“They might want to take a look at child beauty pageants… oh and priests” 100%!!! One Million Mums really has misplaced hate and rage with this Aveeno nonsense. Totally ridiculous!
I’m reminded of a piece that was covered on the televised news for a couple of days back in the late ‘80’s in Los Angeles. A pill that was in testing that would change your hair color. Then it disappeared. Gee…I wonder why…
That's actually one of the possible side effects of eyelash serums containing prostaglandin analogues (like Latisse). Never heard of people wanting that to happen though lol.
yep, American conservatives have completely jumped the shark, they're beyond parody. The stuff they say and do wouldn't be believable if it was written into a script for a movie with the sole purpose of making them look unhinged.
We have bigger problems now than supporting someone's new brand and buying expensive "clean" product. We're all struggling. The last thing we need is to buy this stuff we don't need.
The "child exploitation at its worst" part made me literally scream "WHAT?!" Of course, though, yeah, certainly nothing like what just happened with that 8 Passengers lady who is a big ole Christian and was just arrested for abusing her children while exploiting them online is as bad as an astronaut costume paired with a tutu. 🤯
Oh god I remember hearing some dodgy things about that youtube channel. Interesting that it's now coming out. I've always gotten dodgy vibes from Family channels etc.
They would've hated me as a little girl only wearing boy clothes because I was an extreme tomboy. They'll never take my rights to dinosaurs away and the same for other little girls.
Just because someone calls themselves a Christian (merely for some odd kind of clout?) doesn't mean they're a good example of even a luke-warm Christian. Half of the Sinaloa cartel have tattoos of the Madonna - doesn't mean they're exactly following Jesus. You have to have a discerning eye, booboo.
I'm disabled and unable to work, so the only money I have, comes from disability. So im basically always broke, but I do give myself a monthly fun budget, and I usually spend it on lip gloss from my favorite brand. They're $10-$12, but I still look at them as luxury items because I don't need them🤷♀️
I'm finally getting into the self care. I've always made sure everyone else had what they needed and was taken care of. Now I'm doing a bit more for me and it's nice.
I volunteer with foster children, who are often actual victims of exploitation and abuse. To say that a boy playing dress up in a tutu is "sexualization" and "child exploitation at its worst" is unhinged.
It shows their true priorities. It's not about the children at all because then they wouldn't belittle actual exploitation and sexualization by pretending a little boy in a tutu is even close to either of those things.
People that are so consumed with attacking imagery and potential influence are often neglecting the abuse right in front of them . I was actually abused and meanwhile my dad was writing letters to the paper asking why every classroom at my high school didn’t have an American flag in it … because that would fix everything right
What a great way to spend your time though- foster organizations are so strapped for funding, don't receive even close to enough resources and support...so for you to volunteer with them is really wonderful ❤
@@ladiorange they freaked out when women who worked in Congress came out in pants on the congressional floor. There was a strict dress code. So cool. They just did it. Then they eventually just accepted it and changed the rules. This whole thing is ridiculous. Good point. One of the main reasons why they killed Joan of Ark was because she wore men’s clothes. It’s crazy. Can we move on already.
Oh my, I'm a mom of two boys. my boys have always enjoyd glittery things, they still love their pink stuffed animals (my eldest is 8 years old), they want to do girly things like brushing my hair and choosing nail polish colours when we are at the supermarket, they like unicorns and baking and stickers. Im so happy i have not thought them any gender roles and they can genuinely decide their own interests without pressure to act like a boy. These people reflect their own insecurities to innocent children. Let kids be kids and go and educate yourself instead of seeing demons where there are non.❤
There are some mom influencers who seem to be pressuring their children out of their own interests, in both directions. Let kids be kids, dress them in clothing they feel comfortable in that they can play without flashing anyone, don’t worry about the “statement” it is making, and stop trying to make money off of them. If everyone focused on these simple tenets, kids would be a lot less scarred.
your kids are going to grow up to be so much healthier in their idea of who they are & that they can rely on you for safety & support. knowing they have that support makes independence so much easier. this makes me so happy to read, thank you for sharing. i wish more parents were like you.
Wow...wtf is up with one million moms? My oldest son (he is 36) would play with what was on hand... my high heels, make up while I was putting it on and he had dolls and trucks and coloring books, books to read etc...like I did when I was a kid a bazillion yrs ago. I taught my kid to be respectful of other people and their choices, to question authority, to be polite and to think critically. Yup...he turned out just fine. My mother in law used to have a saying - go weed your own garden - thinking million mom's needs to heed that advice. Makes me want to go buy Aveno and a rainbow tutu... Thanks for an interesting video James
Exactly! My brothers and I threw on gobs of ridiculous items in our dress up stuff. None of it meant anything. We were just using our imagination. Furthermore, if the Astronaut costume and tutu means they're non-binary, are they saying only males can be astronauts? 🙃
I grew up and had barbie dolls, playhouse items, toy cars, beyblade, lego, and other things to play with because of neighbours who had boys. Just let them grow up doing whatever they want....worst is that your child learns you did the shittiest thing to them and breaks ties off with you for coddling and controlling their life too much.
The problem is that now your son would be encouraged by everyone to come out as trans, and encouraged to transition to a girl. The ad isn't some innocent little boy playing dress-up. He's been given those clothes to wear for a photo shoot - to push the trans ideology. ADULTS told him to wear those clothes. ADULTS staged that set, picked the outfit, and took the photos. No child is transgender. They're children and have no sexual identity. Puberty blockers, hormones and removing of body parts is ABUSE with lifelong ramifications. It is NOT for children. And this entire transgender ideology we're seeing needs to be fought against as hard as we fight against all other child abuse! I don't know anything about the million moms group - but I agree in boycotting Aveeno and any other company that pushes this transgender abuse on our children. Let children be children and let them grow up naturally to become who they are to become. And love them every step of the way.
@@jeandiatasmith4512he’s wearing a freaking tutu in no way does that imply he’s trans 💀.My lil brother played with my barbies dolls and wanted to get his ears pierced like mine and turned out as heterosexual.
My little brother used to dress up in dresses all the time because he'd see me in my ballet outfits and he thought it was fun. He had "strong male" influences, dad was a cop, uncle's were truckers and mechanics, grandpa's were military and steel mill workers. My brother just liked to spin around in long skirts lol. He's a grown man now, straight, has a gf, talking about starting a family, and doesn't care what a person's sexual orientation is. I was a ballerina and super girl girl and became an otr trucker (in dresses).
Some prescription eye drops can change your eye color, but as an unintended side effect usually from a lighter color to a darker color over a long period of time!
Yeah that was a big deal when they realised this was a side effect. And it certainly was not used as a selling point! I physically cringe at the thought of doing *anything* that could harm my eyes. I nearly lost one before due to an insane infection; I'm not going through that again.
@@jeniajaddaI thought the same thing. I was using Latisse for my eyebrow, and they told me that if I wanted to use it for my lashes, that could be a side effect. And I was like “Nuh uh”. Although, I did end up using the leftovers from my eyebrow application on my lash area… no issues.
Gosh it makes me so sad that people see more harm in free expression than they do stopping it. Like, do they really think that’s better for the child who will hopefully grow into an adult and high functioning human? No, it’s just better for their own personal comfort as adults who should know better.
Anything 1 million Mums hate must be good in my opinion, and I've always liked aveeno... My god, what child hasn't worn or wanted to wear a tutu? they are glorious and so fun
Literally! The Aveeno intense relief hand cream is affordable for me and it helps a lot with my dermatitis when it periodically flares up on my hands. The fact they've upset a bunch of conservatives, and also as a non-binary person myself, motivates me to continue purchasing their products more. 😅
Exactly! My sister and I used to do ballet when we were children and my brother used to dress up in our tutus. We all thought it was adorable and had great fun together. It's so ironic that they say "let kids be kids" when kids dressing up is completely normal.
Oh my god I laughed with you throughout the Aveeno thing 😂 the tears in your eyes and repeating “it’s not funny..[...]” but it is just so ridiculous lol
Is anybody going to point out that historically, the people who did the most research about changing eye color from dark to light were, umm… from Germany… During WWII… so like that’s a cool idea… but the research that was done *at that time* was cruel beyond measure and human imagination. So it’s sort of tainted the idea of changing eye color for me. The idea of permanently changing eye color, for me, has been permanently tainted with that legacy. I understand that some other research from that time is still actually used (how to treat hypothermia for example) but changing eye color, at that time, was inherently about race. I really don’t know if permanently changing eye color from darker to lighter could ever be removed from that history.
How dare one million moms trivialize actual child exploitation. Are child brides, child slaves, child soldiers and the countless numbers of abused children in the sex trade not click bait worthy?
I remember when I worked as a beauty consultant at Walgreens and Lumify drops (for redness) came out. We beauty consultants were expected to hawk Lumify drops as an add-on to eye makeup purchases, and even given bottles in gratis and free eyedrop samples to hand out at our counter. It creeped me out so bad, and that was actually an FDA-approved medication. These "Fancy Drops" are the dodgiest thing I've ever seen! Even if it did work [citation needed] - you don't need to be introducing cosmetic products to your literal eyeballs!
I was the head of the beauty department at Walgreens years back and I remember them always trying to force us to push sub par products. I see nothing has changed.
I was also a Walgreens beauty consultant and I refused to push the products unless I bought it and tested it first. I always pushed the things I thought would help them with their problems I mean that’s what we were THERE for. It’s no wonder most stores don’t have beauty consultants anymore. Why would anyone trust us when they’re wanting us to push crap and most of them submit after getting called to the office a lot of times about “not pushing the products we want you to” 🙄
@@OfficialLadyDarkSky It's my understanding that it's a more dilute concentration of a med that's normally prescribed for glaucoma. It is safe to use the intended dose - but it's not actually treating the underlying causes of eye redness, just superficially correcting it. It also constricts the pupils (I saw some LASIK patients recommending it for post-LASIK nighttime glare for this reason). As you described it will cause withdrawals of the drug - specifically "rebound redness." I did a bit of my own research on this stuff because I trusted the promo material we were given as far as I could throw it. It's not as if it's without valid use - I'm just extremely leery of treating a medication as cosmetic.
The first time I heard about those Lumify drops was from an ytber who was showing off her makeup routine - not at all the content she usually made, btw. She usually makes ADHD vids and the like. But she did her makeup for that video, and it was a fairly light/simple one, nothing noteworthy asides from the Lumify (and the weird as heck holier than thou vibes she was giving off - completely took me off guard because I had never seen her act like that!). And the comments were all praising her for how natural her routine was, and I was like - is this some kind of inside joke? Even if we assumed that natural was inherently better, how is any of this natural at all??? Particularly those shady eye drops. I was baffled. It was such a strange video and the vibes were so weird that I asked yt not to recommend her channel anymore... Idk, maybe I was harsh, but listening to my instincts has always served me well, so 🤷♀️
The One Million Moms people would probably spontaneously catch on fire if they ever saw a typical Swedish advert for children’s clothing or baby products 😂 or even something like the Ikea catalog
To be honest, I don't understand how any new cosmetic brands can make it in a market that is already so over saturated. Even for me as someone who's interested in these products and even if you disregard the ones I don't want to use like most clean brands or the products that are really fragranced there is still way to much to try out there.
The problem with the industry no one innovates any more. All brands are doing the same thing copying each other. Cosmetic ingredient manufacturers brings so many innovations but manufacturers stick to the same thing
@@TunaYoney This is why indie brands can be such a pleasant surprise, they tend to be innovative! I suppose it's necessary for them to have such a business plan, or they'd never survive such an oversaturated market
@@raerohan4241 exactly! innovation is the key here. I attended cosmetic ingredients trade shows a few items and have been told the same thing several times. All these big brands watch indies very closely, and look what happens, they get acquired. YTTP getting acquired by L’Oréal is the simplest example
sorry it more than a kid playing dress up. ITS another attempt by leftist targeting kids with there sick perverted grooming tactics. and apparently your labeled a hate group if you believe there are 2 genders a man or women . you can be whatever the f you wanna but your not gonna make people who dont agree with you believe thats there are 1001 or more genders. its getting old and people have had enough of I identify as a ...........
But people use contacts to change their eye color all the time. People will always want to change something about themselves physically. I think it's better to be accepting of when people want to do that, and just support it with safe methods. I don't want people to feel like they need to be ashamed of wanting to make a change like that. We change our hair color all the time, it's not that different if you use a safe method.
@@kiluanon of course. But to market an unsafe product to people and feed off their insecurity for profit is disgusting. So not what I was referencing at all.
@@kiluanon Contact lenses are very different to an unregulated, untested, unknown substance. Like, if you want a tan, it is very different to use fake tan/bronzer/2 shades darker foundation than it is to use something you inject into yourself. And if you want fairer skin, it's one thing to use sunscreen, vit C, 2 shades lighter foundation vs. using bleach. Do you see the difference yet?
@@raerohan4241 exactly the analogy I was going to make. Skin bleaching and "colour changing" eye drops can cause irreparable damage to important organs. Contact lenses and fake tan are a few hours of fun with no lasting damage.
The fancy drops are still for sale and still making the same claims. There is actually a complaint on the BBB website from someone claiming it has negatively impacted their eyesight. Very scary...
I need to say with my background in early childhood education/childrens services - when I had the children I taught/cared for, whenever there was a dress up rack and free play time. All the young boys (ages 3 to 5yo), would *always* fight over the tutu's and wedding dresses, or concoct their own outfit like a hard hat with a dress and toolbelt, etc. And they would want to wear them *all* day. Which of course jone of us had an issues with and of course it had no detrimental effect on *any* of the children in our care. However, a *lot* of mothers who would collect said chidlren at the end of the day, would freak out at the fact their son was wearing a tutu or dress or whatever and say "Quick! Take that off before your father sees it/hears about this". You would see the sheer confusion and worry spread across the small childs face as their mother tries ripping off their "costume" - as that's all it was, a "costume". We even had a few fathers come to collect the children and they would very gruffly say things like "Better take that off. You're not a girl" , or "Get that off! No boy of mine wears girl's stuff!". And so on. We did try explaining to parents that this is free time play and an expression of the imagination when playing games of "dress ups" and "let's pretend" with their peers. Some even calling their outfits super hero clothes. That this type of clothing had 0 effect on how they perceived themselves or their sexuality. As at this young age they don't really understand or comprehend all of that. We, as carers/teachers, are allowing them to express themselves and that we would never be pushing an "agenda" but simply allowing a kid to be a kid. Some parents were awesome about it and would just laugh at whst their kids had been up to. Funny thing was though. Not *ONE* parent had an issue if a young girl was in the police or firemans uniform or if they were in the builders hard hat with a tool belt and so forth. That was ok. That was completely fine. 🤷♀️🤦♀️ I just couldn't understand. This was back in 1999 to about 2006 that I witnessed this behaviour from parents.
Oh, shoot. One Million Moms figured out why I'm a lesbian - it was playing with my friend's Hot Wheels while wearing boy's Levi's as a tot! Now I'll have to buy plenty of Aveeno Moisturizing Bars to wash my sins away...🤣🛀👩❤️💋👩
You know I’ve been feeling the same way too! They’re mascaras are definitely the best in the market and they have so many other outstanding products too. I can’t wait to try the new foundation that comes in a dropper, it looks really nice 😊
Great that some people love that brand. For me maybelline is hit or miss. My skin hates their foundations, I always get acne. Their mascaras are also 50/50 to me. Some are amazing!!! Others meh. My favorite drugstore brand is L’Oréal (I know they own maybelline but L’Oréal’s mascaras and foundations just works better on my face.)
@@henriettepedersen7293 have you tried the water infused skin tint by L’Oreal? It is SO beautiful and smells incredible. It is one of my favorite products of all time!!
wow I love how you mentioned about wearing sunscreen & air cushion as if it's not your real skin.. but we all know how great your skin looks! thank you for today's video
When people (we know the sorts of people) express concern that seeing someone who isn't cishet means a child will be influenced, I like to ask them when they *decided* to be straight or were they just born straight? It's surprising how many people have never stopped to think about it that way, and hopefully gives them something to consider in the future.
“a supposedly non-binary child” also made me laugh, it’s crazy how they call queer people groomers and accuse us of pushing it on children but they literally did just that. the irony of it makes it feel like it should be satire 100% it’s honestly tragic that it isn’t satire 😭
It’s sad that brands (that we like lol) are having a hard time selling but it’s not very surprising. The market is so over saturated and there continues to be a new launch or debut every time you blink. Not to mention the state of the economy in many places. I love skincare and love a luxury product just for luxury sometimes but even I’ve scaled back as everything gets more expensive and my wages stay the same. My most “luxury” product for the majority of this year has been Glow Recipe lol
Don't worry, I know the topic itself is serious but I was cracking up as you read that paragraph about the Aveeno commercial. It was SO ridiculous I was almost crying laughing too!
I would be terrified to put drops in my eye that claim to change their color. Almost as terrified as OMM is of rainbows. 😂😂 Always loving your content James!! Thank you for another great one. 🥰💜
A child that young doesn't have any idea about so-called "gendered" clothing. Even my religious mother didn't care that my brother sometimes wore tutus at kindy (ages 3 & 4 in New Zealand) because he was a kid, so who cares?? Caring that much is actually kinda creepy.
I wore my moms dress with my dads shoes as a kid and I was happy playing dress up !!! No one bothered me ! Proud of my parents for not traumatizing me ....😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤absolutely love them ! Talking about the 70’s here !
I wonder if FancyDrops stole those review photos from unknowing Instagram users. A reverse image search might tell. If they have, that’s grounds for a class action lawsuit too, isn’t it?
I have glaucoma, and have to use an eyedrop called Latanaprost; oone of the side effects listed is a change of eye color. Doesn't look very pretty, though. It also causes thicker eyelashes, which is actually rather nice, lol~☺️
Yess I knew this was a thing I just forgot what illness it was for. Very interesting side effect, medicine is so interesting to me in that way how the body reacts to it. That's a nice side effect!! All I got from my medications was anger problems and weight gain lmfao!😂😂
The aveeno thing is insane , I used to dress my little brother as a girl , put clip on earrings and lip stick on him , he looked fabulous and he turned out “just fine” (straight and hetero which I’m sure is the only desired outcome for a child 😔) but like , omgggg boys have been wearing shit like this as children forever I’m 35 . And my straight brother and cousins played Barbie’s with us and we used their tech decks like who tf cares
I think that online meetings, where you could see what you looked like during meetings, in my opinion, caused people to be more critical about what they looked like, which maybe increased some skin care and make up sales.
At a brief moment on my life as a young girl I was really insecure about my eye color, I’ve been threw the ringer with trying too change it and I heard of the drops like 2 years ago and almost did it my mom had too hold me back tho, I have always been insecure of my eye color since I was really young about 10 years old it was because my mother would always make comments about having blonde hair and blue eyes which she had, and I never had because I’m half greek. Too get too the point I don’t mind I have dark brown eyes now and too any younger girl who is going thru this, eye color is nice and all but is doesn’t really matter compared too alot other things
I think brown eyes are absolutely gorgeous, I’m sure yours are beautiful ❤😊 In fact, never in my life have I seen a person who’s eyes weren’t beautiful, they’re all completely unique like little gems 💎
Right before I clicked on your video I saw an advert for ‘color changing eye drops’. I think they were under another brand name, but I remember thinking WTH that has to be dangerous!
That advert with the boy in the astronaut/tutu is sweet. He’s happy and not thinking about his sexuality/gender or making a political choice it’s a great ad. Don’t watch if you want to make it anything other than innocent, please take up a hobby 😊
I agree! When kids do that they just like what they like it's not that deep. It drives me crazy when people gender kids toys needlessly cause it's pink or something. My little brother loved barbies and those little matchbox cars. Kids are just kids they don't think the way adults do and I feel like sometimes adults forget that, or they think the parent influence their decision when kids are very strong willed! If you've ever been around one most kids get an idea in their head and won't stop til they've done it. Even babies who are like 9 months to a yr and able to play get like that. I constantly have to chase my 11 month old nephew and he giggles when I do it, like he thinks it's a game. 😂
@@ghoulishtoadthat’s amazing and 100 percent right in my opinion. I used to play with gi joes and play hockey with the boys. Not a sexual preference it was just because it was what I liked to do. People need to relax and enjoy life without making imaginary consequences
@ghoulishtoad I had a friend that was a boy and our fave toys of mine were Barbies and cars too. Actually, our very fave toy was a box of scarves that my mom gave me! We’d dress up as pirates and fairies and it was so much fun!
It is actually true that some glaucoma drops can cause people with light-colored eyes to develop more pigment, therefore changing color- this can also affect the skin on the eyelids, though.
Omg thanks for that laugh James … was so communicative found myself crying along with you. These ppl are crazy, i guess laughing at them is the sanest reaction to have. Love ur channel and what u stand for, the message, all that. Keep it up xx
Thanks for the low down this month. I can't imagine changing yiur eye color with over the counter drops, scary! Not surprised by ASOS, like you said, They're notorious for copying other companies. Thanks for the engaging content, this was really fun.
I remember reading that brands like essence have skyrocketed recently because of the increased cost of living. People are spending money on non essentials from the drugstore. Which makes me feel that people have finally understood that drugstore isn't necessarily bad but that sometimes brands upcharge customers for nice packaging.
Omg you reading the one million moms website is priceless 😂 it's absolutely insane I almost would believe it's satire if I didn't live in a small texas town and experience ppl like that on a daily basis. I do get great joy out of seeing ppl's faces when I wear my "we are all human" in lgbtq+ colors shirt while running errands tho 🙃
I get a monthly subscription box, and it often has products from "clean" beauty brands. One thing I've noticed about many, not all but the vast majority of them, seem to be just a blend of essential oils and plant extracts and nothing else. A few of the products had ingredients that were a bit more complex- like the molecule from sugarcane that is biologically exact to another- but the vast majority were just a blend of the same essential oils, plant and seed butters and oils, plant extracts, and terpenes. So overpriced, as well.
As a non-binary person I’m just…. so confused? Imagine having such a poor understanding of … well, everything!? Gender identity, fashion, kids, having fun, playing, self-expression, etc. I mean, just that one sentence tells me so much about them. If any of them are actual mothers, I weep for their children.
The rage I feel when these hate groups target totally happy children and situations and conflate ACTUAL child exploitation with simple free expression 🤬 I also just want to say that even if that child IS trans or non-binary rather than a boy, or one day realizes they are, that is still okay!!! Still non-sexual, still totally innocent. There is nothing a child can be, do, or identify as that takes that away. Too often a well-meaning pushback to things like this is, "it's totally innocent, boys/girls do this all the time and they're still boys/girls," when even if they weren't, it's still totally innocent and fine, nothing's changed. Children who are trans, non-binary, fluid, etc., or one day will land on those identities if they haven't already are no more inherently sexual or less innocent than cis children. It's beyond revolting and dangerous that these groups think like this. Sorry for the rant, it's just been a lot here in America these last few years 😅
My 3 year old niece has a spiderman costume that she loves to wear. One I was little I love the ninja turtles, and had the shirt and action figures. I love the essence beauty brand. Very affordable, and good quality.
Personally I thought Maybellines advertisement was fun and lifted you up a bit. As for Asos, I’ve no words! As for the Aveeno advertising, children will dress up in a variety of dress up clothes. Quite often if there main role models are female, then little boys will dress up as who they admire. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with playing dress up! It’s the adults that cause ignorant problems.
Good on Aveeno, I’ll be buying their products even harder now. Thanks 1 million bigoted moms! 😹 also love that you know backrooms games. I love that stuff, but that ad totally gives off that vibe.
