In our stage shows we tend to have non performing players and audience alike shouting like this. It's great to be able to feel the support and trust us, Kyodo are like this all the time!

amazing wow i used to do that but we had like 4 people in our drum group and we always played the same song at school concertsso i got over it but if i could have done something like that i would be sooo happy amazing imma watch it again :D
I like the Jazz-like flair they added to Taiko in the beginning. It was energizing. The active performing was also very entertaining. Thank you for sharing this.
It's a spiritual thing. Taiko to me is the sound of a warrior and the beat of the drums makes your ki stronger with each beat. No wonder ther est of the team backstage cant contain themselves. It pumps you up so much. Adrenaline and endorphins mix and you feel like you can take on the world.
It's collegiate man! It's dope that the crowd is so into it! That's the type of group and the type of atmosphere it is anyway...and over half the people you hear screaming are group members side stage!!!!
they're DRUMS man, a good drum performance should make you move, yell, and march yelling and screaming to the heavens! The liveliness of the audience means they have succeeded.
I am envious of the taiko drummer; performing such an elemental motion on drums that may be hundreds of years old. And GOOD editing. Nothing was missed. Banzai!
my youngest daughter loves the taiko drums and she can kinda play well.she's still very young and has all the potentials.she also loves dancing.she's one very happy and bright girl. ＾。＾
I've seen a lot of taiko, but that was INCREDIBLE. I mean, I got a better feeling from that than I have from seeing some live acts, and that's pretty darn impressive.

Exactly! There's something very primal about drums; they get your heart pounding; they get you excited! I suppose some consider the "audience participation" to be disrespectful, but really, what can you do once the beat gets a hold of you? :D
If you didn't know within the first 30 seconds that this was meant to be a modern adaptation of an ancient art, and not an accurate reenactment, you need some help. よかった！ありがとうございました！
Then you've really got two options. 1. Accept that in some cultures, a quiet audience is a bad thing, and the vocal participation of others actually is an integral part of the performance. 2. Don't expect live performances to be like studio performances!
You may or may not know but in italy and most of europe classical music is often cheered or insulted during performance, it's only in Britain and other "s2pid traditionalist" societies that regard it as disrespectful. As a soon to be graduate in music specialising in contemporary composition I would be perfectly happy for people to heckle and applaud the performers for getting particularly hard phrases correct
Oh, I play Taiko Drums. I love the Hapi coats (Well, I don't know how to spell them) Don't see what you mean by memmory, Im always forgetting. And tecnique I lack. But I'm playing a concert in easter =D
