L’Homme YSL Full Review - Masterpiece Designer Fragrance 

L’homme is what opened the doors to the fragrance world for me just a few years ago. I’m not too keen on the blue fragrances that are popular today so I didn’t really think anything of fragrances until I smelled this! So alluring and inviting

Great frag that gives me memories of working in the heat on a scaffold. I still have my bottle which is 11 years and 4 months 23 days old.

This is one of my favorite scents to use as a unisex one. I’m a woman who love fragrances targeted towards the masculine but I tend to be picky bc most will turn a bit too masculine on me than I want. This one is that good in the middle. The ginger is prominent & adds just the right amount of fresh spice that I like. Yes this fragrance is talked about a lot but I don’t find it over done. It smells good but not just a typical fragrance smell. You’ll smell good, not super average at all. In my personal use of it, I have the small bottle & I will always buy the small bottle version. I can’t even imagine spraying it 17 times, I do your normal spray technique (neck, back, arms) & it’s so strong. Now maybe that’s bc I’m female? I find “masculine” marketed fragrances turn super strong on me but what I’m saying is this lasts for a good amount of time. Longer than many of my other scents. These are my favorite videos you have. The ones where you talk about which “masculine” fragrances are actually unisex & that women can pull off easier without being overly masculine. I agree that fragrances are only audience targeted but sometimes I find masculine fragrances turning too strong or spicy on me yet still wanting that bit of edge to my fragrance. It’s nice to see some opinions giving out the perfect middle ground or ones I can look out for. I also have la nuit but find that sometimes pulls too heavy on me. Although I still love it. When I’m in the mood for it, I love that rich deepness it gives me without it being another generic savauge smell.

I recently had to re-up on this one too. Last week I bought this and platinum egoiste. Love them both.

This held a special place as it was my first bottle of fragrance. I just love the dry down of this L’homme. Since then I kinda liked a lot of YSL’s fragrances like some flankers of L’homme, Y edp and Tuxedo. Later I bought LNDL Bleu Electrique and loved it.

i agree this one is one of those "how can u not like it" scents and it paved the way for most modern designers today! i think la nuit is def better too but l homme is just classic

Thanks for the great review! I just picked up a vintage bottle. Hopefully the juice was stronger back then. If not I have little 5ml atomisers so I can re spray.

L'homme is my favorite scent. The only reason I don't wear it more is because of its many great flankers (e.g. Ultime, Cologne Bleue, La Nuit, etc.).

Yes this an amazing scent! I love when my boyfriend wears this! Soo underrated!

I have L’Homme Intense and I rock it all year around. One of my personal great go to’s so i got to try this out. The Intense can be rather not great for high heat.

Man….this is my signature scent. Just purchased another bottle this past week & also a blind purchase of "Chopard Oud Malaki"…curious to know if you’ve ever wore/owned that one?

What i like about this one is that its safe and works for almost all situation

YSL lasts on me 7 hours minimum. People said Y EDT, Lhomme and Tuxedo weren't beast mode and they always last. It must love my skin chemistry. Lhomme is the same.

hot take: as someone who doesn't care too much about fragrance longevity, I think 2 hours is just unacceptable. one of my favorite designers is Luna Rossa Ocean EDT. now that maybe lasts 4 hours. anything from designers should never last less than 2 or 3 hours 🤷‍♂

Can you try blending this with silver mountain water those paired together are amazing and would like to hear your thoughts on the hybrid

I never smelled it before until a couple days ago and....i can't forget that fragrance....i pretty much sleep less because i was buying it yesterday but i didn't....soo today as my first morning thinks, i went to a chemmark where they have it and i brought L'homme, La nuit de l'homme electrique and Versace Eros Flame! 3 masterpiece....but this and la nuit....omg...what a perfumes. Im crazy for it...

I love l'homme. I will always have a bottle in my fragrance wardrobe

Ppl tend to get nose blind I still get complements at 6 to 8 hrs with this cologne with 5 sprays but that is on my clothes. Yes this cologne is more of a discovery sent. But I get waitress that will complement me on it a LOT.

Smelled this yesterday shopping and I fell in love with the scent almost dropped the $100 for the bigger bottle but I was worried it didn’t last or project ! Does it last and project folks ?

This is my signature scent. I love it so, so much. I overspray this all the time, but the performance is straight up trash. Sadly, it doesn't last that long, so I'm looking for a second signature scent. I also like YSL Libre for women. Apparently, the new YSL Myslf smells like Libre, but idk how it compares to L'Homme.

If you combine YSL L'Homme and D&G The One Intense.. you will get a very complementing scent, that would last you somewhat more than just the scents for themselves.. I like this combo a lot. My friends surely agrees 😊

What other perfumes you recommend layering lhomme with …

L’homme is undefeated. Classic scent that never gets old, no matter how many years. Banger for all occasions.

Interestingly, once it dries on my skin, it reminds me a lot of ombre leather from tf. Still though, this is such a masterpiece of a fragrance and wish the performance was slightly better.

i just use one spray. its either on my chest after i put on lotion or on top of my clothes. and i work inside toyota spray division. i wear plastic suit protection. and when i kinds move and generate heat upto sweat a lil bit. the smell gets stronget. like someone smelled it even tho we are inside where paint and thiner was just used. and someone(co worker woman) has to grab me by my collar and take a sniff just to be sure. if it was me. no cap.

I know it doesn’t last as long as an edp but it’s also very affordable.

To me this is a really nice, pleasant, but unremarkable scent profile. Fine for an office or place where you want to smell inoffensive.

Amazing scent. Horrific performance.

It's such a comforting scent. Reminds me of warm afternoons and golden hours of the past. Impossible not to like. Weak as hell though.
