Spot on review of this product. These are the exact issues I had with this powder. Shame I thought it would compare to the other products of this line.
I love powder foundations because they usually help to control oil and I can apply them pretty quickly. This stuff oxidized on me like crazy! It also did nothing for my oils. I like the Maybelline Fit Me powder MUCH better. I can't wait to see the rest of this series! :)
Yes, it’s not the best at oil control, but even though I have very oily skin, I still love it for how seamlessly it melts into my skin and provides natural looking coverage. It does better with the L’Oréal Matte Lock primer, for me. It can darken, (my correct shade doesn’t, and does just fine for me) but that’s just a sign that you got too dark a shade, and is easily fixed by getting a shade or 2 lighter. I don’t think this was as much a problem with the powder, as much as just picking too dark a shade, with possibly the wrong undertone: I’d never do W3 with her coloring- I think N1-2 would’ve been much better on her, since she said it was too orange, which was the first clue. Also, it wasn’t “oxidizing” on that very first swipe- that happens over a few minutes, not instantly. It was just the wrong color. Lastly, the silly sponge they give you is the worst- like most cheap tools that come with makeup, it’s best tossed. Also, a dense kabuki brush isn’t good with a very soft powder like this one- it picks up too much product. A small, almost dry beauty blender type sponge works great. To each her own, and she obviously didn’t like it, but I do think there was a lot of user error here. All this said (yeah, I can’t believe I’m this invested in defending a powder, either🤣 I will check out the Fit Me powder, though I do dread the color/undertone search. Hopefully it won’t be too hard, given what I know about the colors of this powder.
@@ayeshashafiq9036 If you seem pinkish, you’re cool. If you seem more yellowish, you’re warm. If you’re something in the middle, you’re neutral. If you get one and it’s wrong, it’ll guide you to the right one. I like this powder bc you have the choice between all 3 undertones, and then plenty of different shades of each one, so you can really get a good match. Good luck. 🙂✌️
Ya!!! I saw j. Cat! I got it on sale at Ulta and so far I'm in love but I usually use it as a setting powder and it really helps with oil breakthrough. I've been going back and forth on trying the L'Oreal infallible I've heard mixed reviews for oily skin can't wait to see what you think!
I can't wait to try the J Cat foundation, I hear so many people like it! I hear mixed reviews on the L'Oreal Infallible as well but I figured I'd see for myself. 🤞
Thanks for this video series! I’ve gotta go back and try this one again. I have it just sitting around, so I know It didn’t work for one reason or another but I can’t remember why. I have trouble with my pores being emphasized and products not looking good and disappearing/looking patch/wearing off into white dots on my chin. 🙄 Mac Studio Fix powder foundation is the best and stays on my chin.
I normally use the elf Poreless putty primer for my pores (which does so well) but I wanted to see what this powder would do without it…and I was disappointed ☹️
I didn’t have the oxidation issue with mine it stayed pretty fair. It covered my nose rather well but I was disappointed with it too. I’m just going to use it as a setting powder since I can’t return it
I thought it was just me struggling with the same issues using the powder, it's good but need just very little for setting foundation. I thought maybe it was the in foundation and powder that didn't mix well so I went and bought the same brand of powder as the foundation I had (Rimmel) and I still have the same issue. I'm so frustrated. When I was into makeup years ago, I had no problems but now that I'm getting back into it and my skin has changed it's like mission impossible.
I completely understand; my skin has definitely changed throughout the years. As a result, certain makeup products do not work for me anymore, and specific makeup techniques don't either.
Yeah, I think the lights definitely didn't help show you the horrible patchiness. I didn't even want to leave the house because it was that bad lol I think it was the dark orange nose that just really did it for me! HAHAHAHA!
Hi Tink! So powder oxidizing means when the powder formula starts to turn to a darker color...even orange. This can happen when the powder touches the oils of your skin or mixes with the skincare you used.
The mirror is up side down and the makeup applicator not secure, very cheap container, I hate this new one, never changed my applicator so much from it dropping out
