It's too snowy in Alpine to keep the jet here all winter, but it ended up taking us 4 airplanes to move it to Salt Lake. L-39 Part 12.

Matt...I flew your route from Alpine down to Henderson last weekend in the L-39C in MSFS 2020 and it's amazing how close the sim looks to real life. This is very cool!

I picked up that L-39 just recently, hence why I was searching RU-vid. Just a great aircraft to play in in VR. Plus it's believable to be a private pilot in one, so feels more authentic. Default cockpit is close to this model as well.

Great flying it’s good to see someone on RU-vid. That actually knows how to fly a plane. I’ve been flying since I was 15 i have an SR22 turbo. With 1400 hours Gen 4 and many hours in Baron G 58 and DA 42 and several hours in right seat on a mustange I just turn 60 and appreciate your love for the art of flying!!! Andrew Sirota

I have flown over, but never landed, in Alpine on my long student solo cross country from KLGU-KIDA-KJAC-KLGU (three states) and that route is high, mountainous, and beautiful. I am glad my CFI approved that route even though it was kind of crazy in hindsight. One of these days I hope to make it up into the flight levels.

Nice video. I am a little confused - why did it take four airplanes to move the jet? So I assume the 172 was being moved to Alpine and the twin was being moved to South Valley as well? Otherwise, why not just hop in the Bonanza and go back to Alpine?
@hxhdfjifzirstc894
@hxhdfjifzirstc894 Год назад
Yes, I drew out a map and used pins and string to serve as route markers... after 3 hours of FedEx style trip analysis, I must concur -- clearly the prudent thing to do is to hop in the Bonanza and go back to Alpine. I can only assume that the flight levels have messed with Matt's head a bit.

SOOOooooo ... I knew that operating the rudder pedals will independently give differential braking and therefore nose steering when the brake handle is applied. I now know that the main brakes can be operated with the rudder amidship along with pressure on the brake handle. Question #1: Can the speed brake switch on the throttle handle be reversed. It is counter-intuitive to me, meaning it "should be" forward = deployed and rearward = retracted. Question #2: Can the unequipped standard L39 be fitted with drop tank pylons ?

Great video Matt the journey continues. Question The avionics on the jet seem different then on the Bonanza. Could you describe the differences. For instance I am not hearing the audible warnings like traffic ahead or when your 500 feet from ground. If you like just add it to or make a video about it I am sure there is a lot you could say about the in cockpit avionics of different aircraft. Thanks again.

I've only "flown" the L-39 in DCS World and I may get a chance to fly in one for real when I visit an African country in mid-2024. BTW, were you flying out of Alpine, Wyoming? I'm from Liverpool, UK but I lived in Casper in 1995 and 1998. In 1998, I started taking flying lessons at Casper Air Service but only managed 36 hours before my contract ended. In reality, I had to stop flying in September because the wind speed increased above the allowable 15kts so for the next 3 months, until I left in December, I couldn't get any flying done.
