After 50 years of exploring and studying music I have suddenly come across the magnificent repertoire of Boccherini. I'm so glad to have overlooked him for so long - I have the immense pleasure now instead.

I LOVE that there is only one commercial at the beginning and then I can just listen. Most classical music videos I find are littered with a commercial every twenty minutes. Thank you!

Levitan use of light in his landscapes is brillant. It evokes as much feeling as Boccherini's masterpieces.

Thanks for sharing this playlist. Along with the painting, "Fog over the Water", it is an exquisite 5 hours ... the extra 17 minutes or so is the lingering effect that stays with you long on into your day/evening.

I listened to this video all throughout college. It helped me so much in my concentration during exam seasons and the like. I searched Spotify high and low to find this exact recording of the Sonatas (I believe that it’s the album with Dmitri Dichtar and Pavel Serbian). I even bought a print of this exact painting for my room. Thank you so so much for this video

The music sounds neo-Baroque with a lot of similarities to the Bach sonatas, but gloriously so! And what a superb performance! The musical life in late Classical Madrid could not have been as parochial as its been stereotyped to be; there must have been extraordinary musicians at court for Boccherini to tailor his oeuvre for.
