Solotech introduced the groundbreaking new L-Acoustics L2 line array in Germany this year as a Pilot Phase Partner and the first to use the system on tour with schlager singer Helene Fischer. The tour's team, including FOH Engineer Alex Spengler, Systems Engineer Nils Knecht, Lighting Engineer David Wolstenholme, and Application Project Engineer, Sergey Becker, dives into the unparalleled benefits brought by L2.
"It changed the perspective of working with a line array for me," says Systems Engineer Nils Knecht. "With fewer rigging points, there are fewer complications, minimizing human error. This gives my crew the ability to start flying the PA right away while I'm still working on the configuration."

I saw the concert twice in Mannheim. Once in the curve on the grandstand and once on the back grandstand right in the middle, so to speak the reference-place in terms of sound-technology. Unfortunately, I felt the sound of both shows was pretty bad this time compared to Helene Fischer's previous tours. In the center, the intelligibility was good, but the loudspeakers were overwhelmed in louder passages of the music and a bright "buzz" and "hiss" could be heard. On the space in the curve, I had the feeling that the sound was not properly controlled. Only the "treble" and the bass arrived there. Unfortunately, speech intelligibility was lost in the sound.
