bought this by mistake thinking it was an EDP of the original, realised it was a completely different scent but to be honest, on some days, I like it more than the original..has more complexity to it and needs more attention in frag community
I agree with your sentiments of knowing when to wear a fragrance. Personally, I sometimes don't mind a fragrance sitting close to my skin. I find it intimate, my little secret and if they are lucky enough, I'll share it with them.
I realized spray twice on each spot where you spray, it will project and last much better, that's to say two sprays on each side of the neck, two sprays on the front chest neck and two on the back of the neck, total 6 sprays, then it projects very well for 3 hours and last around 9 to 10 hours, I do the same for D&G The One EDP and YSL La Nuit del homme EDT. Otherwise they are weak in projection and longevity.

I just wore it yesterday. So, I figured I'll watch a couple video reviews on it to see if I get the same. I've had this for about a year, and the cold weather is my favorite time to wear it. Here in Corpus Christi Texas, it rarely get beneath 50°F, so I only seldomly get to wear it, but beautiful fragrance.

I love this new presentation robes08! The little new touches added to the reviews actually helps us visualize what you're talking about. Some say your videos are a bit long, these visuals help break the monotony. Maybe at the end, a little bullet point section of what's the good, the bad, and the ugly for the impatient folks? As to the perfume, I live in a tropical country and the la nuit itself is hard to wear here so I just sold it. Maybe I'll try to get a decant of this first before a full bottle purchase.

I remember JRs review on this one back when I first started watching YT fragrance videos circa 2010. I have owned this one for years and used half of my 100ml bottle so decided to pick up a backup bottle, and the bottle I managed to pick up has the exact same batch code '2013' 😅
Frankly, the original, the 2009 one is awesome. The parfum edition s..ked in my personal opinion, no matter how much I tried to like it/grasp it/ whatever... I just couldn't. It presented terribly on my skin/clothes. As for the flanker Frozen Cologne : awesomeness in a bottle ! The other flanker , the Intense one is also pretty fantastic. Both of these are much appreciated by the ladies. Finally the latest flanker , the au electrique one : is an "meh" , i.e. not the best but it's never the less : nice. Meaning it's a good alternative to the better flankers if they're not available. Thanks alot for the reviews, mate. They're always awesome and very informative. La nuit and le parfum are great to go clubbing....Seriously, a lady told me it was refreshing to the loud scent at the club and yes I had to share my scent with her later that night!
this one lasts wayyyyyy better then EDT even the old formula, projection is weak after the first hour or so but i m talking about winters -15 hungary but in summers this one is just a beast
It's funny how fragrances change depending on the nose and the region people live in. I personally felt the smell was too formal for myself and people around me would tell me the same. I got a raisin sec smell rather than compote vibe from it. It smells great though and on me I got over 8 hours longevity (but projected maybe an inch from the skin, had good sillage though). Eventually gave it to my brother and as he works (and I'm a student) he makes better use of it.
finally got to try this stuff.. damn it took me long ... this is some good stuff! I wish I tried it sooner.. Its very masculine and dark but appealing with the la nuit in the background. Good stuff.. def underrated.
I have sampled this and loved it, but on me projection and longevity was awful, one hour ok projection and I could not sense it after 3 hours. I need to sample it again because the smell is fantastic and unique.
I love this house .Its not your skin , brow. I have the same problem with almost all of YSL fragrance. I think they going down the hill. The Bleu electrique its a crap, it last 3 hours on my skin. My opinion is you better buy the edt ones , because the edp ones sucks, they are crap just to rob you for the money. Love the la nuit edt and l'homme edt.
Yeah I'm buying this one real soon,great review my man....I can never understand why the heck they reformulate masterpieces,like the original,do you know why they do that cause it makes absolutely no sense to me??????

LMAO, the poor projection EDP cry babies.. hilarious! I layer edt on top of EDP and have gotten tons of GREAT compliments. Great review good use of humor
It's very good Mark. Loving it. I think it's more wearable than London and better than the current La Nuit EDT. The current EDT is so weak and some notes are sharper or or with rough edges... I find this EDP well blended passed the initial 5 to 10 minutes. I should have get the original EDT when it was more incensy. I didn't know much back then.

The only La Nuit I own and I really like it. With all the reformulations I didn't get the original La Nuit; I got the Zara Y collection and it's a good enough replacement for me.

i bought the edp version and people are saying it smells different than the edt version. how? i thought edp just means its a more concentrated version.
I swore I wouldn't buy another bottle but I may get the perfume or another edt. My 50ml bottle has a couple mists left in it. My 2013 bottle smells amazing. I was in ulta today and can barely smell the current formulation
ehhh.... Even the original La nuit i found kind of weak in performance.. the new formulation on my skin is a huge joke.. Im gonna guess this one has been reformulated as well and probably that four star projection is more like a 2 projection in 2017.. I think ill pass on this one. Performance for me is big these days.. Im not one who likes respraying stuff every 2 hours lol
I feel your pain, Paulie. I don't mean to be your morale police, but if a lack performance truly bothers u then u might want to consider going niche. I understand that u and I don't wanna spend $300 on a bottle, but there are decant websites (decantshop.com, perfumsamplesanddecants.com) where u can get 10ml decants for under $50. I know we all want a decent performing fragrance for around $50, but u have to realize that it's not the 90s anymore. That's especially in todays fragrance industry, in the designer realm, where just about everything is getting reformulated and watered down. Just a suggestion.
paris france I have a 17 year old bottle of Hugo, smells better now then it did. Like single malt scotch older the better. I have an 8 year old bottle of Double Black and oh man. 8 year old bottle of guess Suede 1st formulation of JPG square to name a few.
