I grew up with listening this overture among others like Poet and Peasant, Light Cavalry and Semiramide and well... countless, but this 1812 is my favorite. I love it. Now my little son loves it too; he is just 3 yrs old. Last May we visited my countryside hometown, a place of musicians, two bands were playing and at the end both joined to play this great overture. My son wanted to play his small zimbals with them, I took him to the back stage and he played the grand finale of it.
I love this show. I'm actually one of the many pyros that set this show up. It's nice to see our work let alone how people feel about it. Glad you liked it!
