Face used to the guitarist of the funk recording band called Manchild with his co writer Daryl Simmons in the late 70's cause I got their first two albums and he partnered with L.A. when he left Manchild to join the Deele, which is when Bootsy met him who said he looked so young according to an interview of Bootsy

I believe the Deele broke up rather than those two leaving. Could be wrong but I think they broke up in like 86, then Two Occasions became a hit and they regrouped to promote it before going their separate ways again.
