Love the summary!! The Toleriane Ultra (the first moisturizer you discuss) also has the perk of coming in a tube that doesn't let oxygen in, which also makes it more difficult to contaminate. My dermatologist recommended this when I was trying to limit potentially sensitizing ingredients for that reason.
I just watched a video with Doctorly (on RU-vid) and they said it’s actually preservative free as the tube is hermetically sealed. It’s great for those with sensitivities to preservatives.
I have dry skin and I actually find the LRP Toleriane Ultra to be perfect for me, it's definitely not too lightweight for me as long as I layer a hydrating toner and serum underneath (but that's standard practice for me now, no matter what moisturizer I use)
@@AbbeyYung I have dry skin and it’s sensitive I have seborrheic derm prone skin and was told that laroche is a good option as they have minimal ingredients
I just switched from CeraVe PM to LRP Double Repair at night because cerave has been too light for winter, I’m obsessed 😍 also just started LRP spf 50 serum from your recommendation, also obsessed!! You always nail the recs, I trust your opinion so much because you evaluate ingredients AND you test products out personally. Thank you Abbey!
Omg yes please!! Body sunscreens are the trickiest because it stains clothes and gets all over the car seats and furniture...If a sunscreen is sticky on my face I don’t care because I don’t touch anything with my face but on the body it’s such an inconvenience 😱
I’ve been using Eucerin daily hydration cream spf 30, broad spectrum (I have sensitive skin). I really like it. It soaks in nicely, no greasiness or white cast.
Abbey I’m not joking it’s like some kind of magic!! Idk how but so many times when I think of a product, I find a new video about it from you around the same time!! I was looking into this brand last night and I’m waking up to your review! Pure magic!
Oh my gosh this is hilarious 😂 I see comments like this all the time and I have no idea how that timing always works out so perfectly but so glad it does!
I just adore these products for my dry skin! For a drugstore product, they just feel bougie on my face. I can’t say enough about their moisturizers & SPF. I also love the thermal spray between my skincare products to keep my skin moist. I’ve got a note to my self to pick up the Cica Baum for some dry spots on my temples. Thanks for a great review Abbey!
I’m glad the Lipikar Balm AP + is a rec. of yours! I LOVE it!! I have drier, very sensitive skin. This a dream. Its been so difficult finding a cream that doesn’t burn/sting some part of my face. (once in a blue moon, I feel a slight sensation that goes away in, literally 2 sec.)
It is a great video. You simplified the product description to what matters and gave a demo of texture as well as the application on face. Really helpful
I've just discovered LRP. Love it so far. The purifying cleanser can make my skin feel a little tight, too, but all foaming cleansers do that to me. The milkier cleansers clog my pores no matter what. I just stick with the foaming, it's less trouble. As my dermatologist said, I'm "one of those people." And your channel is making me spend a lot on skin and hair care now 😄
I had the same experience with the cleanser! the hydrating cleanser was way too gentle and wouldn't remove my makeup, but the purifying was too harsh. I recently tried the Lipikar foaming cleanser and I think it's the perfect mid-point. It removes my makeup, it's foaming (which is an aspect I really enjoy) and leaves my skin feeling hydrating, so I'd say give it a shot if you have the chance!
I like to think of their new Lipikar wash as a hybrid of their first two cleansers. It lathers up nicely but doesn’t leave me feeling dry and it has Shea butter in it. I have oily skin and it’s been great.
Would love to see a review on Paula’s choice. Or more makeup looks from skincare to finish. I always have an issue with pilling and idk what I’m doing wrong
I've been buying moisturizers for over 20 years... The Toleriane Double Repair moisturizer (w/out UV) is something everyone should try. I've never said that before.
Hi Abbey I've used the Lipikar as my night cream for a long time in the colder months and it's really economical to use that way on face, neck and chest. In the warmer months I switch to the cicaplast as it is lighter weight than the Lipikar - mostly due to the difference in occlusive ingredients ie the Lipikar uses mineral oil and the cicaplat uses dimethicone. I have very dry skin prone to both rosacea and eczema. I even mostly use another moisturiser underneath both as I'm super dry and often using a retinoid. I layer my hydrating skincare, use a lightweight lotion, wait 20 mins, apply retinoid and then use either the Lipikar or the cicaplast as more of a sleeping pack or final layer. The toleraine riche is better for me as a daytime moisturiser under sunscreen than those shown, as the other two are very lightweight. Bearing in mind here in Scotland LRP is quite similarly priced to cereve (cereve incidentally burns/stings on my skin), due to LRP being cheaper here and cereve being more expensive. I don't really use the spf's as my face skin doesn't do well with alcohol or older generation chemical filters, but I can use them on the body. Best wishes.
Their Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 is also amazing as a morning moisturizer. Especially if I am indoors all day, a beautiful thin layer of protection first thing in the morning!
Just found your channel and I love it! For anyone curious/trying to figure out which cleanser to choose: the purifying foaming cleanser I loved at first! I was using it once a day everyday, and it completely destroyed my skin barrier. In my opinion, I completely agree it dries out your skin if used too much, but I’m afraid to use it again. I just recently bought the hydrating cleanser and I’m hesitant to try it honestly, but I’m going to give it a go. Just a warning for anyone trying out the cleanser!
I just bought the LP thermal spring water. I love it! Very fine mist. I run combo/tzone oily and I really enjoy using the LP Toleraine Hydrating cleanser in the morning. Perfection!
Thank you very much. I have combo skin. If I use "dry skin" products, generally it's like not enough for my acne... and if I use "oily skin" products, it dries out the dry areas of my face. It's a struggle.
Hi!I love your channel, because you explain so much better!💖I actually use Cerave (for about 2years), because i had pimples.(because of stress and other factors). The product of Cerave really helped me with this problem .My skin is so much better now!💖I had tried a sample(the milky cleanser) once and my skin felt smooth.I will definitely buy and try out Laroche cleanser (for dry skin)and the moisturiser , because so many people are recommended me about them.💗
Can you please do a best of video about sunscreen setting sprays? It's almost impossible to reapply spf over makeup. I can't seem to find the right kind of spf spray! I would be eternally grateful. I have the LP double repair moisturizer and I like it but it pills something awful on me. Also, you look beauteous!
I've been using the Cicaplast on nose, cheeks and chin, and Cicaplast Mains on my hands, and stopped chafing from extended use of masks or cracking from repeated use of hand sanitizer. I'm a convert! This stuff is a game-changer. Oh - I like the lip balm too. I don't usually don't wear lip products but find that mask wearing has been drying for my lips, thought I'd try it. I'd definitely buy this again.
The light fluid sunscreen is badass... looks amazing on the face... I wish they had better tints though. I have very sensitive and dry skin and it is the only sunscreen that doesn’t make n skin feel like air burn.
If you have blackheads I recommend LRP Effaclar Duo- it's a spot treatment! It is the #1 thing that I ever use where you use it and 3 days your blackhead is cleared.( I use other AHAs/BHAs but still i get a stubborn blackhead everyone and then! super annoying lol) But really the LPP Effaclar Duo is a magical product for blackheads- haven't tried it for pimples yet. ONLY warning is that it will dry the area you put it on your face SO much. Like it will clear your blackhead in 3 days and then you need to really moisture the following 5 days to repair your skin barrier!- but it's sort of a trade off for not risking any kind of acne scars.
I used the Double Repair moisturizer when I was first starting tret and it wasn’t enough moisture for me (dry/normal). It burned my face when I applied it because of barrier irritation and didn’t seem to help with the extra dryness from the tret. Def prefer vanicream lotion for tret irritation!!
Abbey, I just wanted to mention that this brand has a cica cream ( the one you like) with SPF 50!!! Great filters!! Better , in my opinion, to many of their sunscreens....I don't know if you can buy it in the US but worth checking out!!... I only use their sunscreens if I go to beach 🤣🤣... ⛱.. don't like the way they look!!.. they do have mineral versions, tried them all and they are horrible 😢😔!! Sticky, thick and they all feel very heavy on the skin...
I started using the La Roche Posay Double Moisturizer with SPF. It's been about two weeks and I've noticed some pore clogging :( Little black heads and white heads on my cheek and forehead. So bummed because i love how mousitruzing it is and how it doesn't leave a white cast! I have oily/combo skin, so I guess the clog poring ingredient isn't suitable for my skin type :/
I absolutely love your videos even though I am much older that you are…lol. I do have a similar skin type. I purchased the cleanser for normal to oily skin and use at night only and it works very well. The double repair moisturizer feels nice on the skin and I will see if it makes my chin break out…crossing fingers! I love it that these are fragrance free which is safer for very sensitive skin like mine. Highly recommend this brand and works well under makeup too.
I'm currently using the LRP Hydrating cleanser and I honestly regret switching to it from the Vanicream Gentle Cleanser. 😭 I wanted to switch to a slightly gentler cleanser to be able to ramp up my use of other treatments (actives) without my skin being dried out. The Vanicream is my tried and true for a really basic vanilla routine but I find it can be a bit drying when I'm using it in conjunction with a lot of actives. However I can say now that I much prefer the CeraVe Hydrating personally for that purpose after trying this LRP one. It burns my eyes and I have a stubborn patch of whiteheads on my cheek that I'm pretty convinced cropped up as a result of the LRP cleanser. My brother uses it and seems to like it though haha!
Hi Bekah! So, when your face isn't to dry (would you say combo) you prefer to use Vanicream gentle cleanser and then if your face is on the dry/flaky side all over you like to use cerave hydrating cleanser, is that right? For both vanicream and cerave do both remove makeup when washing with the cleansers?
I love LaRoche Posay so much, but I’ve yet to find any of their SPFs to be cosmetically elegant. I’ve tried three different ones and they’ve all left a significant white cast. Has anyone else had this issue?
Mineral ones or chemical ones? Mineral ones will definitely leave a cast but I have noticed that the chemical Anthelios SPF 60 leaves a slight white haze on my skin (even though I’m very fair).
Please clear this up for me! I’ve read that chemical sunscreens should be applied to bare skin so they absorb directly where as physical sunscreens should be applied last… Yet I keep seeing mixed advice on this. What I’ve stated makes the most sense to me. Is it really true that ALL sunscreens should be applied last as you’ve said??
Hi Abbey, I'm only getting around to watching this now 😘. I'm so glad you had a video of this brand and what you would recommend. I recently purchased the travel kit of Cleaner, Toner and Moisturiser! As the Craven range felt my skin feeling tight. So I'm glad there was another affordable brand that you reviewed. As it is hard to find fragrance free products. I haven't got any of there sunscreens and I will have to check that out and get one for sure. Thanks so much lovey 💗.
I have very oily skin and I can’t use that foaming cleanser. I find it very stripping. I find that it leaves my skin very squeaky clean and stripped every time I use it. I will have to try the moisturizing cleanser instead. I just hope that won’t be too moisturizing for my oily skin.
Thank you so much for this video! I've been having a love affair with Laroche posay recently they have really improved my skin but still haven't totally nailed my routine. Very helpful video x
Curious if you’ve tried and reviewed a skink care routine using Paul’s Choice. I just discovered the brand and found it an amazing switch from using Curology for a year. I appreciate all your great content!!!
Thank you for the informative video. I have combo skin but on the dry side and only oily on my nose. I just wanted to say I love your skin and your makeup is so pretty. I realize this video was a year ago but do you remember what lip color your wearing? It’s so gorgeous on you! 😍
Thank you very much for your tutorials you give us. I noticed that when you apply you always go over your eye lids. Every time I do this it seems to get into my eyes even when I apply lightly 🥺 do my eye lids need to be protected?
Abbey please review the new sunscreen from Avene called Intense Protect which includes their new patented UV filter TriAsorB which claims can protect against visible light.
I had the worst irritation due to the Effaclar cleanser. I got switched cus it has a veeery similar packaging to the toleriane foaming cleanser so be careful y’all
Love your videos. I have combo skin, with oily t zone and dry cheeks. Not sure if I’ve missed it, but do you have a full LRP routine for combi skin, or could you recommend for me. Many thanks x
Thanks for the awesome vid! I cannot tolerate Avobenzone at all, so I usually gravitate towards mineral suncreens. I love Drmtlgy's tinted mineral sunscreen ❤
I love CeraVe and decided to try LRP because I had some issues with skin. Everything I tried is peeling off. Had to go back to Cerave as I have never experienced any problems with it.
I tried the LRP Toleriane Double Repair and, while I liked the moisturizing effect, it pilled horribly whether I used it alone or with sunscreen. I found it impossible to use with sunscreen in particular because it created such a mess. I was hoping for a less expensive product than Elta MD but will be returning to EMD.
I have normal to dry skin. I’m switching from more expensive moisturizers and just got the double moisturizer but it’s kinda tingles when I put it on. It does go away but is that normal?
Here’s my dealio: I watch these videos and I get convinced to buy this or that next, I screenshot the product then watch another video with another dermatologist who will recommend something else that seems good for my skin. What do I do? I screenshot the product. It’s a cycle. 😂 Because I’ve started two new product (one being Cicaplast Baume b5), my skin seems to be changing. Doesn’t seem oily like before. Now I’m trying to figure what skin type I have and if I should add another moisturizer.
How do you keep sunscreen from burning your eyes? I noticed you applied it very close and over your eyelids, that’s something I have an issue with a lot. Do any of these cause eye irritation or burning or are they all formulated so there is no stinging? And any other tips to avoid this issue as I really want to protect the skin around my eyes too but find that’s I can’t as they will get irritated when suncreen gets in. Thanks for this great review!
Even the gentle cleanser doesn’t feel as hydrating as what I guess I need. I have sensitive reactive skin and the gentle cleanser is good but leaves my skin a bit dry. It’s like I need an oil based cleanser or something. Anyone know if La Roche-posts makes an oil based cleanser? I also use the double repair moisturizer and it’s nice but I still have to use a little bit of petroleum jelly to feel fully moisturized. Anyone else have skin like this?
I'm happy for this! The ONLY LRP product that I've tried that works for me is the Baume b5. The sunscreens I've tried are too greasy for me 😕 Several things I've tried that you recommended that I love: Aeropress (currently drinking coffee now!!) And Lash Sensational. Thank you!!! PS How does the Ultra Soothing Repair compare to CeraVe PM? Or to Vanicream Facial Moisturizer?
Great video again💫 I have 1 single question, about the thermal water spray. hope u have a tip. I often deal with dehydrated skin and live in a dry climate, I need to be super cautious 4 example with HA or too many humectants. if I use plain water on skin, it dries out & evaporates in the air. Did u ever got dehydrated after using (only) the spray? or woud u say that its binding to the skin. TIA 💋
I just got the LaRoche Posay Double Repair Moisturizer for night and afterwards apply CeraVe Healing Ointment. My skin is dry and dehydrated and I also started Spironolactone. Would those two be sufficient enough to repair that?
Hi I wanted to ask, you said taht every product are fragrance free but almost on every product is on the last place parfum / fragrance so I am comfused
If purchasing the hydrating gentle cleanser, is salicylic acid cleanser needed to buy as well? I have dry skin, and dark spots. Not much pimples, sometimes clogged pores on nose.
Hello! I'd love a video about those cleansing brushes like PMD clean or Clarisonic or Clinique, those silicone or brush cleansing brushes, I want to know what research you can find. I'm just don't that good at research lol
The oily skin cleanser made my skin feel a little dry (i have combo skin VERY oily nose) which cleanser should i use (you can also recommend other drug store cleansers) PLEASE HELP!! :)
I have the same kind of skin and one of my favorites is the Cetaphil oily skin cleanser it cleanses your skin but you don't feel like it's drying at all
