Meanwhile it’s amazing in central Nevada. Air is clean. No traffic. I love it here. Downside is nearest Walmart is 210 miles away. But I’m not so sure that is a downside.
As someone who retired and moved here in 2015 from California I was pleasantly surprised by Las Vegas. Best decision we ever made. That said, we have witnessed more and more Californians move here over the years. I´d like to think people relocating here have learned their lesson and left the BS behind. Somehow I doubt it.
I mean, if you don’t mind being hot as hell for three months and cold for three months instead of just enjoying about 10 to 11 months of whether or year as you would in Southern California if it doesn’t bother you to just sit inside all day and to be in casinos full of smoke if that’s what you consider a life then, so be it
@@Mountainman524 Took a few years but we got acclimated and now love it! There is so much more than what you described that makes the Vegas valley a beautiful place to live. We´re not gamblers so the only time we venture down to the Strip is for a nice restaurant and/or to see a great show.Based on what I´m hearing from friends who still live and work there I am so very glad to be done with California!

Nah it’s good if all Californian’s move to Nevada and other states so they can bring up the cost of living that’s what people from other states did to California made it expensive now it’s payback 😂🤣🫵🏽🫵🏽
Soon enough there’s not gonna be a cheap state to live in if people keep moving there that’s what happened to California when everyone moved here it brought up the cost of living and now people from other states are crying that the cost of living is going up 😂
Sure, Las Vegas is cheaper….but there’s NO charm, NO character (except for the Art’s District’s wonderful non-chain businesses). The ENTIRE valley is just a bunch of strip malls filled with chain stores. The exception being some excellent family owned restaurants scattered here and there in those strip malls. But the entire valley is dirty, and ugly. Plus, the locals all HATE the Strip, and they prefer what? Home Depot, JoAnne Fabrics, Wal-Mart, Burger King, Marshal’s?!? I was told Summerlin and Henderson were beautiful areas…..really?!? Tivoli Village is cool looking….but almost everything is CLOSED (nice Leone Cafe however), the place is like a zombie apocalypse. Downtown Summerlin might as well be a D-list mall in Orange County, and The District in Henderson has what? LuLu Lemon?! ……SoCal sure is VERY expensive, but just remember, you get what you PAY for. Same can be said about Las Vegas, only the opposite. Just REMEMBER that, Angelinos moving to Las Vegas….you get what you pay for!! 🤔🤔🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

@@eddieg6436I’ve been there quite a few times on my way to LA. My dad is from a small town in Alabama and he swore it was the best place ever, and I always hated going to visit my grandparents that lived there. There will always be something to dislike about a place you live, no place is perfect. Las Vegas and Barstow may just not be the right city for you.

Okay so I’ll this, I lived in LA the first 37 years of my life and now I’ve lived in Vegas the last 10 years. What I love about Vegas compared to LA, cost of living is definitely cheaper, that’s true and gas is cheaper here too. There are reasons why LA is better than Vegas too though, such as the weather’s nicer year round, not too cold in winter, not as hot in the summer. What I’ve remembered about LA, is the state is way more worker and tenant friendly. Look the Unions in LA are much stronger compared to Nevada, because Nevada is right to work state. Stronger Unions means better jobs for workers. As a tenant it is somewhat harder to get evicted in California, that’s a plus if you’re a tenant. Unfortunately Nevada is way way too Landlord friendly here, that’s a huge negative imo, but the lower cost of living does balance it.
is this why there's so many crazy drivers on the road. i've noticed recently that its getting real bad. my gosh the people are crazy the way they drive. i'm almost side swiped every time i drive. WTF?
