The jewel in the crown of the premier sporting precinct in Melbourne’s North will now shine even brighter with the unveiling of a new retractable show court grandstand.
The La Trobe Sports Park Stadium, which attracts an average of over 10,000 community members to the Sports Park precinct each week for a wide variety of sport competitions, events and research, has officially re-opened to full capacity with a new 1100-seat retractable grandstand installed within Court Hall 1.
The installation of the retractable grandstand enables the La Trobe Sports Park Stadium to host large-scale indoor community and professional sporting events that require a show court facility, without losing the functionality of the six high-ball courts that host a range of sport, active recreation, teaching and research activities.
