Objectives:
• To get familiar with Shapefile
• Learn how to manage and edit data in ArcGIS Pro
Data:
• Download the latest population data of all states (Table: B01003, ASC-1 Year Estimates) in the USA from Census data.census.gov/
• Download the latest TIGER Shapefile of all states in the USA from Census www.census.gov...
Steps:

3. In ArcGIS Pro, find the downloaded files and drag both files to the project.
4. In Analysis/Tools, search and open the Join Filed tool. Join the table to the shapefile based on the common field.

7. Field calculation
7.1. Add a new field, name it pop_dens, and data type double.
7.2. In the attribute table, select the pop_dens file, and right-click and choose Calculate field.
7.3. We want to calculate the population per square kilometer. Type (!pop! / !Shape_Area!)*1000000 in the formula.
