My grandmother used to make hers in bacon grease and OMG there are no words! They were good with baked beans for supper they were great for breakfast they were good for a light lunch and a snack! :-)

I'm definitely going to. I was born and raised in Texas and we had what we called Fried Cornbread....like a pancake, but I never had this. I can't wait! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

She got it right but I and my Mom and Grandmom made it a little different but kinda the same and is the BEST thing in the world!! A little thinker is better in my book!

Those thick ones are good with onions in it. You also use a couple 2 tablespoons flour and hot water. It is called Hot Water Bread.
