I notice a lot of people back stepping into the heal hook and making it worse for themselves. Watching these videos are great for learning. Something for me look into. Some talented people in that bunch too. Thanks for the video.
What’s amazing about his game is that it is just skill dependent. Even Gordon who isn’t explosive or athletic is still super strong. This man could do this style when he’s 45. He doesn’t even look like he’s using any strength. So damn smooth
The guy who comes in at 5:00 knows his shit. Nice detail at 6:50 onward on how to latch on to a leg and get the heel by inverting for just for a split second.
Holy shit, Lachlan. You used that figure 4 biceps guard from the grapplers guide in your game 😱 Edit: and that K guard entry from guard retention is gold
90% of people dont have that level of flexibility so his guard retention and everyone's guard retention is going to be different unless you can get your hamstring behind your head. Still a great instructor though definitely looking into his leg lock dvd. Or Craigs....
Coach I keep getting put into guillotines and then swept with the sumi gaeshi when I go for double leg takedowns; is there any way of preventing this counter to the double leg?
TheShundal do you need the BJJ Fanatics discount code for your “Sense of Humor” system? Comment was 5 months ago and only a joke. Have a good one, mate!
AndrewJiuJitsu his name is Patrick Ybarra. He is a pro mma fighter Legacy Vet with a 7-1 record. I am proud to say he is my first blackbelt and intricate part of our team. His knowledge with leg locks has elevated all of our games. Blessed to have him on our team
You don't need to do that to do BJJ and not everyone is capable due to flexibility required, but it's a great tool to have to set up attacks, recover guard, mitigate weight difference. A lot of smaller, more nimble guys adapt this movement to have greater success over bigger stronger opponents and its annoying as hell to deal with this type of players.
@@quinntolchin3080 Quinn they don't get to finishing positions without deliberate intention of getting into those positions. It's not like some gamey garbage
@@Blueblackngold I have seen that a few times where I train from people that have cuts on their feet to prevent infection, but the one guy near the beginning had two socks on...
Nah dude was fine, he had nice heavy pressure passing but was controlling everything and didn't look like a spaz imo. Plus Lachie hardly seemed to mind so no point get worked up on his behalf
He looked pretty controlled to me. Besides, there were several points during that roll during which Lachy could have ended the roll with submissions other than the inside heel hook.
Love the fluid rolls. I feel that these guys are being way too careless with their legs against probably the best leg submission player in the game. All in good fun. Terrible choice of music though I must say.
Maybe some people were giving him too much respect though. As long as they don't hurt him it's all good, I'm sure Lachland appreciated the roll. We learn to go about the same intensity as the other person.
