The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at the intersection of Ventura Blvd and Lemona Ave. Light Force 88 was first on scene on the 15000 blk. of Ventura Blvd reporting an abandoned strip mall with heavy smoke showing.
Firefighters forced entry through the board up to access the fire which was well established.
A total sum of three task forces were requested.
Firefighters fought the fire from the interior, exterior attic vents and from above with ladder pipes. Firefighters skillfully protected exposures on multiple sides of the structure.
It took 75 firefighters 80 minutes to gain a knockdown on the 80ft x 35ft heavily boarded-up abandoned structure.
Arson investigators are investing the cause.
