It was a good game. Though some of the gameplay was ultra frustrating. One of the elements that really bugged me was the length of the sword. You literally have to lay on top of the enemies to hit them, it was even harder to gauge the hits when you were facing north. Catchy tunes. That is one reason I liked the SNES so much more then the Genesis at the time, because of that beautiful sounds that came from the SPC700
This game brings back so many memories... was basically this and Zelda a link to the past on snes that got my into RPG's... and why oh why dont they make games with this type of music anymore?.... old times were so much better ^^
This game is LEGEND, love the memories it brings back from childhood playing this shiiit. GENIUS FUCKING STORY, GREAT FUCKING GAME. Hell I was thinking about playing it again sometime.
lol yeah I don't really know what I was thinking when I wrote that, I figured it out later. I was like "duh". I played this game when I was little and pwn'd it, surprising I had the attention span to run through the seemingly endless dungeons when I was 6. I must have been a video game prodigy when I was young. I just recently made it to the last dungeon and realized that I passed up a sword somewhere, I didn't know that was possible :P
0:32 That blond-haired Thor (in Lagoon on SNES) is one of a few video game characters with heterochromia (different-colored eyes ... quite fascinating)
Holy..bejesus...an argument solved...on youtube? *major applause* you two seriously rock. lol I have NEVER seen that happen. Anyways I have yet to play this game though I have a huge collection but my friend is bringing home a copy today. Freaking awesome
@MrTouchShriek Thor here is probably inspired by a character called The Goblin King as portrayed by David Bowie in the movie Labyrinth. I've also seen this persona in yet another anime feature which I cannot quite recall... Oh, and here's a bit of trivia for metalheads; check out the walls of Lagoon Castle: Eddies Face adornes the walls with one eye flashing with the music, yes you have to see it to believe it!
Fuck that this game is amazing ! i remember playing it when i was 9 ! amazing music and a kickass storyline ! the only level i didn't like was the desert one haha
lol close enough. I call it a win. But yeah I saw the sword reach. I'm a secret of mana, kinda guy. But we have a device for the snes that not only plays foreign games but also does save state by 2 combo button presses to save and load, lol I'm sure it'll help
Cover art depicts a castle being sunk in a watery series of tidal waves. Token blond chick, one eye blue, other eye red (Before and after). Wait sorry, actually it went take a stand Redbull Matador instead of run away Airbud. Thank you Thanksgiving Thursday, gonna get some better house music. Thanks young version of myself for Blockbustering Lagoon. LA GOON, jump Valve!!! Thor, though you may have good intentions, you should never betray and abandon kin on treacherous ground, dog.
I often point to loose inspirations of songs to get an idea of what the sound would sound like. I point to Metallica's Master of Puppets as an inspiration. I imagine if you hired Metallica to perform this, youd think it was one of their songs. It just sounds like Kirk Hammett's guitar as a chiptune
