Setup changes:
- finally upgraded to the popular A90 combo of CSG C21+C11 (with fresh OE rotors)
- laguna pipes
Dear Diary,
This track day was a late sign up because I really wanted to test the changes on a dry day. Big boi track pads made a huge difference. The stopping power and better modulation allowed me to really dial in my braking zones, and there was no drop off despite non-stop hot laps. Cool conditions also meant no power loss. Other than some light dirt on T3 apex and a scary puddle next to the exit curb on T4, today was great.
As for the pipes, we initially had them pointed up and away, but I ended up blowing sound in the second session. Some folks suggested I point them down instead, and that seemed to work when I decided to let loose in the last session (or they didn't care anymore). People who have never blown sound on a 90db day were dinged today, which caused some frustration in the paddock. Rumor has it that going over the rumble strip is generating 92-3db, which was what I and a couple friends were clocked at, and they have never blown sound. I've been told the track is testing this theory next week because Porsche EV is coming to town. Imagine EVs blowing sound...

Nice. You also PB'd 14 minutes into your last session too! Definitely extra time to drop if you can get the same lap on your outlaps rather than end of session.

It's probably just in my conservative nature to slowly work up to speed. Maybe with the better brake setup I'll get up to speed even faster and be more confident from the get-go.

Hm I don't think they hit it that hard, or at all. I had also assumed they needed a tow, but there wasn't even an all black flag, so it looks like they were able to drive off.
