This is a superb walk of 6.75 miles.
The area around Siney Tarn, however, is wet with vague paths.
At the time of recording, there was also significant logging activity in Miterdale Forest and some of the tracks and rights of way may not be accessible.

My grandma always said I should go have a ride on the laal ratty and I said aye ill get round to it one day.. This is the first time I've actually seen it.. Incredible how they still have a railway line in this area.. I hope it makes enough money to continue.

It’s nearly always busy Dave. I’ve used it quite a bit to get into Eskdale. You should get yerself on it. You can do a good route over Illgill Head & Whin Rigg from the end station.

Make sure you have enough time to get the last train back though! I did it 10 years ago and got off the train at Dalegarth (Boot) and back on at The Green. I intend to do a similar route sometime over Easter this year, but include Boat How.
