In this video I have a quick afternoon fish at Lake Fyans in the Grampians for trout using the ever reliable mudeyes under bubble floats. Here I show everything you need to know if wanting to try mudeyes as bait for trout and we got a few nice fish too. Mudeye fishing is definately the easiest and most reliable method of catching trout at my local lakes and Lake Fyans is probably the easiest lake to fish for trout or redfin in my opinion ! Great vid, nice fish! Never used mudeyes as bait but I do catch stockies in our local lakes with a soft plastic mudeye under a float. Works real well when there is that chop on the water so the sp moves around plenty 👍

Thanks ! Mudeyes are hard to find atm, will be easier to get once we get some warmer weather. can buy them from people in the Ballarat/ Melbourne areas sometimes

Thanks for your vids, really enjoy them. I do 99% of my fishing in the sea but I enjoy a change and will be heading over your way in a few months with the aim of catching a big reddie. I have a question - on the vids it looks like you spool up with mono rather than braid. Is there a reason you do that or do I need to upgrade my monitor/glasses? 😀

@@Lunchtimelegend65 thanks for watching, glad you enjoy our stuff For the majority of our fishing we do use braid, however for Mudeye fishing we always use mono as we prefer its characteristics and stretch for this sort of fishing All the best ! Cheers Al

Nice Trout Al✔️ the one you keep would be Nice in a smoker. What striker scent did you use? The fish looked quite healthy. Did they put any Cod in fyan's ? See you on the next one 👍.

@@RippinReelsFishing always worth a go but I think it’s pretty low, the council has let a heap of water go out the weir again like they do every winter for some reason so it will be tough fishing
