Riding around Lake Tahoe is known as "America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride". The 72 mile loop is a spectacular ride and one every outdoor lover should put on their bucket list.
I've been hiking and running in the Tahoe area for years, but was really excited for the challenge of a 72 mile ride around the lake's gorgeous blue waters.
Come with me as I show you how amazing America's Most Beautiful Ride really is!

What’s really impressive is Biking 72 miles and taking incredible drone footage/ documenting your entire experience at the same time. Amazing.

Haven't seen any videos of how long it takes from the Bay Area to South Lake Tahoe, but I rode with a friend of mine (loaded down with camping shit) in two and a half days from Sunnyvale, CA in the 80's via Carson Pass. We then rode to Garberville and back home. Wonder if any has made it to Tahoe faster than that (carrying a good 50 lbs in panniers).

Thank you so much for this. Tahoe is about 2+ hours from Sacramento and some friends and I have thought about doing this for awhile. I've recently gotten into biking last summer and I'm trying to stay consistent by looking out for new adventures. At first it felt daunting just thinking about this ride, but after I got destroyed trying to scale the ups and downs of SF, I'm game for anything now. :D

What all is in the backpack? And did you find it necessary for the ride? I have got this one on my list, obviously the less one carries the more comfort

We brought water, food, rain jacket, and a warm layer. You don't need to bring too much really for this ride
