Do you have any idea what the codes are for residential roof strength would be for a brand new home? I would guess that it’s nowhere close to a 60 year record level because the cost would be prohibitive for that much water content. Your content is great. I watch Mammoth Mountain Life.
Thanks for the comment and kind words! I know Washoe county has a building code. I Don’t know what it is for snow load. But our roofs can handle about 275 pounds per square foot. About 10 ft of snow depending on water content. I think newer roofs can hold more but this q would probably be best for a roofer, builder or engineer to answer to be safe. This was almost record breaking snow so definitely not common in the are to have this much snow. It’s been a crazy winter!
