DLO reacted to Ham’s poor coaching. Imagine being on the court over 40 per game during the POs for a coach that could not make adjustments. Ex: Hachimura was a surprise last yr but a bust this time. When you can’t defend you should see your minutes drop but Ham left him in to fail. And the team suffered.

I honestly feel like they should run it back with almost the same exact team but with a different coach. Not just any Coach but an experienced one

I would target a POA defender. Try your best to see how much it would cost for alex caruso. If that doesn’t work you pivot. I would let austin run the point (because of his ability to get into the lane and draw fouls and his ball handling skills). Rusty buckets pointed this out and it made perfect sense. However the trade package will be something a bit different, but the idea of a POA defender in your starting linup that can shoot at least league average will work wonders. I think it can be done, but like you JSM rob has to take caution with how he disperses his assets.

What are your thoughts on Max Christie? Do you think Ham is unjust with managing his minutes? Come to think of it, our problem most in the regular season was rebounding and yet, we have a young 2 guard that plays well with our core guys. Why not give him more reps in the regular season where it’s a “marathon” to get him ready come playoff time? This is just one of the many things why we need a veteran coach someone who gives the young guys needed reps like what Vogel did for AR. Max is knockdown at the corner btw. Good rebounder for a two guard. Just needs a lot of reps with the stars

Hayes, Reddish and Wood opt in, they won’t get more anywhere else. Move has to be Dejounte Murray if DLo walks. Rui, Gabe and picks if the hawks stick with Trae over Murray. If he opts in LA should trade Rui, Gabe, and Vando for Jerami Grant and Robert Williams. 2 way wing and big fix a lot.

I would say I want Russell or James back. I think the team could be good with one or the other but both in the starting line up is a bad defense. If James leaves, Russell and reeves with a 3 and D wing, Davis, and a solid center could be a great team to build around Davis. Davis can lose a bit of weight and get back to how he played in 2020. With James, I would say move reeves to point guard and get a real center. 2020 line up was KCP, Green, James, Davis, and McGee/Howard. They can definitely build something similar with 4 good defenders to cover up James. Reeves can also do more than KCP offensively and is a good defender. Best wing starts. That’s gotta be a dude who can defend guys like Murray, Booker, ANT, etc In both scenarios, they won’t need to add much besides a center.

They're paying $18M to Rui, who's a huge liability on defence and average on offence. What',s wrong about paying $18M to Russell, who is mediocre defensively and unreliable, but streaky offensively and is good at pick-n-roll?

I would love to see this team healthy and with a coach who coaches. Let’s stop thinking about burning bridges and instead reinforcing them. This team needs continuity and consistency not a trade every time a player has a bad game.

We need a 3rd star on this roster especially if AD is going to be injured in the games that’s most important. I don’t know how realistic this sounds but it’s the only way we’ll be contenders again.

Bron will sign back probably his last contract 2 yr 120 mil with play option for 2nd year should he retire after next year. Rob and Jeanie would definitely give him that last bag for sure. Between him and AD, that’s already 120 mil. I hope the front office and you guys would be smarter than thinking about bringing a third star. I really think they should let Dlo go whether through sign and trade or letting him sign somewhere else. Keep Hayes, Max Christie and Reaves. I would go after Caruso, Kuzma, DeRozan and sign Dwight Howard or another physical big who can give valuable minutes against jokic and embiid and can get AD to play at the 4. I think they should go after Donovan Mitchell too if the salary cap can allow it.

DLO clearly wants to stay. But he played well enough to ask them to pay him what he's worth. Guys like DLO don't grow on trees and the amount they'd have to pay to keep him costs a lot less than what a third option averaging 18/6 and 42% from three on 7 a game could ask for. In fact that's one of the best third options in the league, and set the Lakers record for threes in a season while being the number 1 high volume 3 point shooter in the league. You do everything you can to keep DLO. Tell Ham to improve his Coaching Staff and get a better defensive assistant. If he doesn't,, let him go and find a coach that will. For less than $20M D'Angelo gave us 18.0 PPG | 3.1 RPG | 6.3 APG | 0.9 SPG | 2.1 Turnovers (career low) | Field Goal 45.6% | Three Point 41.5% (on 7.2 attempts per game) | Free Throw 82.8%. If someone tries to convince you or any Lakers fan that they can just 'replace' that with 6M during the off-season, or that the Lakers should get rid of that as a third option... they are Clippers/Celtics fans in disguise.

My thoughts are, the problem here is not D'lo. He's a perfect fit. I love what he does. Know I love this next player, but Austin Reaves is the odd fit, in my opinion. I admire his drive, high iq. But AR can't jump for shet. He gets stuck while on offense a lot and has to pass the rock. It disrupts the flow of the game. We need someone with no fear at that position. Oh, Dinwiddie, Wood, Reddish, Reaves can go. Run it back with the rest. New SG

Ham was definitely talking about Rui. Not Dlo. Although, we know Dlo and AR don't like him because of early in the season. Although to be fair to Ham both guys forced his hand early in the season with horrible play.
