This trade groveling is getting pathetic. Stop calling for trades just to see trades. A lot of these prospects we are talking about are either too expensive or awkward fits. Kuzma is absolutely not the answer. He has a career -1.1 Box Plus Minus which is BAD! D-Lo for comparison sake is 0.7 BPM (not great either by any means but def better then -1.1)! He’s a below average 33% 3P shooter since 2018-2019 (on 6 attempts per game). He’s 28% from 3 in 27 playoff games (4 attempts per game) for Lakers! He averages only 0.5 spg & 0.6 bpg the last 5 yrs in 31-32 mpg. He’s not a good defender (avg at best). He averages more TPG than APG in playoffs. In his career so far he has a -2.2 per 100 OnOff in regular season and -7.2 in playoffs! That means teams are +2.2/+7.2 per 100 BETTER when Kuzma is on BENCH! D-Lo for comparison sake the last 3 yrs has a +3.2 OnOff per 100 meaning teams are -3.2 worse when he’s off court. Kuzma since 2018-19 has bad net rating (104 per 100 on offense and 114 on defense! That’s like worse team in NBA bad! In the Playoffs it’s even worse 100 ORtg and 113 Defensive Rating!). D-Lo since 2018-19 is 111 ORtg which is WAY > Kuzma 104. His defense is bad just like Kuzma but even worst 115. Lakers giving aways Caruso & KCP will never not be moronic. Went from great defensive backcourt to one of worst in NBA. How does Rob have a job still with Bob Myers available or Tim Connelly from Nuggets couple yrs ago as well before Wolves got him?🤦🏽‍♂️🥴🤢 D-Lo, JHS, filler & an unprotected first for Kuzma would be a disaster. So I just read on The Athletic that Pelinka didn't even talk on the phone with Klay, only with his agent. Meanwhile, the Mavs GM was having dinner with him, to sell the franchise and their plan directly to him. Klay felt disrespected in Golden State. Unappreciated. What better way to show him love than bringing your top staff to meet directly with him and say the things he wants to hear? Being a GM isn't just texting numbers to an agent, you need to be a master negotiator and salesman. But Pelinka runs the GM job like a 15-year-old runs his franchise in 2K. I've been keeping up with the RL trades and acquisitions in NBA2K24, and just played a couple of games with AD and Brook Lopez as Twin Towers (switching between 4 and 5, and relieving each other during rest periods), and DAMN it was pretty to watch! They combined for 70 points, 35 boards, and had 4 or 5 blocks each. Good times, MAKE IT HAPPEN ROB! 😆

Rui and DLo are both significantly better than Dorian Finney-Smith - DFS is a scrub bench player who's never averaged more than averaged more than 11 ppg and that was a few seasons ago. Also, he's 31 and only shot 42% overall last season - we don't need another player like Vando who's a good defender but contributes minimal offense. We already have Vando to fill that role and he's 6 years younger and also more athletic than DFS.

The Lakers are in a decent spot where they are. They shouldn't make a move just to make a move. They should only make a move when there is an actual upgrade and good fit. As far as all the people calling for Rob's head - just about every year since he's been the GM, they've had a good off-season. Outside the RW trade that killed them, Rob has been a pretty good GM. Many of the recent Lakers seasons were lost to injury to Bron and/or AD.

My concern not trading Dlo is what kind of Dlo are we going to get this year? Last year he had all the motivation in the world to go perform so he could earn a new contract, played well in regular season trash in playoffs and no one wants him. Will he be as motivated this upcoming year? And knowing how likely he is to be traded anyways… scared we could get a terrible Dlo if we don’t move him before season starts. We will need another starting calibre PG tho which looks impossible to find so very concerning.

Trading Rui for Kuz is the dumbest

D-Lo had a "career year" and ended up back with the Lakers on a player option. He's been with the Warriors, Nets, Timberwolves, and I believe the Raptors. It's not like other teams just watched the play-off series vs. Denver and said "yikes."

We should’ve been developing our own Center to play next to AD years ago, instead of looking for a ready made one. The Warriors drafted Trayce Jackson Davis 57th last year, he ripped us a new one last year. At this point we might as well gamble on Castleton.

The laker can go over the hard cap. The penalty for fox would be very small. Dame time would be expensive. Garland is small. My point is accounting can tell you the date the penalty would be recovered. It also could be offset through other assets. There are no available trade scenarios that the Lakers get better. The trade market now can only make lateral moves. Pelinka wasted all the opportunities to get better. They missed on signing CP3 that secures a decent back-up point guard, with that you can have an option to wait for the trade deadline to find a better trade for DLo. They missed on signing Drummond or JV for a back-up big. Getting Klay was the only trade option where you can say there might be an improvement for replacing DLo. Better keep your young core of DLo, Reaves, Vando and Rui if there are no trades that can make significant improvement on each position.

Why give up both our starting guards for Markkanen when we could trade DLo and Rui instead? Especially since Rui and Markkanen are both PF's, so that would be an equal trade - one PF for another.
