Awesome! I’ve been watching your videos for a while and always love them. I feel bad because I never comment, and your videos deserve more. I have a DR and a DR-Z, but wife is 5’1” so we are figuring out a bike for her 😅. However, this beach vacation is excellent. Relaxation, amazing scenery, good whiskey, good food, and can’t forget about company.
Hi and thanks for dropping us a line 😃. It was a great camping trip, such a gorgeous spot. I am also 5'1" and it was a bit nerve racking at first to upgrade from the DR200 to the DR650, but definitely doable. When we rode to Vermont on our first bike camping trip, my DR200 didn't have enough power and it was a bit dangerous in some spots on the highway with traffic. My bike compared to Sebastien's bike feels completely different, just by adjusting the factory settings (no additional items). The lower seat made a big difference as well. I've had a few short riders (male and female) sit on my bike and they are very surprised how good it feels. If you check our other video at 1:07 it shows a comparison: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3P8jeKauzfc.html This one shows a different low seat upgrade (you do lose a bit of comfort but totally worth it in my opinion) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MfI34guVUR8.html And finally the kick stand adjustment (or buy short one) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z06l0phNTCg.html First time we traded bikes and I tried the DR650 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i1vIV2yGRZs.html Whatever bike she ends up on it'll be fun, good luck! *T4W*
@@Sum4Seb Thank you for a wonderful response! I apologies about delay, I didn’t see the YT notification for your response until now! My wife immediately felt better knowing you’re the same height, haha. It’s been a process for her working up the courage, but we can’t wait for the spring to start riding again and experimenting with different bikes she can test out. We were originally looking at the DR200 as well, but here in Maine like Vermont, a lot of the roads require being able to get up to 60-65MPH before shooting off for a side road. Great to hear you were able to make the adjustments without having the shell out the cash. Thank you for linking those up so we can check them out! I might do that as well for mine! Again, thanks for the response, we both appreciate it! Looking forward to your future videos when the weather warms up. Stay safe out there, and have fun!
