Lalah is truly an underrated vocalist. Her tone on this is insane! So rich and full of emotion! I really loved it! I didn't want it to end! This tribute was outstanding but Lalah's part was my favorite! Props on the arrangement too...Lalah slipped her voice slipped between the bass and the keys and it was OVER!!! Thanks a lot for posting!!
i can remember sitting on my couch, mouth DROPPED to the floor when she did this!!! I was like WHAT THE HELL!!!! She hit all kinds of notes in those runs and was NEVER out of key!!! i LOVE her vocals!!!! AMAZING!!! Somebody earlier sid it best "She is definitely her father's child!!!"

Let the record show that Lalah truly paid tribute to Ms Baker by taking her time to show us what could be accomplished with the lower register. Anita, Alicia, Lalah, Rachelle and Toni all have some oomph pa pa to their voice, but no one commands it like Lalah! U go gurl!

This is what you call someone who can really "sang"...not sing but "sang"...Her talent shows thru and is so effortlessly! I would love to see her live in concert!!!
Anita stood up at the end of that performance shaking her head in awe and I read her lips, she said: "Oh my God!". What more is there to say. Whenever I want to hear 'Angel, I come right back here to listen to Lalah's interpretation of it.

She's greatful for every performance/audience. She never says anything bad about any of the other cornballs in the industry. Donny's girl... beautiful but brings tears to my eyes. Star in here own right but I hear her dad every time she sings and that is sad and joyous at the same time (to me).

I love to hear Lalah sing this, it was very nice to see this video tribute to Anita Baker just with Lalah vocals. I time to time will pull up the tribute and go right to this spot. Lalah was in her moment when she song this song. Great performance I love it every time I her it over and over again!

Absolutely awesome!! I love Lalah Hathaway's voice..I really wish she would record that song so I can put it on my iPod! I can't hear it enough...it was a great choice to pick her to sing that r&b classic..
