After TONs of requests, I finally got around to doing a review on some LALO Tactical shoes. I heard about these shoes a LONG time ago, but just never felt like they would fit my training purposes, so I never tried them. At the end of the day, I think they're decent shoes, but just not optimal for my type of training. The Bloodbirds are great running/all terrain shoes, but the Maximus' more closely fit a CrossFit WOD where you need stability, but also the ability to move. I'm actually surprised that the Maximus' work as well as they do!

Great review. Being a San Diego native, I love supporting a local company and thus I own four pairs of these. My wife went to high school with Nathanael “Lalo” Roberti, the SEAL who started the company. But the shoes are excellent for my type of training, running, rowing, maybe some sled work, jumps, sandbags and weight training. I can do a half mile run in these without issue versus say a Metcon. I do love the Maximus version. All fit very comfy. My only problem is that since I use them so much, I wear out the sole before the upper is anywhere near worn. I hope that in a new version, they put a firmer\stronger sole material in them similar to what other brands have done.

I chose to keep the Maximus as my running trainer, I like the response and that it's minimal with enough cushion. I totally did notice before I did this review that the outsoles were wearing pretty bad for a shoe that I've only had for about a month. I would like to see them make a more serious trainer, profile like the bloodbird with an even stiffer midsole than the Maxmius.
