Ya know it's funny that Lamar is a "runningback" but was also called small for a QB when he was drafted. If he's small for a QB he's TINY for a runningback he would be retired by now if he did try to play runningback

@@slim0815you got it slightly wrong. He gained weight and muscle the last two offseasons bc he thought he might take more of a beating with offensive line down with some injuries but this season they’ve been great and has gotten tired quicker bc of it.

Just think about that. He basically got 10-20% better from the pocket this season and Baltimore looks untouchable

And the intermediate throws aren’t a new thing for him, he’s been hitting those intermediate throws (especially in the middle of the field) his entire career. With better route concepts and receiver talent, that skill was maximized this year

@@chosenone8964 yeah, the perspective that O'Sullivan brings is that the QB should prioritize throwing the ball before running. Which is correct. If a QB trusts his arm and his WR, then throwing the ball to an open man is better than running the QB 99.9% of the time. That is a FACT; it doesn't matter if your QB can run a 4.2 sec 40. I guarantee Lamar can throw the ball 40 yards a LOT faster than he can run that far and throwing the ball from a clean pocket puts his body at less risk. Remember that Kyler Murray tore his ACL when making a cut with no contact whatsoever. Throwing it is better than running your $55 million QB.

This guy is looking at it from a standpoint of a immobile pocket passer instead of the most dynamic dual threat the game has ever seen..

I don’t think he’s been over critical. I’ll get it back to the best side. I’ll take him taking him scrambling all day. To be honest I think that’s how the ravens win the rest of the playoffs. I’ve felt like he still need some work on anticipation and getting through progressions like Patrick, Burrow, and Matt. I think that what separates him from those in the passing area of his game. When or if he ever does fine tune that it will make him Unstoppable

@@blzraven27 do you think likely was going to get the touchdown on that play? Lamar had a better shot at it. Likely was going to have to beat 2 defenders to get the touchdown. Lamar just had to get some good blocks and run the right way. It was in my opinion strictly a better decision to run there.

That was probably just for Houston though because they kept leaving the middle of the field open and the spy on the outside to keep him from escaping the pocket and looking downfield like he usually does.

Never worry too much about the defense. Drafting key defensive players is our bread and butter. EDC will have that defense in good shape and the offense will be even better next year, and we still have room to grow with core. We got time too, our championship window is now open for the foreseeable future!

Lamar is no different than Lebron when he came into the league. Where they wanted to compare to him other players before him and they couldn’t because he wasn’t like them. Lamar is the same way. He isn’t like any other qb in the league because his running ability is literally just as good as his passing ability. He also has the knowledge because he’s played this way his whole life. These “analysts” want him to change to fit what they think makes a good qb, but Lamar is breaking the mold.

Yeah, because he is a rookie. Did it also noticeably in an earlier game with a TD throw to mark Andrews and he ran right into him and got trucked hard lol. And you see it in tape from time to time that he clearly doesn't know the route....but like I said, he is a rookie and learning the full playbook is one of the hardest things for rookies to lock down. Which is why its F'ing crazy that Lamar is doing what he is doing while his WR1 is a rookie. Not just in production but in actual playing time and even crazier having the passing scheme game plan being centered around a rookie. That is just not the norm, partly due to what was said earlier, usually don't want to put that much on a rookie. This is what separates guys like Lamar & Mahomes (who is also playing with a rookie as his WR1 this season), They can be competitive with less around them and elevate the talent around them. People are going to be in for a rude awakening in the coming years...because QBs that they already crowned are going to look totally different when the pieces around them downgrade due to their contracts kicking in. We just saw Allen not be able to get it done for years with a top 5 WR, it only gets worse for him. Joe burrow is not only guaranteed to lose Tee Higgins, but Chase might be gone too since Burrow took way more money than he should have (...and Bengal fans thought he was the humble guy that would take a discount...LOL). People don't even realize that you have never seen Burrow touch a field without some of the best WRs (PLURAL) on the planet...at the same time, including college. And as for Herbert...well lol, if you thought paying him early without ever seeing him accomplish anything was a good idea...ouch, you are in for a long disappointing career (Phillip rivers 2.0)

Just from watching him, he’s constantly keeping his feet ready to move if needed. I don’t think he likes being flat footed. You can see that when he can, he reestablishes his base, but he’s also pretty good at throwing off platform, or even in the air with a jump throw.

In the regular season he got to the backside on time I think not playing for 20 days had something to do with it because he didn’t look as comfortable first half

He’s got as much arm talent as any quarterback in the world. Which allows him to get away from this and be a polished passer from any release point.

The dude literally had a 145+ passer rating on throws of 10-20 yards this season. Highest in football.

Great QBs... Win. The game has evolved, and Lamar is confirmation that there are multiple ways to play. If you can't see that, then maybe check out Kurt Warner's writing about him.
