with hard fouls that considered as flagrant and for ejection in this era. But he never ever cried and instead shaped his body to be able to take the dirty blows in the paint. While LBJ always tried to flop.
@@coachbighead Thats facts All Hoopers call Mike the Goat even AI telling that for years even Kobe T-mac and Vince Carter etc. and non hooper says Mike is better than everyone based on what they watched and experience during his game
When jordan was moved to pg, he had 10 out 11 games with a triple dub with 7 straight. Also has the 2nd highest finals avg for assist per game for a series, only behind buck.
Kobe was the most talent player ever, he came off the bench for 2 years, was hurt 2 years and still scored over 33600 points. Name me another player who has done that in NBA history. You can’t!
Ima just say this..3 peat..retires to play a whole different sport..another 3 peat..6-0 in NBA finals..I'm not even talking about his other stats..stop playing! His mystique alone is far beyond any of his peers..shout out MJ the GOAT 🐐 frfr.

I despised MJ since I've bled purple & gold since Magic's rookie season. But without hesitation I can say he's the best my 20/20 vision has ever witnessed. Black Jesus had zero weaknesses. His mental was maniacal of killers in serial. He had impeccable fundamentals. And the athleticism raw as clapped cheeks with no jim hats. Pertaining to Sheed - today he'd be scary as Cardi B make-up free. He could stretch defenses, get buckets with back to bucket in low-post and he could defend with that Rodan over conquered land wingspan.
100% What you just said is how a KNOWLEGEABLE fan should say... I love Magic or Lebron BUT, I have an "EYE TEST" and I know a true baller when I see one. This does not take away from the others who were/are great but someone will always be better. As a baller you know who can REALLY hoop. And MJ can hoop.
I think we all waiting for someone to come in and just be just as exciting to watch like Mike. To make the NBA watchable again. I mean when ever you watched MJ, you never knew what he was going to do but you didn't want to miss it... I guess that's the only way to put it. Kobe is a great player. LeBron is, I guess. I wished he'd just be himself but he took busy trying to dethrone MJ. That window closed long ago. Play as long as you like.
@@howardhollis3533 Man, the wifey and I were just talking about that this morning. Of how desperate the Association is for another MJ. The ratings were at their peak when MJ played. Even the casuals tuned in to watch that alien. The guy was electrifying. I watched him a few times in person and the buzz in the arena was like nothing I had ever witnessed. Closest thing was watching Tyson in person in Atlantic City vs Spinks. In my opinion the window for Bron was snugly shut after that Chernobyl reactor size meltdown in 2011 NBA Finals when he was outplayed by a low-fueled jet of a role player. Against an inferior foe. In 4th quarters Bron choked like Spree did Carlesimo.
@@Joshdifferentstop putting the triangle offense on a pedestal!! Lebron couldn’t be coached to learn the triangle because he know more than everyone in the league!! All y’all Lebum fans do is just make excuses all the time.. now think of another excuse!!
Literally the only player whose numbers went up playing with Lebron was Kyrie. And that's because Kyrie was in his 3rd year everyone's numbers go up from their rookie season. Everyone else numbers go down actually
I'm sorry, but Lamar's take is insane! SNEAKERS!!!?? How about Mike is better because he was the foundational piece for the greatest basketball dynasty since Russell? Took Chicago from a basement dweller to the most watched franchise in NBA history, while having more regular season MVPs than Kobe and LeBron combined, and the same amount of Finals MVPs as Kobe and LeBron combined?
-- lol, i will defend Lamar on this Sneaker take. OFC MVPs and Chips mean way more in defining the GOAT. But the x-factor in the GOAT debate? Sneakers. MJ made $330M in ONE year. Why? Bc MJ is the GOAT (not b/c of his sneakers. The sneakers are symptom of his greatness).
All MJ has on Kobe is More MVP’s a D player of the year award and 1 more ring. Kobe has him in all other statistical categories, points, rebounds, and assists, and Lebron does as well. Kobe didn’t play that many more games than MJ, 274 games to be exact.
G. Hill, Penny, Dream, Shaq, GP, Kemp, Stockton, Malone, Pat Ewing, KG, Robinson, Drexler, Mullin, Sprewell, Tim Hardaway, Zoe, LG, Kevin Johnson, Chuck and Reggie Miller were no slouches.
They talk about Jordan's competition but if kobe or lebron went thru a stretch where they were beating EVRYBODY. Where nobody was eatin....their competition wouldn't look as daunting as ppl pump up. Jordan was the boogeyman. U win when he leaves.
@@Getloose360 way more than that but he got the point! these youngins have no idea how great sports was in the 80s and 90s! sports has become so soft that we really talking about rookie WNBA players gettin pushed when weve seen way worse in sports! its about sensationalizing a story it aint about the sports anymore! thats why they hyping up this soft era
Ak.. just talk hip hop.. you lost me when you said Jordan had no competition!!! Lebron will never an I mean never be on Jordan’s level period. Jordan is the greatest winner ever, lebron is the greatest whiner ever complete difference.. lebron has the most turnovers in NBA HISTORY!!!! Please talk about this.. without any excuses..

To say he has no chance to be on his level is crazy bias .. it’s clear you only factor in wins …and if that’s the case bill Russell is the best winner dummy
Charles Barkley & Karl Malone got MVP in a MJ Championship year And Magic got an MVP when MJ was the way better player that year So there was obviously players on MJs level MJ took it personal and became greater than the MVP of those years

@@curtis0074 you are absolutely correct Past generations always getting discredited just to boost more current players or childhood favorites If MJ and all those you mentioned were in todays era they wouldnt be looking at them in the same way In a 3pt era any player prior to 2000 is looked at with an asterisk it seems
I wish Odom would have went through the rosters jordan went through. How many hall of famers did he STOP from NEVER winning a ring when he was winning. Nobody else could win when mike started winning and how difficult it was that he made look easy he never lost or went to a game 7. Reggie Charles Ewing Drexler Kemp Payton Karl Stockton Penny The list goes on and on
Ak with the typical casual comebacks. Can’t knock Jordan so they attack his era and “competition”. Lebron still has lost with super teams in the most weakest defensive era ever. And another Euro plumber may win the chip in a few weeks.
@Gorillajawz when you're competing, you gotta have that mindset. Only after did he give MJ his real props. He knows how hard it is to to lead the league in scoring let alone win a championship in the same season (never done it).
Can we get a pause on that comment but back to Lamar talking about basketball. Hes absolutely right about the shoe impact. As the shoe is the legacy and Jordan's legacy lives through his brand and its been almost 40 years of sheer dominance in the game that his brand is bigger then almost Nike itself, For example his logo on the NBA jerseys and multiple Jordan athletes. It speaks volumes about how he is still seen and respected.
Stupid kids thinking the 80s and the 90s players are trash. Yet 2 dominating players today, Luka and Jokic, are like the 80s and the 90s. Players then may not be as athletic as today, but they are definitely smarter. Just as Lamar explained the pick and roll today.
The competition back in the 80s-90s was just as hard if not harder than it is today. I'm 46 years old and I lived it and witnessed it. I'm not some 20 something who just started watching basketball in 05. I've been watching basketball since 86-87 so I'm speaking facts not opinion. I'm not biased towards my era either because I don't really care. I know how great the NBA was and I know how great it is today. Since I experienced both I can say that some of the players back then would be max contract players today
This isn't even a debate. Kobe tried to do everything like Mike. Jordan is so much greater Kobe didn't even try to be himself.... plus Jordan was just better at literally everything basketball related
@@javorisborden24 I never played sports bc I think Jordan was better than Kobe..? Hahahahahahahaha... Oh no...not a fanboy. Next thing you know I'll be a casual too... and to think you had to go back and edit that sentence.
Many of today's basketball players would not be known 25 years from now by a new generation of fans. They would think that Lebron, KD, Jokic and Kobe were the best players competing against each other. Many other great players would be forgotten. That's what happened during MJ's time. Many NBA fans today think that MJ had less competition.
Crazy how non pros talk about competition, I.e., skill level of former pros…like the players from the 80s & 90s weren’t p,aging ball at a high level. Odom, as a great player, respects former great players.
Honestly, I saw all three guys play. Guys didn't look that good during Jordan's run because he was just so much better then everyone else. Not even close. That's why it's so funny when they have the Jordan vs Bron debate. If you merged Kawhi and Westbrook together you would have MJ.
The moment someone brings up the era or competition during the GOAT debate, I immediately lose respect for them and know they’re a LeBron fan trying to change the narrative. Kobe, Shaq, KG, AI, and Tim Duncan played during Jordan’s second 3-peat era. Those same players won NBA titles during the LeBron era. So stop using that logic to justify why your favorite player is in the same league as MJ. Not statistically. Not in accolades. Not in impact. Not in culture. Not in skills. Not in the eye test. There’s nothing you can point to that puts LeBron ahead of Jordan. If you want to use longevity… okay. But you’ll have to accept that Jordan accomplished more in 14 seasons than LeBron has in 21.
MJ is the goat based on the Grab the Bag factor. When there was the opportunity, he never missed, 6 for 6. Additionally, who could we say had the gracefulness and creativity that he had??? All while dominating a game via scoring and defending!!! Bron can hardly dribble when he gets challenged… he’s not my goat. He passes it off in the clutch… not the goat… he can’t shoot FTs… not goat qualities…. Needs multiple stars on team to win and still loses…. Not a goat quality… no reliable not patented midrange move or shot… not a goat quality. C’mon folks, stop playin’!!!!!
Stop saying LBJ makes everyone better, it's not even true. Look at Love, Bosh, Wade and Ad's stats and performance after teaming up with LBJ, nuf said.
Mike is the goat, because that entire generation that came from his dna was considered the golden age. Kobe, vince, tmac, ai all those guys wanted to be like him.
I wonder if some of these sports content creators are just feigning ignorance or they really have poor research habits. A 3rd option can be that some of them really just don’t get IT.
Charles Barkley & Karl Malone got MVP in a MJ Championship year And Magic got an MVP when MJ was the way better player that year So there was obviously players on MJs level MJ took it personal and became greater than the MVP of those years
Leddidy's about to begin his 22nd season and the loser still hasn't caught up to Michael's 11 full Bull seasons and he never will even if he plays till he dies. An entire hall of fame career still separates Michael from lediddy. 2 rings, 2 fmvp's, 1 mvp, 1 dpoy award, 9 all defensive first teams, 9 scoring titles, 3 steals titles, 2 3peats, 2 slam dunk titles, the list goes on and on plus Michael never lost 3 games in a row from 1990-1998 while playing full seasons and full games even as a 40 year old. Lediddy lost and missed more games last month than Michael in a decade. We're done with lediddy
These younguns with this “competition” talk, you can tell they didn’t watch Jordan. The golden era had some of the greatest players ever and was no slouch. Larry Bird called Michael Jordan a god. The level of competition means nothing to a god.
Kobe was nowhere near MJ's level as far as talent, status, or accomplishments. Compare Kobe to Jerry West and Iceman and take out the championships. Those two were better than Kobe. MJ was a complete player and Mike's assist averages would be in the top 20-25 today. He wasn't as selfish as some claimed.
KOBE LOST with SHAQ PAYTON MALONE etc..THE SAME year 2011 MAVERICKS WON THE TITLE they SWEPT KOBE in the WCF..ONCE JORDAN got to the TOP he COULDNT be BEAT..I love KOBE but JORDAN u was NEVER despite COPYING EVERYTHING ABOUT JORDAN 😩😩
KOBE PLEASE..U CANT TAKE EVERYTHING from JORDAN even how he CHEWS GUM down to ANSWERING QUESTIONS..TRYING to be FIERCE in PRACTICE LIKE MIKE and at the SAME DAMN TIME CLAIMING you’re BETTER than JORDAN 😩😩
I dont agree with Lamar. You argue like Lebron's clowns. Whenever you use a point that you have to change when a great is mentioned, that point is not valid. What made MJ is the GOAT is eye test, he was called the GOAT by the some of the greats ( Magic, Bird , Isaiah Thomas) before he won a ring, imagine that. Imagine that Kobe, Shaq or Duncan were calling Lebron James the goat in his first 3 years
I really don't understand the lebum "makes everyone better" thing when the stats and play of all his team mates took a dive instantly when put with lefraud. Another thing,we all knew Wade, Irving, Bosh, Lowe, AD, Westbrook, Carmelo etc before they player with your self proclaimed king, they were already superstars and/ franchize players. Who knew Pip, Kukoc, Longley, Kerry etc before they played with MJ? The only 2 players who were star calibre, not superstars or franchize players, were Rodman and Pip and the last grew with MJ' s help. And the IQ thing, let's stop thinking lefraud knows how to play, If so, with this much floor spacing he shouldn't have so many turnovers and miss layups and open shots, nobody's defending him lol
Who is this clown host? There are so many transitive players that played in MJs era to Kobe to Lebron's. Ray Allen played against MJ and Lebron. Saved Lebron's legacy so he wasn't good enough? Baron Davis said an old John Stockton still schooled him his rookie year, so this guy thinks Stockton wasn't good enough? Does this host even know 2023-24 NBA season had the highest number of G League players in NBA history (50%), so it means these players weren't good enough out of school and needed more basic training. 😂😂
They just don't know how many greats played during Michael's era and even before......rofl.....they took Artis Gilmore off the greats list and put AD on.....lmao....even just stat wise he isn't even close....Gilmore would have destroyed AD.....bigger.....stronger....a fucking iron man.
I hate the competition argument 🤦♂️🤦♂️💯 first, different game different rules so we dont know who had better competition cuz teams were formed for those rules and these rules 💯 but how good u think a guy is on the opposite team... dont make Lebron better than Jordan 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
People are literally making an excuse for passing the ball.....it's a reason why you passing the ball.....the participation green ribbon era....knock it off...Like Mike...not like Kobe...Not like LeBron..
Jordan had the same access to training programs, equipments, and basketball knowledge as his competitors in his era. Jordan wasnt a freak of nature at 6'6, 195-220 lbs so he didnt have the aize advantage over all of his defenders. He played during the big man era when real PFs and centers were guarding the paint. So this argument that he had no competition is lame and stupid.
This guy with the hat always interrupts Odom. Keep quiet man you are not an NBA player that experienced how to guard other NBA players and keeps on interrupting an NBA player trying to explain coz it is not Lebron .
Casuals and kids that grew up with NBA2K think there's a goat debate. These kids even try to superimpose NBA2K stats on real players. You'll hear them say a real player is trash because they beat them in 2K. They are a joke.
I see this dude has an issue with interrupting and being irritating bro , I cannot no longer watch any of this dude podcast ... And this is just my second time watching today after this I'm done ... 🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾
MJ is the benchmark in making teammates better. He instilled a winning mindset in his team. There’s no way the Bulls would’ve made it to the semifinals without that mentality. 📐
