I often get told I can't be a "real/true" animal lover because I eat meat and I hate it. I rescue animals in need and treat all animals with care and respect. If every farmer was like Sandi I'd feel a lot happier though. Hopefully people get what I mean with this comment 🙃 Thank you Sandi for being an amazing example of how the industry could and should be 💖
Someone put it to me this way. "It is my Job as a Farmer, and a carer to make sure they only have ONE Bad Day. Until then I will Love them, and feed them and give them Everything they need. And I will Cry over the losses, and It will tear out my heart, but THEY will only know ONE bad day."
And if those animals are treated this way, then they had a pretty damn good life. The people who advocate for THIS are the ones I can get behind. Having meat animals have 1 bad day. Should be on a t-shirt.
Susan's comment brings out the mama bear in me. I'm a retired nurse who's been watching Sandi for at least 4 1/2 years. She couldn't possibly work any harder, I worry for her body holding up to the tasks she demands of it. Sandy's compassion for her lambs & sheep is stellar. We should all be so fortunate to have nurses & doctors caring for us humans the way she does for her flock. Go ahead & be a snowflake but don't bother Sandi or us, her loyal followers with your unrealistic view of life. We have the utmost respect for Sandi & don't tolerate trolls 💕💕
Agree those are the same kind of people who rely on others for all their food and healthcare. They don’t even have a kitchen garden or basic knowledge of biology. I ignore them for their stupidity. Isn’t worth my breath to try to educate them.
I’m a vegetarian and I’ve never eaten a bite of lamb in my life. Never will. But I happily watch this channel, look forward to the updates, and am fully aware of what these lambs are raised for and where the little boy lambs like Mattie and company actually go. It is okay to love honor and respect these lambs as animals and also raise them for meat. In fact, it’s a damn shame if anyone is eating meat that was not once an animal that was honored and respected while being raised. It’s okay to feel connected to all those “good mamas” who raised all the cute lambs and then one day aren’t in the breeding barn and aren’t in the golden girl’s pasture either. Not every animal in the world can be a pet. If you eat meat in any form, you have no right to get huffy about how a farmer in the meat industry raises her animals when the animals are cared for, treated well, and live a good life. Save your pearl-clutching for the farms you don’t see, the ones whose meat you probably DO eat, the ones who aren’t on RU-vid. That’s where the animals are in horrible conditions and neglected. Go get up off your couch and do something about those farms. Sandi is doing fine.
Hey Sandy. It's tough when people send comments that disregard us as a whole like that comment did you. I think that commenter fails to understand that every day when you eat anything you are terminating a life. When she eats corn, like what you are also farming, that life is being ended when it's getting ripped from the stalk. It is not allowed to live its full life beginning to end on the stalk. Because lambs look more like her as a human she will protect them more. But alas that's the story of us humans, our reflection or similarity we most try to protect and think has a consciousness like us. But corn doesn't. Wait until the woman hears about the research on plants having conversations, vocabulary and community. The most recent research is that scientists figured out mushrooms speak to each other and have identified 50, mostly weather related words of warning they speak to each other about. I'd wonder if some words are about the vibrations of the earth when humans are walking and creating what would be an earthquake to a mushroom and warning each other. And that's just 50 words scientists can decipher right now. I also hope she doesn't own any wood furniture because trees have "communities" and family type relationships. I'd wonder what's on her playlist otherwise too. Hopefully she doesn't also watch Real Housewives and then send you a comment she is disappointed in you. That absurdity would be frustrating.
That was my thought, too. There are some really, really, awful farms out there, who treat their animals with outright cruelty. If people eat meat, this is how it should be raised.
@@dariasmeh It’s not just the life of the corn, it’s also the life of many of the insects, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals that make their home in a corn field. Industrial harvesting of plants still results in massive loss of animal life. A 2018 study estimated that 7.3 billion animals a year are killed harvesting crop land in the USA every year - and this doesn’t include insects.
I think you take excellent care of your sheep. I don’t like thinking where they go, however I am not a vegetarian and I love meat and lamb chops. I’m grateful to those that can do this.
Yes they do, they want to graze on green pasture. This is factory farming with a teethy smile. There is no grazing land around them. It is all work land. Sickening that so many people don't see this for what it is.
@@5GreenAcres You would rather have the sheep out on green pasture. This is in Canada....No green pastures for 6 months out of the year. Again.... Canada...where the other 6 months is extreme winters with deep snow, extreme cold and winds. And predators such as coyotes, fox, eagles, hawks, owls, bobcats that would snatch up a newborn lamb in the blink of an eye. Or feral pack of dogs that will chase and maim or kill both adult and young sheep just because they can. Not to mention more exposure to disease and injuries that would happen when pastured. Sorry but housing them in a controlled, comfortable, safe environment is much more humane!

Goat is the name of a ewe that kind of looked like a goat. She died from a wasting disease called Madie Visna, I believe. I'm not certain of the spelling, pronunciation or if it's the correct disease. I think it happened around 4-5 years ago.
It's was Maedi-Visna that our sweet "Goat" passed from and I believe it was just a couple years ago. It hadn't been that long. She was so sweet and Sandi cared for her so well until the end ❤
That's just one of the silliest comments, in caps no less, that I have ever read! You spoke about lambs in your comment and everything! People are so quick to judge! They could have asked you what you meant and learned about Goat (which you even capitalized her name) in a good way instead of being, hopefully, ashamed for the way they acted. My father died of a brain tumor in 2006. The only thing he had an interest in eating after diagnosis and chemo was lamb. It was hard to find. I am grateful that someone raised the lamb and provided it. It helped him through his process.

A thought came to me while Mark was looking at the field, about how many people who don't actually know what it takes to farm think farmers are dumb. Farmers have to be botanists, veterinarians, pharmacists, geologists, engineers, etc. like, a successful farmer is incredible intelligent. Especially now that there are college courses that enhance the knowledge past down through generations. In short, respect the people who grow your food.
Add mechanic, woodworker, bookkeeper, and knows a little about the stock market commodity futures. Farmers just also need to be able to fix things in a hurry, hopefully without it costing too much and using what is at hand. There is little time to wait on parts. Farming is a business. Farming depends on weather and timing. There is a very short windows each year to get seeds in, and to get ripe crops from the field to storage.
So... If the sheep are not for consumption, what are the 1,000s of lambs/sheep for!?!? Not really a market for companion sheep or service sheep instead of service dogs. Yes. I’ve tried telling people before - if you’re calling for an end to animal farming, you are calling for the extinction of all domestic animals. Cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens - all of them would be gone. Yes, there are industrial “farms” that absolutely should be called to account, but the animal rights folks always seem to target the smaller farms who are actually trying to do things right. It is the fate of every thing that lives to eventually become food for something else.

I was amazed when school children were asked what a cook held up and they didn’t have a clue that it was a potato but most knew that a french fry was potato… a friend wouldn’t eat vegetables from the garden because they were grown in the dirt and therefore dirty. 😜 Without ranchers and farmers we would starve.
These are horrible conditions. If an animal is not able to go outside in sunshine and graze that is inhumane. Sheep are grazing animals. There are many homesteading sheep farmers and none of them would think to have their beautiful animals locked up 24/7 and not be able to be out on grass. Horrible!
@@5GreenAcres Sandi’s climate is not conducive for sheep to be outside more than a few months a year, and on top of that, she doesn’t have the grazing land for it. Not to mention her mortality rate would be much higher (just have to look at the Sheep Game to know that). People have adapted farming to their climate for as long as people have farmed; that’s all Sandi does.
@@khills Lol, the sheep farmers that I know personally are in Wisconsin. We only have the spring and fall for grazing too. You made my point...They don't have grazing land. Therefore she should not have grazing sheep. Sheep are grazers. Thats all that puppy mill people do to. Also, sheep can be out in the winter. They have fur to keep them warm. Wool. I can tell you must be a city person. Only city people would think this is ok.

I've said this to countless people, if you're going to eat meat, why wouldn't you want it to be raised with love and care? Like, we used to pay waaaay more to get butchered cows from farms that were raising those animals with love and care. Is it ALWAYS possible? No. But like, your babies are loved. For the time they're alive they're loved and cared for. Isn't that all we can ask of for anyone?
Until watching your show I never realised how old lambs are when they are sold for meat. I like that you are so kind and compassionate with your lambs, just because they are likely to go to an abattoir doesn’t mean they aren’t treated well
Sandi you need to know that some people are just blind, either them just actually being dumb or being willfully blind. Anyone who actually watches you knows that you are one of the most caring farmers ever. Good farmers care for their animals, no matter what they are for. That person was obviously one of the ones who watch just the cute lamb content and block out everything else like their life depends on it.
City people don't think. If a farmer doesn't have a market, they can't afford to raise the animal. Meat in the grocery store comes from somewhere, hopefully a farm.
We use to have a small pig farm many years ago. Even back then I hated seeing the animals go to market. But we ate our home grown pork. People need to stop criticizing our farmers. They grow what we eat. Or you can start eating bugs or lab created meat. Love you and family Sandi. You are doing great for your animals. I grew up as the daughter of a veterinarian in a small farming community. The reality of food production is just that, reality. I never knew a farmer or rancher that didn't care greatly about the care and wellbeing of their livestock. Animals have no concept of their future, nor their destiny. They have no understanding of what 5 minutes from now entails. They live in the moment, every moment of their lives. Farmers are tremendous stewards of the lives they care for and see to it that they are well cared for, happy and healthy. They respond immediately when issues arise and give their livestock the best care possible. I love watching this channel and seeing that the food I nourish my body with receives much the same care. Sadly a lot of people don't realize where their food comes from. My brother is a farmer and he became a farmer after he retired from the USAF because he realized how many people don't realize where their food comes from. He used to plant huge gardens on base and he had kids always wanting to help him. It was a good way to introduce them to fresh veggies. Now he's a sustainable veggie and chicken farmers in the middle of Iowa and he loves going to schools and having kids on the farm to show them what food production looks like.

As others have said - where do people think food comes from? Without farmers we would be in bad shape. We know you care for your animals as long as they are in your care. I'm just amazed that you and Mark seem to be going almost 24/7/. You definitely earned that vacation in Scotland!
Worked for a uni and at fair time we'd do a birthing tent, hatch critters, find cows/pigs ready to pop, etc. anyway had a dude say he stayed away from the white eggs bc those were manmade unlike the brown eggs bc the chickens made those....
I grew up in a farm environment knowing what happens to animals raised for meat and helping with the butchering of chickens, rabbits, and deer. It’s easier to understand the process but still have respect for the animals. I see you truly care for and respect your animals, you have a good heart. I know I’m preaching to the choir but you will never please everyone, so staying true to yourself is all you can do.
I think the end is the hardest part to watch. When they all trample up onto the trailer. I get attached to the babies as well. I also know that people need food. Not all of us can be happy vegans or even vegetarians. What I love about Sandi is that she cares for her sheep, she nurtures, protects, nurses and loves these babies from conception to the time they are unloaded from that trailer. Factory farming that produces most of the meat in the world is horrendous. This is not that! Most of these lambs only ever have one bad day at the end. Where as factory famed animals live an entire life of misery and pain. These are exactly the type of farmers that deserve our support.
Agree. factory farming is a national shame, should be drummed out if business. It is up to us, as consumers to buy meat products thoughtfully, and from local farmers. Meat should not be considered "nothing" but a good item that comes in cellophane wrap in a grocery store. Cruelty is unacceptable. Death isn't a bad thing. Same for humans!
It made me cry to hear those comments Sandi said someone made criticizing her for raising lambs for food. When Sandi has the lambs, they are treated so well and have a good life. She truly cares about her animals. Her life as a farmer is a service industry providing food for people.
The point is that your animals are treated humanely from beginning to end. That is what us animal loving meat eaters appreciate. Thank you for the touching compassion you show throughout their lives. I watch for that and for the science and technology, so i also appreciate the planting and harvesting segments. Drone has been a great addition!

My brother-in-law when I was younger once tried to convince me that Lamb is from the tiny little bouncing babies, since watching Sandi's channel I came to learn that he was a liar haha. And it's been obvious since the day I started I found Sandi that she cares so much for all of her animals! I'd rather see them raised with the love and care that she gives them than anything else

I get a spring lamb every fall from a man who lives across the road from me...I know he raises them with love and our local butcher cuts and wraps it to order...I don't have to see anything until I pick up my brown paper packages! Hypocritical animal lover here...😂
Absolutely. Best meat I’ve ever eaten has been from butchers with direct sourcing. Wish I was able to access it more, but unless I move back home (which isn’t an option due to ongoing health issues and needing closer access to clinicians) it’s harder to find and I can’t get to those stores.
I don't think anyone here was badmouthing farmers. The woman Sandi talked about certainly wasn't badmouthing her - she only said that she couldn't watch anymore because it bothered her that they were going to be killed for meat. That's not badmouthing anyone - it is a valid choice.
Tara addressed this as well and said that she thinks it is better if the farmer cares about the animals they raise. As opposed to the animals being raised by someone who doesn't care what happens to them. All good farmers care deeply about what they do, even the ones that process their meat themselves.
Sandi, you've certainly never hidden where the lambs end up. Americans don't use the word "abattoir." We use the word butcher. I like abattoir better. Honestly, where do they think food comes from? You are a good farmer because you treat animals with kindness and respect. As my father stated "Just because you are going to eat the animal (or use other products from them) doesn't mean you get to treat them cruely". My one uncle was a dairy farmer, he always treated 'the girls' kindly.
Mark amazes me the way he can read the soil to know when it's ready to be planted. It looks like those tiles are a never ending battle. This farming is not an easy business.
Sandy we recently found out my grandma has a type of bone cancer they cant do chemo for and I have been struggling but when I watch your videos it brings me happiness.
I find market day a bit hard but am grateful that is all you show. This is your business and you want to earn money to pay bills. Of course you do all you can to save the lives of your lambs because you genuinely care for them. Generally farms with livestock are producing food, your lambs are your livelihood and without caring farmers we would not have meat in our food chain. You do not need to feel guilty Sandi, you are doing a job and you are doing it well by loving and caring for your animals
I am Jewish, and we keep kosher at home. The main difference between what we eat and what everyone else eats is that we separate dairy and meat. So no cheeseburgers, no spaghetti and meatballs with Parmesan, etc. Everyone who keeps kosher has their own motivation for doing so. One of the main reasons we personally make a distinction between meat and other foods is to recognize that animals give their lives so that we can eat. We could eat an entirely vegetarian diet, but we choose to include meat from time to time. I appreciate that you care for your animals and that they live a good life. My hope is that all animals will be treated with the same kindness you show your own. Yes, we absolutely should be thinking about where that meat comes from. Dear Sandi, If I liked the taste of lamb or mutton, I would be a lamb/mutton eater and would hope and pray that the lamb/mutton I was eating had been born and raised on your farm because it would have had the best life possible for any such creature and been loved by you and Carissa before it reached the end for which it had been born. I am in awe of your work ethic and your love ethic regarding the animals you raise. You keep doing what you and Mark are doing because you do it so well, with such love, and we all need to eat. You can't please every viewer, when they go to market, you sell them as living creatures, you are not culling them. Most people understand that you loving and raising your animal, for market, doesn't take away from the care you put in to the care. Where else would people's food come from if it wasn't for dedicated farmer like Mark and yourself. We only survive as a human race because of farmers. So thank you.
Issue with vegans atm is, a lot of them (myself included at a time when I was vegan) believe that not eating meat will end the suffering of animals and 1. That’s not true 2. There never will be a world where people don’t eat meat. Instead we all need to focus on people like Sandi, who love, and care for every single soul that comes into her life until the day that they leave. Good farmers exist..they’re everywhere. This should be the main focus. Giving animals a good, healthy, full life until they go to the next stage. Every animal deserves the care that Sandi gives them ❤
I'm a vegan. You are right. I love watching Sandi and support her. It's my choice that I can't eat meat, but I think people that truly love their animals like Sandi should be supported more. People should have the right to see where their meat came from and how the animals were treated. Sandi is 100% honest with us and I respect her for that ❤

I would rather purchase food that is ethically produced than not. Often we only see meat in cellophane and do not know the story behind it. I appreciate seeing animals have quality of life. Years ago we were given a beautiful Navajo Churro that had lived on a small family farm being loved by visiting school children. His farm family could not eat him. So, we paid for his trip to the packer and our family was blessed by him. It is the cold hard truth that farm animals are in the end food. Not house pets. Thank you for crying tears over them and working so hard to care for them.

It is hard to watch you load the lambs for the sales barn. It does hurt my heart but intellectually I understand that we need to have food and I feel happy that they have had a good life and never would have been born if not for food. I feel the same way. I can’t watch the clips of the lambs being loaded for market but that is my issue. I am a meat eater and would love to know that all my meat was raised from farmers like Sandi. My grandparents were farmers and some of the hardest workers I’ve ever known.
When Sandi sells at the market sometimes the lambs are going to a new farm to become replacement rams and ewes for other farmers, as well as food….thank you Sandi and Mark for keeping it real and not a Disney storyline.

I don't eat meat,etc. but I do enjoy the channel...your compassion is what brings me back...and yes the guilt makes you human..never lose that! My cousins used to think milk came out of cartons....refused to drink once they followed me to barn to milk the cows!
You nailed the description of farming. It's a vocation and dedication to a life of purpose and fulfillment to raise food for others. Cattle, sheep, pigs, grains, vegetables, all varieties of food. You will never please everyone, please don't try. As a viewer and a never-a-farmer, I've seen this from you and your family for generations. I believe we all share that "guilty" feeling, but it is the circle of life. Be at peace.❤
Ms. Sandi, I've been watching you for a couple of years now. When Mark started showing you how the drone would add to your channel I wasn't much of a fan of them. Now, I LOVE THE DRONE FOOTAGE. It's just so picturesque and when you're using it in the barn it is so stationary as it gives us the whole picture. Thank you. God bless.

I've been watching your channel for a while now. After watching you weigh and ship lambs for months, one day it dawned on me that they are being sold for meat. But you know what, that's part of life when you raise sheep or cattle. I love watching your channel and have no intentions to stop. The babies are so cute. I cry with you when one of the golden girls passes, or when you try so hard to save those sweet babies and lose them. Keep being you .
I’m a vegetarian, an animal welfare advocate, and I love this channel (in a world where being a first generation farmer wasn’t so difficult, I think I’d love to raise sheep like you). Even though I choose not to eat meat that I didn’t harvest myself, I love this channel because it’s very apparent that you love and care for your animals, and it has given me a valuable and different perspective on farming. I really appreciate your commentary on this, and that you are respectful of multiple point of views. I think both farmers and people who prefer not to use animal products have more in common than either think (in terms of caring for the welfare of these animals) can both learn a lot from each other. And I definitely agree-even though it doesn’t feel good to feel guilty or sad over raising animals for slaughter, I think those feelings show that you care.
Sandi, I am thankful that you are as compassionate and caring as you are toward your animals. Not all farmers have such high standards. Thank you for allowing us to see a glimpse of your life. Seeing the things you have to endure (especially these last couple years with Jess) gives me the opportunity to pray for you and your family with more specificity. As a farmer & fellow shepherd, the hardest for me is the day the lambs leave my care. We sell to a broker and they go to sells barn. But its the day I dread the most. I have delivered them into this world, fed them, taken care of their medical needs played with them, slept with them. Those that were weak, cold, not being able to nurse from mom, I have held in my lap with a bottle to nurse them. I've clean their lil bums when they have had diarrhea. I've named a few but not often, because it hurts worst when they leave the farm. We keep a few for replacements. I respect anyone that does not eat meat, I understand that it's your choice. But most farmers are a part of the food chain in some way or another. Grain farmers are the people that start the process for bread wheat. Corn feeds the humans as well as the animals. Chicken farmers eggs and meat, cattle beef, so on and so forth. My point is this: Sandi has always, I mean always, been up front and transparent with what she does. This how most farms work. That first moment you realize that yes, these are sheep for meat did pang, but it’s undeniable how much you care and just getting to share your journey and all of your successes and heartbreaks, and watching those you do keep and their personalities makes it all worth while. You truly try to give them all the best life possible for however long they are with you, weather for a few months or years and that’s what’s special for most of us. Given the choice rather buy from farmers that truly care about their animals than farms where they are only seen as a means to an end
Yup, I hated that first moment of realization, too! But, after awhile, you start to realize how _huge_ their farm actually is! And how many sheep and lambs she is running through, and it makes sense (I still don't like shipping day, though!)

Have you be very, very careful when buying eggs. "Etthically" produced eggs do cost more -- but I can sleep at night. Not supporting chickens' terrible lives and relative bondage.
Interesting comment from viewer about lambs going to market. I am reminded that food on the table comes from hardworking people. I appreciate the work involved in raising protein, and I try not to complain about the cost at the grocery store. Thank you for all that you endure, working against weather and catastrophe.
Supporting your local farmers who grow your nourishment is the most important factor in eating healthy. The taste of the meat tells who cares, tender meats have loving raisers. I'm to the point that I can look at meats and never care to purchase them. Surprisingly, there are a lot of anemic animals sold for market, sad really.
27:04 the reason that I watch your videos, because I know that you breed to sell lambs for market. The reason I love your videos, is because every single one of them shows that you love and care for these animals, and they’re not just things to you. Seriously though, anybody who has watched your videos and know that you have a retirement farm for some of your sheep, should know that that is not the usual thing at all!
Sandy, I know some can't understand why you would raise lamb for food. But, I'd rather see these lamb raised with Love n kindness , by you, then in some places, where they treat each lamb without compassion n are treated badly, n just for food. People need food, your supplying hungry people, meals,.. if not by you. Someone else would. N most likely, abused n treated poorly.. You are serving an important service.. Sandi, I for one am grateful that your channel shows all the process of how the sheep farming works. I am from Arkansas, where we hunt and fish for our food sometimes. One time when we were out on west coast visiting our kids cousins, my son saw a squirrel running in a park, and he said how yummy that it would taste. His cousin was horrified that we would be thinking of eating such cute little animals! I asked her where the meat came from in the hamburger that we had the night before? No joke, my niece said, "From the store, they don't kill animals at the store ! So, thank you again Sandi, for being REAL with your channel!

Thank you Sandi for all you do. The massive amount of hours your family works for so many people. A very caring farmer as well. When I sit down to a meal and thank God for it. I also ask that God bless all farmers, truck drivers, factory worker, and grocery store workers. Everyone who works so hard to make sure people are fed. ❤
I have a small herd of Beef cattle. I am aware that any wieners that I sell have the possibility of being on a plate at some stage, I try not to think about it either. But, I was once told by an old farmer that they have one bad day in their life, just one and if they only have one bad day in their life and are loved and cared for the rest of it, then that's not too bad a life. So I make sure that while they are with me, they are loved and cared for and want for nothing.
I was fortunate enough to have a small farmer for a grandfather. He had 100 acres and raised cattle and a grain- sometimes wheat and sometimes corn. I always loved the farm. He also cut hay. My grandmother had chickens and they also had a garden and raised 2 hogs every year. I lived in a small city(30,000 people). Going to the country every two weeks was something I always enjoyed. It also showed me where our food comes from.❤️
That sounds very much like when I was growing up in Oregon. My grandfather and uncle farmed wheat and grasses (rye, orchard, etc). Also had chickens and a few dairy and beef cattle for their own use. Another aunt and uncle had some sheep and beef animals on a small farm. We lived in town, but every summer we had a big garden at Grandpa's home property. So we visited about once a week, and I grew up helping with garden chores, as well as gathering eggs for Grandma, giving the cows a scoop of grain while Grandpa milked them, etc. I even got to bottle feed lambs a few times. As a kid, I didn't always appreciate time at the farm. Looking back, I really appreciate all I learned, including helping my mom pressure can and freeze our garden produce. I have tremendous respect for farmers. ❤❤❤❤
You have beautiful property. I grew up on 2,000 acres. There are people who try to grow things & there are farmers. Farmers are born to do this & their love of farming & pride of their work, shows up in their fields & how they care for the land & their equipment. Well Done!! 👍🏼🤎💚🩵

I love that you went and got hubby and yourself the ice cream. I work at a University and i hear students talking about the SO and they all seem to want the grand gestures ALOT. What they dont understand its the little things, like buying your honey and ice cream, that mean so much more.

I live in Toronto. Without you, and other farmers like you Sandi, my city would not eat. Our Province would not eat. Our country would not eat. Our continent would not eat. Our hemisphere would not eat. OUR WORLD WOULD NOT EAT. We would also not have clothing, cooking oils and various other things. People make comments out of general... ignorance, stupidity, lack of knowledge, lack of empathy. But there are so many of us who appreciate you and what you do. Seeing how you raise your sheep is so amazingly heart warming and beautiful.
The fact that you care about the animals you raise is an important fact. But raising sheep and crops is for the rest of us to consume. Continue as you always have. You are definitely an empath, and that makes you wonderful at your job.
In Winnipeg, we had a huge hail storm and buckets of rain for the last couple of days. I thought of you and Mark trying to get in the field to plant. It is nice to see your update. It's good to see you both with less stress on your faces.
I feel a little sad when I see them load up but I eat meat so there's that.....I totally understand it's necessary, there is a food chain and it's your job and you do a good job of raising them and caring for them and I enjoy your videos. You know it's funny, I know people who don't eat meat but they have pets who do LOL
True! I now stick to herbivores -- horses and burros. (Although some Dalmatians dogs do well on vegetarian diets, quite restricted ones. Purportedly, they can lack some enzyme, vet said.)
I first started watching and it hit me. Omg they’re going to be eaten! But as I watched and learned who u were as a farmer and family. I realized the sheep are in such good hands and could have it so much worse . So thanx for caring so much and being such a beautiful human and family. As a society we do eat meat and not a lot of people can do what you do. U do it with love and caring and compassion. ❤

You, Mark, Carissa, Jack and Jess and everyone else that contributes to your farm helps to educate and show what it takes to provide food to the food chain. Like you I appreciate those that choose to either eat or not eat meat. When financially possible I prefer to buy from local producers such as yourself. You show what it takes to grow food and you do show the way you do your job. Thank you for what you do.
I was raised on a farm, so it was apparent to me early in life how the food chain worked and where food came from. We treated every living thing with kindness too. It's hard to believe people eat everyday of their lives and never question where things come from and how they are made.
