Hey everyone! It's been a hot minute since we've ripped a bit of Lamb Of God, so I decided we're gonna be doing another one of their tunes today. This time we've got Beating on Death's Door on the chopping block, and it's kinda funny how this one got picked. I mean, it's a badass song, and one written by Adler instead of Morton so it's got more progressive structure to it. But actually, I've been rather engrossed in a fantastic little game called Death's Door on the PS4, a cool isometric top-down adventure puzzle game that's a neat blend of Zelda aesthetics and Bloodborne/Dark Souls combat style. And as such, my brain went and made some weird connections that led to another Lamb Of God cover.
I've toyed with this tune a few times over the years, but sitting down and learning that main riff made me realize I had no bloody idea what I was doing way back then. It's a weird combination of off-beat pinch harmonics, alternate picking, and oddly placed pull-offs. Definitely a fun riff once you've got it, but god damn does it take a while to nail down. It's also a ridiculously fast song, and getting everything tight took forever.

Also, seriously, if ya dig Zelda style games that offer a bit more challenge, look up Death's Door. So good.
