@@artgenix8052it’s not exactly over shadowed but it’s only appeared in 2 pieces of Star Wars media I can remember. In rebels and that new Star Wars game. I just assumed the sentinel class was what they used in between the delta class and lambda class. Kind of like the V wing.

@@Squiddy-go1du nah the sentinel is totally separate from the lambda, it’s huge and specifically meant as a troop transport as it has a far bigger capacity than the lambda. but i understand where you’re coming from

The Sentinel was the Seinar troop transport variant that lived between the Lambda and the Rogue One cargo shuttle.

To be fair, anyone attacking a Lambda from the front arc would also be exposed to a considerable number of rather big laser cannons from the shuttle itself. "Covering fire" should not be an issue in any actual fight

That’s the case with any military vehicle in real life though. It’s not exactly a bad thing. Realistically the Lambda shuttle pilot would never drop his troops off in an LZ (Landing Zone) that was hot anyway. If he had to drop troops off during battle then he would get at a safe distance away from the gunfire and offload the troops and they would walk the rest of the way into the battle. And if the Lambda ship had to evacuate troops it would land at an LZ and use its blasters or another squad of troopers already on board to suppress the enemy troops with gunfire until all friendly troopers were on board. This is how it’s done in real life.

I'd like the Eta class shuttle from clone wars more , Add a Y wings bomb bay ,Rear turret and Tie interceptors lasers into its available cargo space and add a SLAM boost engine for quick escapes and it already has the Starfighter speed and Maneuverability

You can pick-and-choose anything you want to be your own personal canon, and it makes no difference to your morality as a person whatsoever. Take the novel "The Crystal Star," for example. That's blatantly a rejected "Star Trek" novel with Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, Threepio, and Artoo shoehorned into it. It's bad, it feels nothing like a "Star Wars" story, and I discount it. That doesn't mean I'm about to go on a shoplifting spree or oppress a nation. It just means I ignore a bad novel, except when I have to use it as an example. Besides, if you want to go that route, Disney decanonising The Expanded Universe is evil. But at least I can agree with you on that. @@adamwolf9419 Only a few should have been made for Palps and Anakin making it a military vehicle was extremely stupid.

There was a transport in legends that had variants that could fire volleys of proton torpedoes or reload other ships with more ordinance. I think it was referred to as the stormtrooper transport in some games. Appears mostly in the x wing and tie fighter games.

@@Shadow-Company-Operator Agreed. It did fit well into the Empire’s form over function approach though.

That said, there are very effective variants of the lambda that were very effective. There is the assault shuttle, and then there are two custom jobs I want to make note of, Palpatine had one with a cloaking device and Sith artifacts, and Isard had one that was so heavily shielded that the only fighter carried weapons that could damage it from a single fighter were missiles and torpedoes. Also, the rebels used a miniature version as a fighter (it was basically a slightly downsized shuttle, but was still a shuttle and was considered a lambda variant).
