Another honest review. I agree that when one finds that "perfect" safety razor, stop looking. There are a lot of "favorites" available.

Great honest review! I could totally see the ares not being a 2 pass shaver. I agree while the boxes and presentation are top shelf it’s all about the shave. I also can’t help but wonder if they could offer them much cheaper without the box!

That razor definitely looks like a Greek design. I think it's pretty cool with all of the extra fancy packaging, and I don't think the price is unreasonable for what you get, and I've spent a lot more than that. But like you say the shave is what counts. As for your advice on buying razors, if my first one was my PAA Ascension Twist that is now my razor for life, I still would have bought more due to watching shave channels like yours. So my advice is find one you like and never watch another video on wet shaving, lol.

I know the temptation is real with influencers. I try not to say you have to buy this. Rather to just talk about the items and let the viewer make a decision if it’s right for them. Thanks for watching chris!

Great Matthew! Well, like you said, you're never totally sure on a razor until you try it out yourself. I just look for smoothness and efficiency myself, because for the most part aggression is just something with safety razors. Using shavettes I don't get the aggression that comes with some safety razors, even with a big naked blade on the Weck. Perhaps they'll do like other companies and offer a more aggressive version. It is a beautiful razor and I bet in stainless steel it would be something. Nice review! Take care!

Now I enjoyed the Athena much more than the ares. I think there is a sweet spot angle for that razor by way of angle. It’s not a great razor for most. I’m interested to see your take on the Athena.

Nice Review Matthew. I agree I expected this to be more aggressive than it really was. The blade reveal was very minimal from what I remember and I had a decent two pass shave with some cleanup. But overall I would have wanted it to have a little more bite to it. Thanks for the shot out brother 🙌🏻

I appreciate the honest review. Sounds like this razor didn't give you the best shave. We know it wasn't the fault of the Silver Blue... quality blade. I agree with you Matthew, the important piece is the razor itself. #Cardinal

@@lawrence1md I was on vacation in Florida last week and the lamp post at our cabin made me instantly think of the handle on this razor, just a few days after watching Tobin’s review. I had one of those “you might be a shnerd, if a lamp post reminds you of a razor handle” moments. Anyhow, I appreciate your honest input on this razor. I’m still new to DE shaving, and I don’t have enough experience yet to have found “the one” that works the best for me. I currently have a Henson AL13, which is a great razor for beginners but I feel like it’s a little too mild. My next razor, from Yates has been ordered but still waiting to be produced. I’ve been thinking about trying one of PAA’s razor, but can’t decide if I want the Symmetry or the Prismatic. Anyhow, best of luck to you on your knee recovery.
