Good videos, I only wish I had one...got many others I am a bit of a grease monkey so I would be greasing every moving part, and everything else to protect from corrosion etc

Thanks so much for taking the time to make these videos. I'm in the process of building my first engine and these are proving invaluable. Could I please check something with you if I may as I can't quite see from the video. Am I right in saying there is an 'O'ring on the outside of the case with a washer, and then one washer between the wishbone and the case to take up the slack. I have looked at some exploded diagrams and looked in Sticky's workshop manual and I can't quite see if its 2x 'O' rings and 1 washer or vis-versa. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Gary can you advise on which part of the engine your question refers to? And thanks for your kind words.

@@m1scooterlife259 apologies, I should have been clearer. The part in question is the gear selector arm that goes through the case/wishbone as per the video. Thanks again

OK, like all lambretta parts these can be machined or worn so if gp it has the arm in place on the rod, early ones the arm bolts on and are easier to align, to answer your question the stirrup has one washer above it and on the top is a owing oil seal with a washer on top of that, sometimes you can put another washer to take up excessive play above the stirrup. This can make the gear change harder if it's to tight. Mechanism should move without to much resistance and virtually no up and down movement, all pressure on it being upwards that's why the washer above the stirrup is there as it should wear out and not the casings. I hope that's of use and good luck with your rebuild, remember you have time and that's something a rebuilder doesn't, myself and others will help if you need any help.

Thank you, that's pretty much what I thought. I've built a few aircooled vw engines but lambrettas are completely new to me so it's great to he able to use your videos as a guide. Thanks again, Gary.
