On Blake's Broadcast, Blake reviews the Lamy A5 Hardcover Notebook. The paper is reviewed and tested with 15 pens to see how it holds up to different types of pens. The Lamy Hardcover Notebook comes in two sizes A5 and B5 and in three standard trim colors: dark purble, ocean blue, and black as well as one special edition color called turmaline.
The Lamy Hardcover notebook has the following features:

This channel needs more recognition, really nice review! Although i would like a comparison between Lamy, Leuchtturm1917 and Rhodia, but that is just me comparing the notebooks as i need a new one haha

Thank you for the comment! I appreciate it. Between the three it depends on what you like. All three are good notebooks. The Lamy is the most unique in terms of design, the Leuchtturm1917 has the most features and a very nice thin paper, the Rhodia has the smoothest paper...really depends on what you like.

The silverish textured cover is visually (and maybe also tactilly) similar to the section of Lamy 2000 🤩

My main criteria is if it's fountain pen friendly so I would say this passes. The ruling is interesting and I would give it a try. Great review, thanks !

I too prefer these LAMY notebooks. The page style is unusual but the variety is nice.

Great review! The only thing I don't like is that the hard cover is very delicate and prone to dents on the edges. I hate ruining the immaculate objects. Am I the only one? Or I have some kind of obsessive-compulsive personality…

Thank you! I finished mine and it seemed to hold up nicely for me but I wasn't taking it in and out of a bag all the time. It mostly lived on my desk.

I also would like rounded corners. The softcover ones have them.

Rounded corners are definitely more common on this style of notebook but I appreciate the variety. I will have to try one of the softcovers. I like that they have different colored covers.

Why would any use permanent markers and alcohol marker in a notebook? I realy like these notebook for when I write in bold. - Anything I expect to read several times over, it is awsome. But not for my diary.

I'm a bad boy, what can I say? I enjoy the Lamy notebooks for variety. The ruling is nice when I get sick of lines dots and grids.

That cover is too flashy for me. I prefer a matte finish myself. Perhaps I'll give the softcover a try as it comes in a flat matte black.

Hi Joseph, I agree with you. I am not a fan on the shiny cover. If you get the softcover I would be curious to know what you think of it.

They have in several colours. ... Black, white, blue.... "pink" ... and I think also a more normal read. However, I only have black and white. The shiny-grey I would love for being flashy, but those I have only found with sharp cornes and I 'need' round corners.
