I always felt like the judgement of Lana was too harsh here. Yes, what she did was messed up, but considering the amount of manipulation, trauma and violation that Lex and Lionel put her through, can't blame a girl for being pissed.
@Tahmina Habeeb Considering how many times characters have been possessed/infected/taken over by something with no one truly knowing until it's almost too late, this is less about Lana not truly knowing or loving Clark and more about a little thing called plot convenience. This also has nothing to do with my original comment.
Chloe proofs here that she is not the good friend she think she is. Lana went trough such bad times, she is confused, hurt, depressed and needs help from her friends, not somebody who makes it worse and hit on you. She is already on the floor, and Chloe kicks her. In bad times you see who is a friend and who is not! Lana showed so many times, how she cares about Clark. She even would have thrown her life away being with Lex. Being with that monster ...
Lana: "I would do anything for Clark." Chloe: "Even kill. What a lucky guy." This didn't age well, considering Chloe would actually kill someone for Clark the following season lol
@@michelghorayeb9950 It's the Brainiac effects that *allowed* her to do that. She was in control. Like Oliver was saying when he called her out on it, what motive did Brainiac have to keep Clark's secret? Chloe had the motive.
I absolutely loved this scene! Both of them ( despite being friends) drawing the line when it comes to Clark’s future! And! It has nothing to do with competing for his heart this time around! Great arcs these characters had in this series! Both girls grew to be strong women heroes in their own right!
this was the scene for me in this weeks episode. no matter how close Lana and Chloe become, and no matter how much they love eachother, Chloe has chosen sides. maybe we all should do the same.
And if Chloe AND Clark (yeah, he is also needed) would be there for her, talk and listen to her, she would get over it much sooner. She is again alone - and that with a lover and a friend around! Think about that please! I am so proud of her - Lana is a real great, brave and strong woman.
It's an opinion she used to always put the blame on others? It's an opinion that for all her talk of honesty, she did things behind others' backs and then blamed them again for being dishonest with her? It's an opinion she always played the victim in every situation so she could get away with what she was doing? Those aren't opinions, its facts. "Second choice" means absolutely nothing, Lois and Clark had a mature relationship absent of pathetic angst. Keep blindly defending horrible characters.
OOOOOOOOOOh. BURN! SO TRUE! That's why I LOVE Chloe. I wish things would have worked out with thoes two. Chloe: I want Clark to have that kind of loyalty in his life, but I'm just not sure it's from you... Lana: I would do anything for Clark. Chloe: Even kill. What a lucky guy... Lana: You believe that I would do that to Clark. Chloe: Not intentionally, but I realize now that you're capable of it. You should just know that I'm not gonna let that happen. OH YEAH! GO CHLOE!
Chloe shouldn't judge Lana straight away without wondering what drove her into doing this to lex. Lana's gone through A LOT and Chloe and Clark seem to believe Lex's word over Lana's. I also think Al/Miles screwed Lana's character and that's really a shame.
It was never about that. Chloe understood the reasons and the friend in her most likely felt horrible for what Lana was going through. This scene was about Chloe drawing a line in the sand and telling Lana if she cruisers crosses it, Chloe will be there to stop her from letting Lana's revenge bring down Clark.
She didn’t judge her straight away tho Lana was doing way to much and being obsessed with revenge Chloe going to do what it takes to make sure nobody hurts Clark
So you see how clever Lana is. She put one and one together. Chloe would not know until now, if Alicia wouldn't have shown her. Clark told Lana himself. He WANTED her to know - not so with Chloe. There he cant change it, he has to live with it.
1- First, this scene is beautifully written and acted masterfully by both Chloe & Lana; it shows that those 2 characters have a great potential interacting with each others & still an uncharted territory 4 the writers. But I think that Chloe's Lecture was too hard on Lana (hurt to the bones) who needs more than ever in this particular moment a friend's shoulder to overcome the great confusion she's drown in. Something is missing at the end; an open door 4 dialogue...
Lana needed a wake up call. Chloe appealed to the one thing that will motivated Lana and that's Clark. By letting Lana know that he actions could have severe damage to Clark, Chloe was able to open Lana's eyes. Tough love works
Luckiegurll Chloe never betrayed Clark... out of all clarks friends Chloe has done the most saving, even saving Clark from himself. Chloe allowed doomsday to stay with her because he told her that being with her will stop him from killing Clark that there is something about being around him that seems to calm the beast..so she decided to sacrifice herself even if it meant giving up the love of her life jimmy to be with Davis. That is Sacrifice not betrayal.
Goes back their high school days. Chloe was always in love with Clark. She never stopped loving him. Chloe would do anything for Clark. Clark never returned her affections. Chloe did realize IMO that Lionel and Lex put Lana through torment but Lana chose to go down the path of revenge. Sinking to Lex’s level. Clark’s destiny was to be with someone who would not go down that road. I don’t hate Lana. I feel for her. She loves Clark and will always hold a special place in his heart and vice versa. If you ask me Chloe loved Clark the most. Clark even told her that in 6x12 “Labyrinth,” “I don’t know what I’d do without you Chloe. You mean a lot more to me than you know. You were the one person who believed in me.” Lana sadly was a tortured soul who tried so hard to shove down her darkness but marrying Lex brought it out thanks to Lionel. Always meddling. Clark tried so damn hard to mend her darkness but it never worked. Gough and Milar dragged Lana’s story out far too long. The “star crossed lovers,” thing should have ended with Lana dying in Clark’s arms in season 6 finale or in the 10th episode of season 7 with Bizarro and Brainiac teaming up to destroy Clark, take her as a hostage, and kill her in front of him. Rather than what the writers actually did. Ugh 😩
Give Kristin a consistent role please. Write off Lana and she can find a better role somewhere else. Lana is just a mess that they should have rectified in Season 3. Now its too late, the character has escaped it bounds and must be put down.
If so, then he is an idiot, because how can u stand a relastionship, if you have no trust and ask others to watch the partner. One day it'll come out - and will ruin everything. Lana and Clark have TO TALK, TO LISTEN, and WORK TOGETHER on it. Thats all it matters - and every third person has to put her/his nose out of it. Just make things worse!
@yesyesohyay10 Thats Unfair of you, Chloe "betrayed" Clark because He betrayed her, he clearly showed her that he doesn't care about being honest to her, she was heart broken and when she tried to be a mature person he just blew it in her face, not to mention how Lionel manipulated her. Now, Do you know how many times Chloe saved Clark? She saved him more times than he saved anyone, and defintely more than the times Lana saved him.
@yesyesohyay10 She saved his arse from Green Kryptonite ALOT of times [Even more than Martha Kent] , She killed pages, succesfully protected his secret in the most bizarre events and Helped him in all his darkest hours, She also spent half a season knowing his secret and letting him tell her when he was ready, not to mention how She always brought up the best from him. The Good deeds Lana did simply cannot compete to that on Chloe, every character fades away in comparism to her. No contest.
This is why I hated Lana, after season 3. She became so annoying, unbearable and I couldn't stand her. She prefers bizarro over the real Clark and she also lives a month with bizarro and can't even see that it's not the real Clark. Okay, Chloe may have betrayed Clark once. But she didn't tell Lionel anything, that's why Lionel fired her and blackmailed her. And the only time she kills someone is when she's under Brainiac's control. Lana may be like this because of clark's power but deep down she has wanted to do this for a long time, just like Eric before he got Clark's power. He and his father didn't get along and his father treated him like he was a failed product. When he got Clark's power, it only strengthened his hatred and his intention to take revenge on his father
but like she acts here is not helping. She should be a shoulder to hold on to, and listen and help Lana. Not to hit somebody who is already on the ground.
Amen! For all the people who are hating Chloe for being A FRIEND to Clark...Back off! Chloe relaizes that Clark has a destiny bigger than herself and Lana. So Chloe is there for Clark as a LOYAL friend.
Mad? No. Annoyed? For sure. Psychological projection at its best on your part. There's no second choice, Clark had already started to fall for Lois before Lana returned. Second choice is just a buzz word that you use to make yourself feel better due to your ignorance and refusal to accept that Clark treated Lois like a real human being and not a perfect picture put on a pedestal. The difference between how he handled both 'ships is endless. Keep your delusion, always fun to mock people like you.
Not to mention the fact that she now knows Clark was inadvertently responsible for the death of her parents through the meteor shower. Something to this day he feels guilty about. She doesn't say it out loud but there is that resentment you see.
Lana was also NOT on the way to kill Clark! She would rather die herself. She would give her life for Clark. Also Lana has the "right" to do a mistakes for gods shake. Dont judge one more than the others. Chloe learnt about her mistake, and Lana will also. You just need a reason to dis a character you dont like...
i am calm^^ don't worry - we just discuss different meanings, And I think thats ok. I never said Chloe didn't care about Clark, but also Lana did care about him all the time. All I am trying to say: everbody makes mistakes in their lifes, humans make mistakes to learn and grow. (even aliens do mistakes*gg*). I also don't like what Lana did, and I don't say she did good - BUT I DO understand her. And all I am saying: NOW she needs a friend and an open ear to get out of it
2- Second, the "Chloe-Clark" relationship is an amazing friendship story & should remain that way. By wishing it more intimate, at this juncture of SV events, it's ruining the integrity of Chloe's character who is a loyal friend to Clark & Lana. I'd rather see Chloe & Lana teaming up awesomely like in "Hydro" against Linda Lake, and supporting Clark in his journey towards becoming Superman.
... LANA WILL GET OVER IT. LIKE SHE ALWAYS DOES. With or without Chloe and Clark - but if the would help and listen, they could get a real deep friendship and relationship. And for the metapher on the end. The writers did a big mistake: Isis DID all for her husband. She was not in love with the big god Re. So Isis did nothing to hurt her love and so Lana would never harm Clark.
Why are people making excuses for Lana? Chloe has been through hell herself we don't see Chloe screwing with Lex. Why have Lana not thought about what going after Lex can do to Clark? Chloe while in high school could have gotten Clark's secret and expose him but in the end Chloe didn't. She was smart enough to know not to trust a Luther I've said this for the longest time Lana's love/hate for Lex has become number one then her love for Clark.
Chloe...GIRL BYE!!! And take that sanctimonious attitude with you. You did not go through what Lana has been through. It's called trauma! People deal with trauma in their own way. Stop acting like all of a sudden Lana is this BIG BAD that's going to hurt Clark. She has actually done quite the opposite. This after you and Clark kept a whole lot of things from Lana all the while calling her your friend and significant other, respectively. Lana doesn't walk the straight and narrow for one second and suddenly people are gunning for her. Those that do just love to do so no matter what she does. Meanwhile, everyone else has been zig zagging into dangerous territory throughout all those other seasons. She's human. She's allowed to make mistakes and get the opportunity to correct herself. Should I remind you of season 3 Chloe? So step off!
o0o0 ok, this scene isn't as bad as i thought it was going to be..i thought Chloe was going to be rude and nasty and I wasn't going to like her but she wasn't she was quite calm. LANA you go gurl, got characters actually viewing u as a threat! haha! and CHLOE keeping holding it down for ur Clarkie-Poo!!
Oh, both Clark and Chloe already knew the whole story when they discovered Lana's secret room, spying on Lex and that she's been doing this for months long before she reunited with Clark.
No one fully understood the trauma the Luther’s put Lana through. Fake pregnancy, forced into a marriage she didn’t want, threats, and Lex even assaulted her. I hated Chloe here
..... Nobody is perfect. Even the Justice League got revenge, and nobody is judging them. But of course - one character must hold for it - here its Lana. If you are really fair - you wont say Lana is bad, untrustfull and unloyal. She has proofen, she is more than anybody else in that show, even if she is suffering or giving her life for it, she does it. She knows she went a wrong way - and has a inner fight. She will go through it.
Wow...Really Chloe? O_0 Yeah, it's not like you would hide a murder/monster in your basement and then runaway with him or spy on all your friends without their knowledge just to protect them!! Oh wait.....*headdesk*
i do too^^ well there are much comments which dont show the hole picture - thats why I tried to explain an a lot of them. I also hope Lana and Chloe will still be friends. They need each other.
3- Third, there is a kind of incoherence in the transcript: at the beginning of the ep. Chloe reminds Clark how Eric Summers went psycho when he absorbed his powers & at the end of the ep. she's accusing Lana of killing! Lana was infected with the greenK here! Can we accuse Chloe of willing to kill Lex in "Progeny" because she was under the influence of her mother Moira, or Clark of willing to kill his parents & Lana in "Splinter" because he was infected with the SilverK???
ClarkSuperboy you're forgetting that Lois also had clarks powers once and it didn't drive her crazy..she used it to save people till Toyman used a device to try to get her to kill Clark and immediately he said "I love you" she couldn't do it. Lana was already crazy before she got clarks powers. Just a day of having clarks powers and Lois and Julian ended up in the hospital.
u don't think it adds more depth to the character?! Her being sweet all the time, you gotta admitt gets a little boring...people are going to bash Lana no matter what she does, w/e but I think the mixture between sweet lana (to clark) and psyco lana (to lex) is pretty interesting to watch hehe! but I'll Love Lana no matter what lol
LOL !! Chloe always had her suspicions since day 1. Have you ever watch Smallville or the episodes where Clark & Chloe got into a fight because of that ?!! Plus, Chloe would've never trapped Clark in order to discover his secret :)
..... to save the man she loves. She suffered, and still did it just for him. If thats not the proof - then I don't know. And come on. Is Lana the only one in the show, who is not allowed to make a wrong choice, to do a mistake? Don't forget Chloe was jealous and worked for Lionel, and Clark did forgive her. So! The same right for Lana, in my opinion.
i love chloe here. i dont like what the writers are doing to her character now with jimmys death she just went off the rails i hope she comes right like lana did.x.
Omg *rolls eyes* I love chloe but come on. She is upset cus of the secret lana was holding but Chloe has secrets of her own too. But of course Clark and Chloe dont want to trust Lana . They rather trust lex and lionel. WTG , guys *gives you two thumbs up* Its not like Clark ever had the feeling to kill someone who hurt his family . hehe Anyhoot great episode loved kick ass lana.
4- Fourth & last, Let us not forget that when Clark knew in "Phantom" that Lionel Luthor threatened Lana, he was about to kill him with his bare hands if Manhunter didn't stop him on time. If Lana really wanted to kill Lex she would have done in "Kara", same for Lionel; she kidnapped him to neutralize him. With all the horrible things that Lionel committed in the past, is he really CK's guardian angel??? Please writers, Chloe is Clark's supportive friend not his mom!
ClarkSuperboy you're forgetting that "LIONEL BECAME POSSESSED WITH JOREL KNOWLEDGE TURNING HIM GOOD" and if clarks foolish love for Lana drove him to kill Lionel in phantom he would've lost jorel's vessel
chloe really needs to back off..if she wants to worry about someone not being loyal to clark its not lana..lana loves clark and she has never betryed him..o now since lana is tryna get back at lex..chloe thinks she cant be trusted? wat kind of friend is that? i would want to get back at lex too. i believe lana. and chloe needs to stop tryna get on lana and go get a life...
Difference is she did this only once when she was angry at Clark. Lana said one thing and did something else for seven seasons and on top of it had the nerve to put the blame on others. Pathetic. Chloe and Lois are on entirely different levels than Lana, she was just painful to watch. I completely fail to understand how anyone can possibly defend a character like that. After S3 she became unebearable.
I'm glad Chloe told Lana off!!! Someone needed to do it!!! Lana and her **"I'm the holy goddess of Smallville and I can do whatever the hell I want and don't have to suffer for it"** attitude was really beginning to piss me off and Chloe, being the loyal friend she is to Clark, laid her foot down with Lana's ass and let her know that she's not gonna stand by and let her hurt her best friend albeit intentional or unintentional! DAMN STRAIGHT!!!! GO CHLOE!!!!
i know most people here loves chloe and i do too and they hate clana which i certainly dont but i didnt agree with chloes reaction clark can take care of his own HE HAS TO not even lana should look after him he needs to grow mature and thats necesary for him to be superman and chloe being all im not letting you hurt him was a little too much considering she has always been lanas friend and trust her but i still like her even when i think she should stop acting like clarks mom
lol...Chloe is cool, I just wish she would deal with her OWN problems instead of poking her nose in other people's problems lol...she has stuff SHE needs to deal w and it has nothing to do with Clark and Lana, ::cough:: her powers and Jimmy ::cough:: hehe
Lana couldn’t handle the truth about Clark. Let’s take a step back to S5E12, when Clark told her the truth she kept acting all nervous which caused Lex to be suspicious she knew something.
yes u'r right ......lana need some ass kicking...she is going too far.....how do we know if she won't betray clark or not....her behaviour is saying she might....revenge is turning her evil.....in the director's cut...she say she will get over clark when lex tried to use clark as a bargaining chip....
Slow down there !! I never said that I hated Lana, it's just that I prefer Chloe, that's all !! And in this scene, Chloe shows her loyalty to Clark and how much she cares about him ;D
Yeah but she was young and didn't know about his powers at that time ! Also she wouldn't hurt or kill anyone, especially Clark :) And she didn't reveal anything to Lionel, that's why he threatened her after that. Chloe's the BEST !!
Ok then, it's just that you seem like you need to reply to every Chloe supporters :) But I agree and I hope in the next episodes (for instance the 14th) we'll get some good Chloe & Lana friendship like before ;D
I would love for this to be the turning point for Lana. Chloe and Lana's friendship is one of my favorite relationships in the show, and I would hate for it to end but Lana does need to change her ways. I know that she has done some pretty horrible things, but I don't think it is too late to redeem her character.
Uhh, I don't even know why people hate Lana for this in the first place. Let's take a look at what she did: 1. Spy on Lex: Ok, I can tell you that I'd be pretty pissed off if I was forced to marry anyone, and I'd be even more pissed off if I found out that the guy I was forced to marry secretly injected me with hormones to fake a pregnancy. Any rational person here would want revenge. If someone says they wouldn't want revenge were they to be put in the same situation, they're lying. 2. Keeping this a secret from Clark: Well, fact is if she wanted to do any of this she'd have to keep it a secret otherwise Clark would never allow her. So what did she do wrong again? In any case, I like that she did this it made the season worth watching. Honestly, Lana is a more interesting character than Chloe (and certainly more interesting than Lois).
First off, Lana spied on Lex for her own benefit not Clark's otherwise she would have used this organization to help Clark should Lex do anything remotely suspicious. The only reason she didn't tell him, was because he would have been the only one to stop her from going too far and killing someone. This is Superman for god sake, if he struggles not to kill anyone he'd expect his friends and allies to do the same if they could. If she killed Lex, she'd be no different than Lex. Second off, she was willing to kill her own boyfriend, simply because he stood in the way of her killing Lex. And brushed that off as just the powers except I don't know her 6 year resentment of Clark not telling his secret before hand? People seem to fail to realize that the powers don't just make you stronger. They enhance the traits you already have. And Lana has had more than enough Skeletons in her closet to vent out with the use of the powers. Meaning Powers or no Powers what she did was what she wanted to do. And even before that, she has very skewed standards. She expects people to be honest with her, yet she keeps her own secrets, while at the same time guilt tripping others for keeping their own personal secrets as well. Fuck that.
Anonymous Unknown you’re absolutely right and you know it is both lex and Lionels fault Lex commuted 5 crimes on the wedding day 1 forging legal documents 2 orchestrating a fake pregnancy 3 physical and mental abuse on one Lana Lang 4 murder of a Doctor who wish to redeem himself by telling Lana the truth 5 pretending to become a husband which counts as fraud. And Lionel Luthor 7 crimes 1threatening to kill a town hero 2 forcing a young women into a marriage 3 judging from the way he threatened Lana also counts as kidnapping which means that everything Lana was doing on the wedding day and staying with lex was never of her own free will even if seems like it 4 taking evidence from a crime scene namely the note that says she was not gonna go through with the wedding the Luthor mansion is the crime scene and the note is evidence 5 pretending to become a father in law which counts as fraud 6 obstructing justice by defending a killer namely his son for killing the Doctor 7 because of Lana getting hurt by the meateor freak and getting shot by whoever maybe one of lex henchmen he is also responsible for putting in harms way him forcing Lana to do something without telling her his true reasons for what’s going on to get what he wants is clear evidence that he is sending her in on something that can only be classified as a suicide mission I hope you understand tell me have you ever seen the dukes of hazzard
And besides she just wanted to prove herself and learn how to take care herself she may have kept a secret but that doesn’t mean it was gonna be forever
but she was brought into it by both Clark and Lana. She is a good friend to both, and yes she has made some major mistakes in the past but she has learned from them. I really think that Chloe does not want to see Lana become worse than she already is. Budding in means that you care, doing nothing means that you don't.
I don’t care how many times Lana does whatever she wants to do but at the end of the day she wouldn’t have been this way if Clark and Chloe was not hiding stuff from her and no matter what her getting hurt Clark hurting her more than she has heard of him having to think he has not done anything wrong there were so many times he pushed her away so many times he didn’t even think and when she does stuff on her own she gets judged
BAM Chloe is was on fire during that scene. I keep saying it thank god now Chloe sees it too. As much as Lana loves Clark. She hates Lex a whole lot more then loving Clark. Allison and Kristen though OMG how great are these 2 even when their characters are against each other :( But still someone needed to tell Lana that. Because lord knows farmboy and playboy wont see that in her  There too into Lana loves me more then you To even see it
who the hell is chloe to doubt lana's loyalty to clark?..lana has never betrayed clark.chloe has betrayed clark before..spying on lex doesnt hurt clark..lana loves him and chloe needs to stop being cop to lana...i think lana just needs to get over her hate for lex but i still got faith in CLANA!
First of all Chloe always had her reasons she has always looked out for Clark and if Lana is what’s going to ruin Clark she’s gonna make sure that doesn’t happen
OMG i love this scene... GO CHLOE! U R THE BEST! ..i am shocking with that conversation.!..I miss u so much the "old lana" she was so innocent and cute.. and now she is a mean girl i really dont like her now
when did chloe kill someone in cold blood? the only scene i can think of is when she was messed up by brainiac. meanwhile lana would have no problem letting someone take the fall for her "death". Yes, she's a saint. let's not mention her murderous freak out when she got clark's powers.
funny how in Season 8 its Lana who is stopping Oliver from killing people and is the voice of reason, and Chloe is the one who wants to kill Lex and is playing games with everyone. Guess she looks like a hypocrite now. Lana was always the best for Clark, season 8 proved that. Damn kryptonite
andreskizzo season 8? Chloe was mad at Oliver for killing lex and blaming the toy man for the murder. Chloe never helped Oliver to kill lex. How did you watch it. All Lana wanted to do was to be like Clark in power in everything..Clark needed someone that would be everything that his not..not a photo copy of himself
Lana was heading down the dark path. Chloe was right to check her. Chloe made no specific threat, only she won’t let Lana harm Clark. Lana always had a darker side to her. Lex new it and used it against her. Every main character made mistakes. This is how stories are written. I think Lana and Clark would have survived and lived happily ever after had Lex not poison her with kryptonite. At that point much was worked out. Lana was right, lies destroy relationships, but so does impatience. If Lana was more patient and understanding things would have worked out faster. Clark while no angel was constantly stuck between a rock and a hard place. Many times Lana said things that triggered Clark s worries, though she did not know. Then, I think the writers were butt heads.
I think even if lex didn’t poison her with kryptonite they would have still broken up later down the line because clark was still really confused about his feelings for Lois and it was easy to pick Lana because Lois wasn’t there at the time to make him confused
best scene in Wrath! GO CHLOE GO! Finally sometime telling Lana the truth! And Chloe cares for both Lana and Clark. Nothing to do with Chloe being jealous. Why would she be jealous when Clark trusts Chloe more than he even trusts Lana? Clark goes to Chloe for help in almost everything...so Chloe infact has the better part of Clark. Lana is the one that needs to get a life-- seeking revenge, stalking on Lex, spying on Lex shows that she has no life of her own! Chlark forever!! Chloe rocks!!
