Idk why i feel that in this song she shows that there is no point bullying her for putting up weight, shifting from the vibes first albums had, not looking as iconic as she used to when first albums were out. It's like she understands the attitude haters have towards her, but proves she will continue to do what she does, write new songs in a new music style and, finally, live in a body she feels comfortable in

🌴 MY TAKE ON ARCADIA MEANING 🌴 “arcadia” is a term synonymous with “utopia” and she's drawing imagery with the city of LA bc that's what she's accustomed to and bc she considers it her home, her "utopia" if you will. But is it reciprocated and does this "utopia" take her in with unconditional love like she has (literally projecting it onto her body and fully overtaking her)? Likely not she is essentially expressing her wish for belonging and lack thereof. Lana feels like she doesn’t belong anywhere after all and has felt that way ever since she can remember. Her home, her "utopia" is up in the air again And it's not necessarily about the actual city of Arcadia which lies far east of LA, but the imagery of Arcadia at the end (as opposed to the previous imagery projected of solely LA) along with the mariachi music reminiscent of Mexican heavy East LA makes it seem as she's pulling away from the upper class West LA lifestyle (that is portrayed so rampantly in the mass media as 'The LA') and into yet another search for another "utopia" far away from the one she thought she already found 🙌🏼

Her 8th Studio Album "Blue Banisters" is out on 22nd October. Mark your calendar Steve!

This song came out the day my mom and I were catching a flight to California for vacation. We were in the San Francisco area but still, listening to her out there is a whole new experience that you have to have if you can and you're a Lana fan. It was my first time in California and I loved it more than I could ever properly express here. Now I'm back in my home state of Michigan and lowkey unhappy to be here and just wanting to go back to Cali and this song has a special place in my heart now (all Lana's music does cuz she's my fav artist and one of my fav people period and some of her music has very personal meaning to me) since it has a connection to my first time in Cali, which was so important to me. It's also just one of the most gorgeous songs she's ever made and one of the most gorgeous songs I've ever heard, and her vocals are astonishing! It's one of those songs that makes me wanna cry, and it's because it elicits like a weird mix of happiness and sadness in me. It's everything to me rn. The album is going to come for everyone!

The sophistication of Lan's vocals in this album is just mesmerizing. To me, she's been giving the finger to her haters for ten years, and I haven't waited ten years to LOVE her fucking voice, but this time, oh boy. :D

with so many channels i get very frustrated when they completely misinterpret her lyrics or just don’t understand at all, but you ALWAYS get what she’s saying and i love you for it

The trumpets at the end are the interlude of the album called “the trio” and rumor has it that black bathing suit (the song immediately after) will transition from the interlude and pick up that beat

Yes, do it your way. I, too, prefer going into her albums blind. Lead single MVs like this are the exception. Delaying gratification is so much more satisfying than living like the “Buy Now” generation. And yes, she is addressing the hate & accusations of racism in this song. As a non-American person of colour, my perspective of her is that she’s as woke a liberal as you can get. So it’s shocking to see her being dragged through these purity tests and vilified. I don’t think she said anything problematic. I happen to agree with her 100%. It’s this rotting cultural mindset that is sick and construing her words as being problematic. America is a sick man with its identity politics & culture wars. There’s no other developed nation that so deeply divided by race & politics. Both ends of your political divide are deranged and responsible for this. From an outsider perspective, it’s open season on white people, and that stinks of racism to me.
