Abel is her boyfriend who is already dead. He is "back" from the death. She is kind of dreaming about him and she jumped from the D to get reunited with him. It's her happy ending. It may sound weird, but this theory fits the lyrics in my opinion.
My theory is that The Weeknd in this music video represents death due to his attire being all back. Perhaps death is luring her to jump off the Hollywood sign due to the stress of maintaining a successful career within Hollywood? I'm not sure. It's a fascinating visual for sure
Beyoncé Del Rey That’s was exactly my thought, that Abel is dead in the music video and then when she jumps from the Hollywood sign she is a ghost now too and truly back with her boyfriend.
Exactly my thought as well! Another idea I got is that when she says "take off all your clothes" it's kind of symbolic to getting closer to death (naked without material possesions reunited with the earth) and Abel being the Grim Reaper type of figure is taking her towards her death (the captain of the death ship) and she's singing about how the only reason she's alive is her lust for life
I guess so, that's a really good insight. Also because Lana's character here (and in the LFL trailer) is referred to actress Peg Entwistle who committed suicide in 1930s jumping off from the H sign. So your theory is a perfect match!
I think this is once again about love (that’s why her dress is red - resembles passion and love). Abel is just a ghost (and he’s back and cooler than ever) and that’s why in the end we see (only) her sliding off the “D”. She suicides in order to finally be eternally reunited with Abel, her lover. She really is an amazing artist 💛
Honestly Stargirl Interlude is probably one of the best songs I've heard from her and the weeknd as a feature. Just wish it wasn't a Interlude, would of been a good ass song if it was full.
That’s not true. Stop spreading false information! I’ve had to tell countless people to stop spreading false information since the START of this deep dive. It’s truly frustrating. Stop giving him false information. Do your research.
[@Emanuel Del Sun] It IS necessary to be aggressive at this point. I have no idea why Lana fans just love to pick up false ideas they’ve heard over time and go around spreading them without even QUESTIONING whether or not they are true. Stop spreading false information. It’s literally not that hard. Also: I never said I knew what the Lust For Life video is about, because no one knows! That’s the case with MANY of Lana’s songs and videos. No one knows 100% what they mean, you can only INTERPRET. So here’s where you went wrong: you didn’t INTERPRET. You STATED. The jump is NOT a reference to Peg Entwistle (most likely); Lana has NEVER confirmed that. So stop STATING things as facts, stop spreading false information when you don’t know the truth. This is a lesson you need to learn now, because it’s important in many contexts of life.
Before this album, Lana published a "Lust For Life Album Trailer". It's a two and a half minute long video with a spoken word and it has all of this: the universe, the Hollywood sign... It puts everything together and you will probably make lot of sense out of it, as usual 🙂
For me Abel is alredy dead and she sangs "my boyfriend is back", like hauting her. Cos she jumps from the H, but he doesn't. But at final, he is with her on the "paradise"
There’s a theory about the video that says that The Weeknd is a ghost and Lana is in love with him so that’s why she slides at the end, to kill herself and be with him forever. I don’t know how real it is, but it totally makes sense.
Maybe you don't have to do a "Mariners Apartment Complex" and "Venice Bitch" video because the footage of that video is from "Norman Fucking Rockwell" video...
You should definitely do the neighborhood next I think you would really like them!!! And Jesse Rutherford(the singer) and Lana are close friends and are rumored to have a song coming out with both of them. Also if you do or don’t you deffffinitely should watch the video of Lana’s concert where she invited Jesse onstage and they sang Daddy Issues together
Thanks for uploading. If you have a minute, I recorded a cover of Ed Sheeran. As a fellow music fan, I'd love if you would take a listen. It's on my channel. Hope you like it!
