What's crazy about this album is that when she played it to her label they hated it, and sent her to work with Adele's producer whom he told her the album was perfect and the label executives swicthed right after and let her release it 😵
i laughed so hard when y’all said “is this song directed at someone???” then proceeded to explain it with the lorde album literally right behind you when that’s who it’s about 😭😭😭
@@zvckvry oh yeah!!! it’s because Lorde said she wrote her song royals loosely based on Lana and criticized her for her “romanticism” of rich/wealthy culture
You ATE at 30:20 omg the way I screamed YES right alongside you. Ultraviolence is a beautiful study in toxic / abusive relationship behavior. It fully humanizes the narrator even as she tries so hard to explain why she shouldn’t have your sympathies (hiding behind “my eyes were wide open” “did you hear me say I was the other woman” “how about that I use everyone around me” “I slept my way here” “don’t respect me, I don’t respect myself”). You can’t help but walk away with empathy for the narrator and a deeper understanding of how abuse and exploitation shaped every decision. You see how so many women arrive at the idea that “you can’t exploit me if I’m leaning into it and exploiting myself”… the idea of taking control of your life by minimally having a vote in how it is derailed (because that’s the only path). Ultraviolence was so misunderstood to be Lana glorifying damaging behavior, but to me it has always shown how acceptance of this fate (“if you call for me, I’ll come”) is the tragedy of the story.
FAVORITE REACTION!! I’m glad y’all liked it ✨ hope this album gets y’all excited for whats to come!! TOP 5: (no order) - Shades of Cool - The Other Woman - Brooklyn Baby - Sad Girl - West Coast
Chicos necesitamos que reaccionen a las canciones deluxes. Black beauty y florida kilos son joyas, emocionado por Honeymoon es mi album favorito de Lana❤️
i need you to react to the deluxe tracks most of us have in their top 5 at least one song from the deluxe version, such as black beauty or florida kilos so THIS IS A PETITION FOR U TWO TO REACT TO THE DELUXE VERSION
I’m not finished with this reaction yet (about half way through) and this is really good. Ultraviolence is my favorite Lana album. I’ve been listening to it since it’s release and I’ve never picked up on a few things you guys pointed out from your first listen lol makes me like this album even more now, 9 years later.
On my first listen, my top 5 was "Money, Power, & Glory", "The Other Woman", "West Coast", "Ultraviolence", & "Brooklyn Baby" in that order. I really appreciate but is unfortunately unable to put this is my daily rotation, this is one of those "certain mood" album. Also, I really love how you guys pay attention to the lyrical content.
Aaah, each time i listen to UV, i get chills because of its rockish dark music and lyrics. I remember i felt sad next Lana's works were written in other music styles, only later i realised how exceptionally beautiful this album is. UV, NFR and Ocean Blvd are my favourite works of her❤
Damn Lana is a master lyricist no wonder she says she a poet first and a singer second. The stories word play and continuing lines and themes in the songs of each albums are always so yummy to get into. But it's her musical sense, vocal abilities, her honesty in her songs that makes her a Goat, you don't get to have so many timeless songs n devoted fans just being a good writer. Hard to beattt! Her songs, she always gives u so much tea vocal good ness intruments beats and she does different sounds and genres ❤
The next album line up is honeymoon lust for life Norman Fucking Rockwell chemtrails over the country club then blue banisters then finally her new album did u know that there’s a tunnel under ocean Blvd : )
We need the born to die and ultraviolence deluxe songs - especially the exclusive songs from ultraviolence: "Is This Happines" and "Flipside" (Apart the deluxe)
Old Money is my all time fav song. The beginning is the melody of the Romeo and Juliette theme song (you can Search it up, Andre Rieu played it if I remember correctly). The beginning lyrics are soooo nostalgic bcz she is talking about her life before fame indeed. There is a Lana interview from 2007 for Vogue if I remember correctly where they visit her trailerpark with her blue hydrangeas :")
The funny part about f***ed my way up to the top is you guys speculating about it being directed to someone when that someone’s vinyl is right behind you lmao
Ok yes, NFR is her best album, but don't skip to it!! Keep going in order! It's a must to witness her artistic journey chronologically. I think Born To Die, Ultraviolence, and Honeymoon are the perfect trilogy, and Lust for Life basically bridges the gap between that trilogy and the rest of her discography. You'll see!
i havent acc heard a full lana album before, i really need to lol. BUT THIS ONE SO FAR OH MY GAWD! Update: i listened to the full album, will def be one of my favs of all time, only track i didnt really care for was guns and roses
My most fav breakdown of a Lana album.. tysm for this!!! Y’all appreciate the art not judge it! ♥️♥️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 post edit: ps. It’s always ALWAYS intentional. You’ll find this later through your journey. It cokes full circle in a healed way.
Guys noooo It is only best if you follow the next album HONEYMOON. it’s the best way to experience Lana’s music. So of you haven’t recorded the next Lana album reaction. Please re consider Honeymoon. Then lust for life then NFR
That's a good video, I enjoyed it!!! But I have a question. There are three more songs in this album: "Florida Kilos"; "Guns And Roses" and "Black Beauty". Where is the reaction, to these songs?
You guys are awesome! You analyse these songs so amazingly well it’s insane. Can’t wait for more! I almost died at the Snow White clip for The Other Woman because that’s who I picture every time I listen to this song! Her voice is SO beautiful like Snow White!
