Money and cost control. If an item becomes too costly or difficult to source they look for replacements. Another (affordable and popular) Lancome fragrance that has been reformulated although the company denies it is the Tresor Midnight Rose. That was more of a daily fragrance for me as its less.than half the cost of the Ouds. Many of us noticed that it's not the same anymore. I used to get tons of compliments on that one. It stinks for us when they change formulas.

You always have to be careful when purchasing unsealed items. If you don't smell a very jammy rose right when you spray, it might not be 100% authentic. It could also be an authentic item with something else mixed into it. You can never be 100% sure. Yes, it is a boozy fragrance, but it's more prominently a jammy rose. If I can get my nose on your bottle, I would be able to tell you right away, if it's authentic. My advise to you is to get your nose on a sample of the authentic product and compare it to what you have. It's hard to get your hands on an authentic sample of the old version. So, I might even get a sample of the new version and compare. At least, it would give you an idea of what it's supposed to smell like. The new version is slightly more woody than the old one. The old one is super jammy 🙂 I hope this helps! Good luck!

@@Mz.M.2757 Because it’s an older bottle, there’s a chance it’s started turning. Some people that own perfumes and don’t know how to store their perfume can potentially mess up their bottles by storing it in direct light/sunlight/heat/on their bathroom counter/etc for example especially an item that’s been preowned and sprayed. Because spraying it has invited oxygen into the bottle, that can affect the fragrance. I collect perfumes (purses, sneakers and makeup too) and have way too many niche and expensive bottles so I’m really careful with how and where I store my items (in a dark, temperature regulated walk in closet). That definitely helps keep the life of the fragrance 🙂

@@MissAZ123 thanks for responding i did not think abou that. And I appreciate the tip on storage I have a ton of Niche fragrances that are definitely in jeopardy of losing their top note over time.

Hi darling! 🤗🥰❤️I know love. It would have been nice if Lancome didn't change the formula, but the new one is almost identical to the old formula. It's hard to notice the difference. Those added woody notes didn't ruin it. It still smells delicious! 😋

They are not being very honest. You are not the first one to ask them :) I actually heard it from a few others :) It's funny because it clearly states in the fragrance notes that the new one has two more woody notes. You can actually smell the difference. It's very subtle, but you can smell it. The new one is very slightly more woody. I guess they don't want the fans of the old formula to be disappointed :)

@@CeylonCleo I suspect you're right and I do believe you that they've changed the formulation making way for some seriously marked up offerings online of the coveted old version that's no longer in circulation. I REALLY dislike when perfumers change the formulation and say nothing or fail to phase out the old

I spent too much money to buy a bottle of the old formulation, which smells sweeter than the new version due to having only one woody note as opposed to three. I don't even want to tell you how much I paid for both of my bottle of the old formulation. I know I shouldn't have done it, but I wanted to compare and see it for myself. When I bought my first bottle, I realized that it was sweeter and jammier than the new version, so I paid another arm and a leg for a second bottle. But at least it allowed me to review them both 🙂 I really dislike it when fragrance houses change the formulas of really good perfumes too! Don't fix something that's not broken. All it does is give some opportunists the opportunity to rob people blind and make money selling the old formula for exorbitant prices!

I had both versions just sold the old formulation my date code was 2012. It was a lucky find at a perfume shop near Orlando ,may have paid 100 bucks for it. My nose couldn’t tell the difference between the two. I prefer the new bottle, couldn’t justify having both.

I noticed they say that often, I have 2 other favourites of mine where they said it’s the same but it smells a little different
