Remove just three major components
Air Filter case, Mass Air Flow Tube, Upper Intake Manifold
Removing starter motor was a bit difficult but if you remove cable harness behind starter motor then it make enough room to remove screw on the back side of starter motor.
Don't for get to detach battery before removing starter motor!

Good job! Damn you Toyota for putting the starter in such a tight spot. My Chevy's have all taken like 10 minutes to replace starter motors. When I get this done it better last a million miles.

@KINGDOM MT It went ok. I am not a mechanic by any stretch of the definition and with a sandwich for lunch it took me 6 hours and was pretty strait forward. I used a 2x12 plank to run fender to fender it is a must have item for this job.

always remove negative terminal first to avoid accidents

This is what keeps me from returning to Japanese cars. On my inline 6 Jeep Cherokee I can replace the starter blind folded in 15 min.

It has less to do with the make and more to do with the specific vehicle and motor. Most of my Toyotas have had been right on the side of all the motors. This 100 Series LC (V8) is the first I've owned that need to have multiple pieces removed first.

That was prestone power steering fluid. Nothing special.

highly entertaining however not a clue what he did or how he did it, besides the mass air flow components. I am unable to fit in the engine compartment even if there were no engine! Junior using plyers to unbolt the battery leads is telling plus the inside guy's foot on the various components I doubt is in the manual.

Almost good work but your camera is very far from the work. I don't even know where starter is located. Or maybe in one of the manifolds hole or where?
