I don't know which of these cars are more capable offroaders and I don't even care because I rarely go off-road but the road presence of Landover Defender especially in black is simply outstanding and is a head turner Landover Defender for me.

I just picked up my LC300 GR sport a week ago , love it ! If new defender come with the BMW V8 engine , I would definitely get one. Both of them are great vehicles! But still a little bit different.

Спасибо за видео. Как всегда на вашем канале лучшая демонстрация автомобилей. И самое оперативное представление новинок в деле. Соглашусь со многими комментами в смысле мук выбора между головой и сердцем. Я выбрал Дефендер и за полтора года и 28 000 км пробега ни разу не пожалел. Не представляю себе сейчас альтернативу, даже LC 300. Если уместно, то интересно узнать мнение автора канала или того, кто был за рулём в этих тестах. Спасибо.

Если честно, Def у нас любимый автомобиль!!! Идеален во всем - реально танк едет по направлению 😉😎 по сравнению с Крузаком - он комфортнее, имеет пневму, углы заезда, съезда лучше, легче по весу - все это даёт значительное преймущество на оффроаде! Только в одном нам Крузак показался лучше - это на трассе, на высоких скоростях, за 160 он реально ощущается устойчивее! Но дрифтить на Крузака как на Дефе не выходило, как в этом нашем видео: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7bhvMyvrKTo.html

It’s so hard to choose one. Still with a heavy heart I’d pick LC, coz it can fit in every terrain- city, jungle, while def is more suited for off-road. Will put a LED light bar inside lower bumper grill, and change the tyres to BFGs KO2.

The LC is handling it better than I expected but there were a few moments where it's a bit unsettled. The hard and fast slide to the left, it looks like the front outer is really tucking under for a roll but then bounces out. The side by side at the end shows the defender is far more composed, especially on the biggest holes. It looks as if the LC is either softer sprung, under dampened, much heavier or a combo of all? Not surprising at all when you consider the amount of tech and engineering in the defender. Would be interesting to see a price comparison (keeping the above in mind). In Australia we call it Toyota tax because the local culture seems to believe the LC is the greatest thing since sliced bread and will pay crazy money for them despite essentially being a tarted up farm truck with little refinement or innovation IMO, at least the 200 series.

Air suspension is NOT reliable and will break down it’s a question of time … in the remote areas you are screwed for spares in Australia

@@miltonhusky It's easy to mistake breaking down with wearing out as being the same thing. Suspension components in every car experience wear and require maintenance. Air suspension has more components than a coil sprung car which means it will require more maintenance. But this doesn't make air suspension inherently unreliable. Your point about remote Australia, it's probably fair to say there are more Toyota dealerships in those areas but this is subject to your location. Again, this has no correlation with reliability. Following on from my above point, maintenance should be done proactively so dealership location for the most part is a mere convenience. To summarise, there are more McDonald's than any other restaurants making it very accessible, this doesn't make it the best food...

My choice is Defender! Several reasons: lighter weight, air suspension, better approach and departure angles - all that are advantages for off roading! Also, for me, it looks cooler 🤙 Just an opinion!

@@DriveYourWay I live in Angola, we have a lot of Landrover cemeteries here, because there's no assistance. Meanwhile you can buy very cheap aftermarket parts for toyota. Mine is a 2001 LC with the 4500EFI engine. Drives smooth to this day

I'm biased because I own a land cruiser. I understand people who choose the defender due to its really good on road manners and the air suspension. Not to mention it has the off road chops. But the Land Cruiser possesses the.legendary reliability, not to mention it is not much less capable than the defender anyway, but I will pick durability and reliability over luxury

Unfortunately Land Rover has not the best reliability reputation - it is hard to urge with you!! But considering off-road capabilities it has lower weight and better approach and departure angles, and also, as you mentioned, it has air suspension - that all gives to Defender reasonable advantages 😉

toyota has terrible reliability issues. the first few years of the 200 series were full of engine issues, and there have already been issues with the lc300 engine over heating in australia.

I bought the Defender,,,,very powerful engine in the P400,,,,the LC is bigger than the Defender and I think the LC comes with a V8….so with GAS these days,,,you can get 21 miles to the gallon out of the Defender,,, I have,,,in ECO mode

@@DriveYourWay я ездил на 300 в комплектации с 3 блокировками, не помню как она называется ( не gr ). У меня товарищ такой приобрёл! На новом дефе я не ездил сам, но думаю он гораздо комфортнее чем старый. Для города и очень нечастого съезда с асфальта он конечно подойдёт хорошо, но для постоянного использования в сложных условиях, крузак вне конкуренции! Имхо! Вам, спасибо за труд и успехов!

Lc is desgined for road and deserts. Its suspension is soft compaired to defender. Defender is a tough vehichle and is not much cmfrtble as lc.

Not sure about the suspension, because Defender is equipped with air suspension which is better for off-roading and more comfortable on any terrain! 🤔 LC 300 has no air suspension! What is your thoughts about this fact?

I dont think looks are important on this type of vehicle. They both perform in a similar fashion, but if I had to choose one it would be the Toyota, purely on reliability record. Toyota famous for their reliability, Land Rover famous for their lack of it.....

the only thing the Toyota is better in is reliability. the defender should be more refined to drive, more responsive, quiter, luxurious and better off roader. landcruiser is good offroader and all about reliability (give turbo engine sometime for this conclusionbut toyotas are always great)
