Thank you to Cheryl and Chris for permission to show us this piece of land. Well filmed and very well explained with maps and giving the viewer a really good understanding of the layout and nearby village Ken! Beautiful location, love the river beach, but it would be a no from me too!
Thanks Bimse, it's a no from me too, but I'm really glad to get a chance to film it and share it with others dreaming of moving here, and show them what's available here😊
Nice tour of some interesting land. For the price It's a good value and nice view from it's highest. Thank you for taking us along. Harriet and Jim Richmond, Va.
Hi Ken,have to laugh..the way landowners ensure they harvest the cork before they sell. I would buy a house in that Village...no more gardening for me,been there, now I pay a man who does 🤣🤣👍 Great tour Ken.
please, do bear in mind that most of Central Portugal is a highly sensitive fire hazard zone - that particular village/area looks like a catastrophe in the making (hills covered in pine trees; deep little narrow valleys + a lot of accumulated kindling)...fire safety should be first and foremost to anyone advertising, or otherwise promoting, this type of property
And with global climate change, it's more and more likely to experience bad fire seasons....... Make sure to build out of stone, concrete and steel....otherwise you home is kindling.
A steeply sloped and odd-shaped property, with shale/schist ground.....and no planning permission......not really ideal..... The neighbour farmer should buy the land.
very strange plot of land with the neighbour right in the middle, very odd, the village has a nice feel though with stunning scenery and good value for some land, l like your tour videos :)
I always wonder how these plots of land are divided up into such strange shapes. I suppose it could be due to the topography or maybe people over the years keeping the best pieces of the land and selling off the rest off.
Ken I love watching your property videos, they are so detailed in explanations, but I can not fathom anyone wanting this crazy perimeter property that is not permitted to build on. Seems like a grasp at taking advantage of people who truly want to move to Portugal, and the increased property values, it's a no. But thank you dearly for following the available properties.
Hi Michele, yes I agree. It seems like it might be useful if someone had a small house in the close by village and just wanted this in order to grow olives and vegetables. When we are able we like to share these virtual tours that we do for people (good or bad) as we feel that it gives a realistic idea for what's out there on the market.
I agree its all pretty odd. Is the seller the surrounding neighbour who wants cash for some of their unusabke land. I've said to Ken before that i wouldn't even consider land unless it had a logical layout to it.
So you have a plot of urban land with a public track in the middle. Half of the land is very sloped ánd the river is public. I think 12.5 K is a lot in this case.
Yes it's a pity that it's this weird shape. I guess it's a nice bit of land for someone who wants to camp out in the summer and have river access. Have a bunch of olives to harvest at the end of the year and perhaps grow veggies
Potential depends on buildings rules. Very open breezee areas with loads of fruit. Nice little area to go swim as well. Seems like maybe a farmer wants to rid of some land? weird shape.
Hi.lovly video,we bought just a bit further down,we lived there for a year in 2019,but as iv just read it most definitely is a worry with fires and be aware that river drys up and so does the river beach,we had no water for months,we couldn't grow anything but sesmo and pomar are lovely and so are the people
@@OKportugal If only my wife would agree to relocating to Portugal! I lived in Germany for about 8 years and visited Portugal once. Such a beautiful country and such warm-hearted people!
FROM BRITISH VIEWPOINT, This hillside barren waterless plot, without any planning concent !, and no doubt with multiple other restrictions by local government, would be if in GB Worthless !! The only reason to consider this plot would be to consolidate a purchase of a adjoining property with buildings or planning consent.
Hey Ken what's the reason to buy a land that we can not build a house?? In the next future this area will be a ghost town ! Old people ,lack of good construction hand work , laws that dificult new developments so on. Good to put a tent and become a gypsi king .. we love your channel and you have the last best land in the area.
I don't know Claus, I get asked to film properties for people and give my views. I don't choose these properties myself. I guess some people might have a house in the village with no garden and would buy this for growing vegetables and making olive oil
Hello, I think the neighbor has been there for a short time because of the satellite images I have, and I visited this place 1 year ago and there was no one to live
Pure Portugal is my favourite. To be honest I haven't looked for about a year as we already have our farm here but I'm sure you'll find some great ones on pure Portugal 😊👍
THE ONE PROBLEM WITH THESE TYPE OF PROPERTIES IS YOU PAY THOUSANDS TO HAVE THE LAND, BUT, IT NEVER IS REALLY YOURS TO DO WITH AS YOU WANT, B/C YOU HAVE TO HAVE A MOVABLE STRUCTURE, WHICH MEANS IT WILL NEVER FEEL LIKE ITS REALLY YOUR LAND...I WOULD NEVER BUY ONE OF THESE...I HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING WHERE I CAN PUT DOWN ROOTS FOR MY MONEY...EITHER A RESTORATION OF A QUINTA OR A BUILD...;)
Hi. I'd like to apply for residency in Portugal and use just a piece of land like this as my registered address. Do you know if it is possible? I'm a computer programmer / early retiree with a campervan in Europe. I'd like to get residency in Portugal, register the motorhome in Portugal, and then park the motorhome on my land and then build a tiny house over the span of a few years. Thank you!
Hi Kathy, I really don't know to be honest. All of the properties we look at have unique characteristics that influence their asking prices. Your best bet would be to speak with a local agent who knows the area you are interested in buying in.
Hi Vashtie, we only make video tours. You will need to contact the sellers for more information. We put their contact details, in the video description, below the video on RU-vid.
You find the most interesting and weirdest properties ever lol... remember that cheap is not always the best option. I would never, ever purchase a property where others would need to drive through period. You want tranquility not issues later!
Thanks Tony. I agree I wouldn't want people driving through my land either 😅 We don't choose the properties we film. We get hired to make these virtual tours by buyers who can't visit them here in person. Sometimes they give us permission to share these videos publicly with our viewers.
@@OKportugal that's great that people ask you to view before purchasing!! Here where I live they are buying without even seeing it!! You're doing a great job and at same time, you never know, I might fall for one you're showing!
Yes you can put a mobile, non-permanent structure on the land there legally, but living in that structure permanently would not be legal. This is my opinion and I'm sure others would disagree, but you wouldn't be able to permanently inhabit that land in my opinion.
Funny how that land can't have a house built on it yet metres away is the neighbour living in a house. Best thing is for people to stay wise and not buy these virtually useless plots of land.
you won't get any permissions, now with lithium mines I'm not sure but this land most likely is on a lithium future mine and there was one accident dude woke up and half the garden was gone and there was a tractor and pipes and he sheet can do about it. before buying anything there look at lithium mine maps there is no land to live there and after mining that land will be like moon craters and grey-red or other toxic rivers
I'd buy the land if I could buy the neighbours property. Its not worth the bother with a neighbour bang in the middle. Don't know why the neighbour hadn't bought the land.
A lot of money for that piece of land. Estate agents in that part of Portugal have discovered a gold mine in British land buyers, and you, Ken, are being an accomplice to them, I'm sorry to say. This land is not worth more than 3000€. Anything more expensive than 10000 to 12000 €/hectare is too much.
Hey Daniel, I'm not sure you understand my part in these videos. I'm not selling land to people. I get paid by people to film properties here and give my reviews on the places as they can't visit them in person. Sometimes I get to share those private videos on my channel for you to watch. I believe that things will only sell for what people are willing to pay for them.
