This film from 1953 follows the route of a Chinese pilgrim through Bihar, the‘ Land of Enlightenment’ where Buddha was born. This was once a great centre of learning and worship for students from Central Asia, China, Burma and Ceylon. Every pillar, arch, and relic from sarnath, Sonepur and Patna, Nalanda and Vaishali, Pavapuri and Bodh Gaya to Rajigir, recalls something of the spirit and message of Sakyamuni to devout pilgrims.
