Land Rover 300 TDI engine - Cost/quality overview 

nice to see a shiny 300 tdi like that. If you take good care of those engines they last you forever. Mine is at 600.000km or 370.000 miles still driving it daily (all original, nothing overhauled)

wtf were you buying your parts from far too expensive ,i have a couple of 300 tdi engines in my defenders they are getting removed and i am puting m57 engines and boxes the 300 tdi just dont do the job for me anymore need more power to tow heavy loads 220 bhp bmw engines will do the job out of x5's plus i need auto boxes as my left knee aint the best and clutche is heavy duty on one of them other is an auto.

The biggest problem is ensuring quality parts as said, some well-known brands are no longer producers of guaranteed quality parts.

BTW, beautiful work! Did you use the crankshaft seal made by Turner engineering? The one that has place for 2 little screws, that will screw into the block.

Nice build. Do you plate your parts in zinc yourself or do you have someone else do it? Also, have you ever put a BMW M57 in a defender? Thanks for the great videos
