best engines ever. I like the td5 also a lot. its very very sturdy and reliable, not as reliable as an analogue 200/300 TDi of course but still very solid
I have the flywheel locking tool, or timing pin kit that I bought from someone who machined it all himself, I got it for the 200tdi that I used to have at the time. Just wondering if it would be compatible with the 300 as well or not. Any idea?
I was asked before. Depends on the damage of the flywheel I guess. But they are heavy so lots of room for improvement. I leave that up to my machine shop to decide
i wouldnt necessarily say better i would equal weight them. Both are great engines that with minimum maintenance go a long way. I think its a personal choice, i had both for a couple of years in a range Rover classic. I was very happy with both of them. Fuel consumprtion is great @8/9L per 100 km
