It's a Quickjack and has really come in handy, id recommend one of you can't get a two or four poster set up easily or if floor isn't thick enough for that.
Thanks for the video! Do I need to change the PTU and Haldex oil also at the same time when I change the rear differential? The LR service center told me that the differential may broke after the oil change since I have not change it for about 8 years, 60k miles. I find it strange though. My LR2 2008 is about 130k miles.
You don't have to change all the fluids at the same time, but I did since they require similar tools and equipment. I don't see how new fluid will damage your diff: that doesn't make sense.
How often do you need to change the oil on the differential? And does this mean that changing the oil prolongs the life of the differential or are there other things that makes this part go bad? I have heard that the differentials are worrisome topics on LR2 Freelanders
It looks like 50k miles for severe duty and 100k miles for normal use. Yes, changing the fluid can prolong the differential's life. Other things can damage it such as leaks/low fluid, if the case cracks from an impact or shock load, overheating, etc.
I couldn't squeeze it. For the rear diff, I had a long hose and funnel, ran it between the tire and fender, and poured it from there. I also have a manual pump that fits certain bottles, but I don't think I used that here. I've used that on a lot of other vehicles with different bottles though.
