The comments, 'found it, lost it' had me snickering for a good 30s. The stream of anecdotes, humour and ocd was all spot on - because its so identifiable. The bracket thats so sharp it can cut you from a distance for example, was hilarious. I almost spat out my morning coffee as a result 😏

Great progress. The handbook for my 1929 Singer actually specifies the interval at which the leaf springs should be removed, dismantled and regreased. Greasing the springs is absolutely the correct approach.
@Stu_2112
@Stu_2112 Год назад
The argument used against the greasing of Land Rover leaf springs is that the ingress of crud, sand and grit into the grease between the leaves turns it into a grinding paste and accelerates the wear. I do grease my springs as my Landy doesn't see a lot of heavy off road use.
@michaeldallimore8590
@michaeldallimore8590 Год назад
@@Stu_2112 OK I suppose that might be reasonable. My LR has airbags so not an issue for me.
@mbrown6930
@mbrown6930 Год назад
@@Stu_2112 I grease mine too - I've not seen any Land Rover leaf springs abraded away to nothing by a greasy grinding paste but I have seen a lot of them corroded into a solid lump with splayed leaves caused by rust expansion. Spring steel is pretty hard and unlikely to wear significantly. Regularly hosing the crud off the underside will make everything last longer anyway.
@maelbilquey3743
