Laying. Laying on my couch. Old soldier’s mantra - don’t run if you can walk, don’t walk if you can stand still, why stand if you can sit, lay down instead of sitting, lay down and watch videos of some mad Kiwi fixing his old Landy if at all possible.
You're lucky they shipped your exhaust pipes in a box. I ordered full exhaust for my S3 from UK and they shipped to Kenya as bare pipes with a shipping label taped on. Luckily they arrived unscathed. But fumbling around in my gravel driveway to install them I managed to get a piece of gravel in the pipe and now I have a lovely jingle every time I start up the Landy.
Ordinarily I would baulk at a 48 min video. But when it has Geoffery Croker’s name to it, you know it won’t be long enough. Absolutely superb and better than anything you’ll get on “pay TV”.
Totally agree on Emberton (and in the UK, they are also on eBay as well) - Great to see the next video up, Sooooo many tips to be had for my next project (1983 Series III 109) - looking forward to the next one.
Project Binky ain't got nothing on Aaron Cake who has been working on his Mazda Cosmo in Canada for about 12 years now. I don't know if I'm allowed to point this out, but just soldering a new larger OD end on the vacuum pipe, without adding the extension, would have allowerd you to use "any old hose" instead of a 40 year old NOS part. It's great to see it running!
While waiting for you I have had to watch an Australian rebuilding a S1 - can you just imagine? HE is a kicker, biter and a spitter. You sir, are dangerously close to becoming a rivet-counter. I love it. Keeps me going on my own not-project, and you are doing some of the best of type content I know of. Brilliant. Cheers from KZN South Africa.
The annual video drops! Awesome!!!! By the way my ex military defender came with a painted diff cover for silent convoy mode, the light underneath then lit something up for the driver behind to follow.
If you plug in and out the Makita battery several times on the charger you can change the jingle that plays at end of charge. One of the jingle slots is blank so you can turn it off. There is even a Für Elise and others, lol.
Please give us an update sooner than 18 months, ive missed this Rover so so much! The amount of work youve done is incredible, the level of detail is unpar with any other build
Entertaining, thanks! I always open your videos smiling at why anyone would want to be working on an archaic shitbox with imperial fasteners and 11 horsepower…and finish the video with a vague hankering to go and buy one…
Very entertaining as per usual Mr Croker. You're attention to detail is fantastic. I can't wait to see your face after it's completely covered in mud after our big 4WD trip 😁😁
I have to go back to your original channel to review all the work all in one go haha. Also, Once this is done, I hope you do a 1-2 hour MEGA edit! Just amazing work!
When you started the engine @ 47:25, I saw that one of the rubber hoses (near the Carb, down & to the left) would slowly move when you gave it some gas. Just in case you missed it. All that being said, I have loved watching this project come together of the last couple years (and channels lol), and I cannot wait to see this beauty driving around. Ur an absolute legend mate
